Enjoyed that. Grew up in Drumchapel in the 50s and 60s, and often went for a walk over the fields, past Faifley, to Craigton Loch (the loch got filled in years ago), and sometimes up into the hills. Loved it. Being from the Drum, we used to think that Hardgate was exotic and posh!

This is brilliant to watch and thanks George for sharing; I left Faifley in 1974 and before doing so, I would have walked that very walk you did every day for a couple of years!! I worked in Beatties Biscuits right there where the shopping centre is and walked that boulevard every night after work up to Faifley.........good times...

Great to watch I grew up in the faifley ,swallow rd to Craig park st went to edenbarnet school, I loved the long summer evenings running around the hills guddling for trout and climbing the pylons, hills on fire and helping the firemen putting it out and going home stinkin of smoke and getting a shirrikin, but what a place growing up playing catchy, and card schools in the closes. When playing any games their was always plenty of wains to get it up n running-playing rounders with 16 of yous ...lol ahh they were the days am 48 now and still in clydebank and am feeling good. Mon the bankies nice wee vid m8.

I stayed in Fullers Gate, remember the White Cap well (my mum worked in there with Kitty and I can't remember Kitty's man's name) - I remember Emmerson's as well and the entrance to the park at the side of it. I also remember the public toilets at the Hardgate, the Post Office and everything. I still come back and it's great to go and visit all these. Fullers Gate has changed so much though, it's hard to recognise anything in it!

My how Hardgate has changed. Emerson’s had the best ice cream & Nett Morrison had the post office which was on the corner of Cochno Road right next to the pub. So glad someone remembered the public toilets. Faifley housing scheme didn’t exist, it was built the year after we left Scotland in 1953. (We lived at the top of Cochno Road). All that was where Faifley housing scheme is now was Auchinleck and Jamieson’s farm. Wish I was back there now, so you enjoy it. Your walk brought back many happy memories.

You should go a bit further along to the Erskine Bridge. Even past that to Dumbarton and Loch Lomond.
Thanks for the walk. I don't think we're "allowed out" that far. Very enjoyable!👍
