    I’m curious why someone healthy enough to plant etc has an ebt card? I’m a single mother with two kids and work two jobs to survive. Nice to see my taxes supporting others so they don’t have to work. I work two jobs and have no budget or time for a garden but someone with ebt does…. Unreal

      Jenny Lee Normally I would not reply to your statement. Please do not judge people,you do not have a clue as to our health or circumstances. I would never judge you, Please be careful about judging others. this is why people are afraid to share accept this information as intended and if not move aside so others can receive it.

    • @ataylor3581
      @ataylor3581 Год назад +42

      Jenny why are you so bitter, how do you assume that people on EBT have never worked ? People could have suffered a life threatening disability or they could have worked and retired and what they get from society security is not enough. Pray to God to cleanse you of the evil spirit of judgmental and anger

    • @justtanja7327
      @justtanja7327 Год назад +37

      @JENNY LEE. I worked for Social Security for 15 years. And was saddened by how mentally disabled people were embarrassed to apply for disability because of OTHER people's judgment of them. Most judgmental people cannot tell if someone has PTSD, been traumatized as an adult or child, has a chemical imbalance, etc. I myself have chronic pain daily. But to look at me you would ASSUME I am capable to do a lot of things. I take care of my functioning autistic adult senior aunt. She was first denied a free bus pass because she was told by someone, with no medical credentials, at the bus depot office that she was of "SOUND MIND". The unnecessary judgment of society causes actual sick people to become mentally paralyzed from seeking help. It's a sad thing to witness. May the Lord open up your heart and mind. Stay prayed up yall. EDIT: Walmart employees are encouraged by Walmart to apply for EBT. There was a news documentary on it. You never know someone's situation. Another thing, most people have worked in the past and paid into Social Security, Disability and unemployment and paid taxes to be able to collect benefits in their future when they need to. So please stop with the unnecessary judgment.

      A lot of people that are on food stamps do have jobs and work very hard, (and pay taxes that go into paying EBT benefits) but just do not make enough, some areas do not have many high paying jobs so people take the jobs that they can get... I was a young single mother and I was on food stamps for several years, I worked hard everyday and took all of the overtime I was allowed, but I lived in a smaller town and there was not many "good" jobs to pick from and I did not make enough to move to a bigger city to find a better job, so I supplemented my income with food stamps to help feed my children. I eventually found a better paying job and worked my way up, but never would I shame someone for using EBT benefits. Jenny Lee, you have no idea what others are going through. It is sad that people feel the need to be mean and shame someone that is just trying to help others to be able to stretch their food budget a little bit further. Granny Karma, we love you and thank you for letting us know about this... I do not currently have SNAP/EBT benefits, but I know others that do and will be passing this information along to them. 💕💕Remember, if you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all.

    Thanks Granny and Jackie. I was just thinking today that it's almost time to start my seeds for fall crops. And there you go getting a jumpstart on me 😉 lol. I've used my ebt for years to buy seeds and occasionally plants. I grow amost everything from seeds I start. I save seeds from my heirlooms and only buy varieties that I want to try. I never realized that you could buy fruit trees with them or I would have an orchard by now. Many, many years ago when my sons were young you could also get canning jars with them but not spare lids. I was so disappointed when they cut that out. That was way back when you got the books of stamps instead of the plastic card. So you know it was a long time ago. My youngest will be 49 next month. Happy Gardening! Stay Safe and Much Love ❤

    Hi, Granny, Thank you SO much for posting this video. I work with people with serious/persistent mental illnesses in the community, and using their EBT card to buy plants is so beneficial for them in many ways. It's a great way to save money for folks, and caring for the plants helps them build self-esteem, establish structure, and gives them a sense of purpose. I know that some people struggle for space (many of my clients live in large apartment buildings), but we really try to help them plant in pots, utilize window sills, and look for plants that don't need a whole lot of light to succeed. I can't stress enough how much planting and harvesting food assists people in recovery for mental health issues. I plan on showing your video to my people! THANK YOU!

    For all you miserable trolls trying to suppress the light of others please start your own channel for the dark side. It's easy to choose misery over joy. On this channel we don't want or need your negativity here. Absolutely nothing grows in darkness. You tried it but what an epic fail 🤣😂Thank you Granny❤️We love you 💖

    Save seeds from your plants and you can grow more next year. I have taken strawberries and gently cut the skin on the berry and laid on paper towels and put on my moore stove we heat our house with and dried them then scraped them off gently when dry and planted them and they are coming up.

    Wow I did not know that I am a senior citizen and I wish I would’ve known that they should let you know that when you apply for these things because that way you will never run our food if you begin to plant your own food thank you so much you may God bless you for revealing that

    I don’t think very many people who have an EBT card have the property for a garden. At least not where I live in California.

      You can plant a garden in buckets on a patio and some plants will grow indoors.

    I have mint planted and I had a small can of diet gingerale and put my mint in it and it was so good. I used to be able to buy tom tucker mint ginger ale, but now you can't find it.

    Grannykarma Lord went to the market in my area, zone (6b) and RICE, RICE was 36.99 for 20lb. A 10 lb bag of RICE was 17.99 and 14.99.
    Then in a different area of the same market I found some rice and the price was 3.99 for 10lb. I believe it was cheaper because it was parboiled rice.
    So far every trip to the local market in the last six months, prices have been going up on all items.
    Small things like, yeast, are up .10-.12 cents, name brand bread is easy $5. a loaf however store brand is $1.50.
    Meat I don't even look at till I pick up the staples but I can say OUCH to meat prices.

    yes ma'am...our Mississippi heat is no joke. 105 to 110 heat index this past week. I walked out of Goodwill Thursday and I was drenched by the time I got back to my car....and I was parked close to the store!!!! Keep water with you!!! Don't forget to save your seeds to see if you can grow more! I dried some cantaloupe seeds, and tossed them into some planters that my husband made.....I thought I might ger a few come up if I was lucky....OMG! I think they all came up! I have so many plants! LOL! Now I need to figure out where to put them as I need to weed them out...they are too close together. I hope I can keep them going in this heat. My daddy said they need good fertilizer to keep them going so I need to see what I need on that. I really want to see if I get good Cantaloupes or if I get a weird hybrid.

    People cook with lavender so she probably could have gotten that too. We actually have a huge lavender farm in Bucks County, PA.
