    Love the details on this!! I remember watching this and seeing how the carb boots fit on my FZR1000. I ended up going two left and two right orienting the boot Allen screws. So much is common to these Yamaha motorcycles. Great videos Chris.

      Thanks Ken! I thought they might be the same! Thanks for confirming that! 👍

    Thanks for the video, but I’m struggling to fit the air box properly to the top of the carbs. When I tighten the Allen screws they don’t hold the box tightly enough and keeps coming loose. Maybe a bad design by yamaha? Any suggestions?

      @judodak I think it's because the rubber has become really hard over the years. Try to heat them up with hot gun or a hair dryer. This will soften the rubbers, allowing you better positioning over the carburettors.

      @@ChrisSofosHi Chris, the rubber boots are in remarkably good condition for the age 1994. I’ve tried every combination. Heated with hairdryer. With and without silicone grease. I even took the four rubber sleeves out and screwed them on individually but they kept coming out when the box was fitted…grrr

      @@judodak That's weird! From what I can tell the air filter boxes of the '91 to '95 models are all the same, so in the light chance you had an air filter box from a different year, this wouldn't cause any issues like that.
      The front bolt that keeps the air filter box in place (at the front of the box) is there I suppose? If not, make sure it is.
      The only other thing I can think of, is that the sponged strips that are on top of the air box and help to keep it in place are gone. In your case they are much needed. These sponged strips are being pushed down by the fuel tank and that way they keep the air filter box in place.

      Some online shop in Greece. You can try eBay too. They are exactly the same as the ones on the FZR 1000. These two motorcycles have the same carburetors (with different jets and needles though).

    What is the correct fuel level inside the carburettor (how many millimeters above the mikuni notch)?

    • @ChrisSofos
      @ChrisSofos  Год назад

      The service manual states that is should be 6.8 to 7.8mm above the line on the float bowl
