I guess that's why Steam implemented the 10 days cooldown where a skin will only show up in your inventory after 10 days, so skins will expire after 7 days and there won't be some scammer out there showing they have skins on their inventory when they don't

@@xrry8428 even though the keys/cases are technically the same, they arn't the same after you unbox something. wasting a key on rentals when that could have been the key that got you a knife or gloves is pretty lame/ there are plenty of examples of people opening just 1 case and getting a gold tho it may be insanely rare. you cant win the lottery if you don't play the lottery
I feel the potential problem is instead of being a rare skin, any jackass with a couple bucks can equip the AK Inheritance in matchmaking. I'm not sure if it'll outweigh the case supply before the kilowatt skins just become so lame and played out.
Who cares about a skins rarity? Not everyone is willing to pay a lot of money for a skin, this makes it so people can experience expencive skins without paying a lot of money. It's kinda like a battlepass, but for skins

imagine u could rent skins over community market. valve could hardcode it to make it impossible to scratch stickers, couldnt put them into trade ups and so on. like some sites offer, but they could make it instant and also even per game. so u could offer f.e. an ak empress for 1$ per game or 5$ a week, while the owner has no risk, could even play with the skin till the moment someone rents it.
I cant wait for 'seasonal' skins now, or a battle pass, where you get to rent the skin for the duration of the pass if you dont want to pay for the premium pass.. This feature existing will give Valve the chance to implement seasonal skins for easter or christmas etc to use temporarily :D
Think this is a great addition, tf2 kinda did the same thing, I found that when your in a skin server you don’t really get to play with the skin you just look at it,so actually being able to play the game with the skins is great.
As a person who has a huge investment in this game. Couldn’t be happy enough with this change! It’s about time that everyone can have a fun experience and enjoy the art in the game without being a hedge fund manager. It’s a great idea to allow equity of experience while still holding value for collectors. Big W!!!
Let's say someone rents a case. Say they get a skin that has a rare float. After the seven days it never existed? I'd be pissed if i rented a case/got rare float instead of just opening and making it real.
