The sheep ball can be super annoying, but also feels like a fair punishment. You know when the move is coming and it’s relatively easy to avoid. After the first time you see it, it feels like the punishment fits the crime if you get hit.
On the topic of Tranquil Gain, it regens as long as you aren’t inputing anything, so on certain weapons (Than axe, Mel flames, maybe Persephone skull??) it actually works nicely, especially Than. Charge up your crit, get close to someone, do the spin move, and you get a lot of your magic back super quick. I do think that design is not good due to how few weapons synergize with it, but maybe the concept could work with an overhaul
Hecate polymorph proposal, to allow players to feel more active in avoiding the move so they don't "stop playing the game", polymorph ball could have the reflectable property of Ganondorf's "Dead Man's Volley" attack, hitting the ball with an attack knocks it away from you. in Zelda this sends the attack back to the boss, but here I think it would just reverse the ball's trajectory temporarily before it seeks you again so you need to repeatedly knock it away, like a paddle ball. this would allow you to clear out the summoned witches while also managing the ball
If you could bat it back at her several times, and her invincible barrier started cracking more each time, breaking if you do it ~4+ times, that would be great. It would change the fight a LOT and give you so much more counterplay. You could just avoid it, then kill the witches. You could let Frinos eat it, then kill the witches. Or you could bounce it back at Hecate while the witches spawn, breaking the invincibility and letting you fight her while the second wave of witches are still alive. It would make the last third of her fight a lot harder, but you could beat her much faster, and it would make the last third much more dynamic.
The missed attack at 23:50 wasn't dodging them, it was the barrier from hermes boon, and i think it counted you as "running" because you did a dash attack and the arcana which make you run faster give you the running status during the dash. Not sure about it but i think it was that
29:52 so far there are two uses for Flick Knives to make them work imo. on Pan, if you're low on magick, I found them to be useful as a filler knife spam source so I could keep dealing damage while waiting for poseidon gain to proc or something. that's situational for really specific build issues though, the REAL use for them is to put Demeter Hera or Hestia on your special and use Flick Knives to apply Origination on an attack focused build, basically the entire hammer boils down to getting a free extra curse smuggled into the attack button. Hephaestus special also has some potential here, but he procs so infrequently that you don't really need his special smuggled into your attack, you can just hit the special button itself once every 20 seconds unlike the Original curses you want to constantly be re-applying no video proof I'm afraid, but these are the only use cases I've run into lmao
@@lumenox8541 He's saying 'supposedly fixed' meaning the blade's parry comes on top of anything such as 'misses' or 'blocked' so when we have the parry ready, 'miss' shouldn't even appear in the first place. He's not fucking dumb not to know what the difference between missing and dodging is...
I think they only fixed it for "temporary" things. I.e. Dodge Dodge Dodge, Demeter's barrier, and the Arcana card that gives you a barrier. I think Daze and permanent dodge from Arcana/Boons can still trigger. Not sure if that's an oversight or a balance decision
@9:26 dude in chat is like i hate it cause you can't do anything about it which is funny cause you can dogde it or make the frog taank it and if it does hit you you can still attack and daash and set toula off so yeah there is actually alot you can do
The biggest issue with the sheep ball imo is you don't know you can dodge it to begin with, by run 5 I had given up on dodging, then 20 runs I say on RUclips others dodging and took me 10 more runs to do it myself,
15:30 - I beat Eris the first time I got that far, so when I died at least a few times to every other boss, I agree she isn't too difficult. First time she got stuck against the wall and stood on top of fire as well so couldn't hit her directly without taking damage. Had about 17hp and 0 DDS left at the end.
Flick knives solidified my wonky Pos/Zues build yesterday. I was using the Omega-special and Dash-attack in sequence to apply slip, hit the foe for a minimum of 30 (infusion) with splash and chain lightning, and that effect would hit the enemies like 15 times per-second when I had my button timing right. Born gain kept my magic up, and the addition of Hestia's boon to add the fire blast to my Omega-special meant every hit was doing mad damage.
My things with the sheep ball isn't that i don't like it it's a fun attack to dodge my issue is how long it follows you. It feels like it lasts way too long both on the follow and the transformation.
Flick Knives is not that suck. It's okay enough when you don't roll good hammers on special build, and you can focus on it with a correct build (Zeus on attack and Aphrodite special to blitz right away for example.) Hephy's infusion works on it and can be synergized with Hestia's infusion.
Out of the surface fights i personally have more trouble with Polyphemus, and i dont really know why. Like you said, eris is fine if you barrel stuff her and know when to use the pillars in her arena. I dont think the sheep attack is that bad, its pretty easy to dodge and it does feel kinda like you deserve it if you get hit. I dont completely hate the hourglasses but they spawn WAY too many in the Chronos fight, specifically in phase 2 it sucks.
IMO The Sorceress Arcana should have the effect end briefly after the Omega move is fully charged, and not 4 seconds later. Waiting for enemies with time slow is annoying, and in theory the non upgraded card feels better to use, and that's no good. They should change the upgrades to affect the strenght of the time slow instead.
Hey Haelian, please try a sister blades' hestia build (fire in the normal attack). I tried this setup a couple times, and I really loved the way that the elemental damage work, but I never managed to extract to supposed full potencial of this elemental build.
Aspect of Pan with hestia on special seems to work really well for me, beat eris and chronos with this. Demeter/hestia duo boon put in work for me but idk if this is considered a “good” build but it seemed to Melt bosses
I would remake Demeters mana regen a little bit differently. For example, every frozen enemy gives you mana regen/instantaneously. Like you have to take one of her frozen boons (cast for example) for the sake of the balance, but it is still would be a powerfull boon that lets you “play”
Concerning the sheep, I don't play but maybe one or two runs a night and only 2 or 3 nights a week, so I am really bad at avoiding the sheep curse. My solution would be to have something in the crossroads that allows practice. With that said, getting his is rarely a run ender, unless you are on the five-minute timer, maybe, and you can still control the sheep and get terrain kills. Maybe add a button that allows you to Baa like a sheep, to get your frustrations out :)
Escalating Ambush + Explosive Ambush + Flutter strike (Heroic) + Weed killer (heroic) and you can see 10k hits on Cronos. It feels like escalating ambush is an hidden OP boon.
i got my biggest number with this aspect, apollo's legendary, the hammer that makes the o-attack crazy, weed killer, and other supporting boons and keepsakes. got up to around 4590 on a hit
I never able the Sorceress arcana for this Aspect, the time slow makes the parry so unbearable to use. Imho it also doesn't make it interesting gameplay-wise, because with it deactivated you can really use the parry as... a parry lel, reacting to moves etc
I wouldn't mind Sheep Ball so much if it did something like double the next damage you take and end the effect. Instead it feels like an annoyance that interrupts the flow of the boss fight. It's not debilitating enough to make the flight harder and the only real punishment is the time penalty of how long you have to stay in the sheep form. This is also my main concern with the Hourglass bubbles. Unless you have a specific enemy mix there's no real threat since they also block incoming melee attacks from most enemies. Time bubbles in the Chronos flight are devastating, but in Tartarus they're mild and in Morning Fields they're pointless.
Explosive ambush hammer + hammer which allows you to boost omega attack damage for each kill during the single fight = that’s how I had beeeg number on omega attack (3000+)
It is wild to me that people are complaining about novel mechanics that you can interact with. The sheep is a whatever thing, the sand domes are more annoying. For me the domes are annoying in that they block projectiles, not the stun effect. I mean it's a skill intensive game, if every interaction in the game is dodge and trade it would get old. I have found most of the fights interesting and varied enough, and there are alot of tools and flexibility in the game especially for a rogue like.
I think they added that in the last patch for areas after Erebus/Ephyra. I think it only applies to Oceanus and Rift of Thessaly, since you can't get minor finds as door rewards in Mourning Fields or Tartarus.
eris fight is bad because she stalls for time ALOT, u can burst her down to 20% and the fight still takes as long as every other time. end up cheesing her around the pilar most of the time tho
I do wish her invulnerability periods were maybe a little faster. They look cool, but I agree, it feels like it kind of interrupts my groove. Though I wonder if maybe the problem is she's too easy to chunk her health down between invulnerability periods? Maybe she'll feel better when they add the rest of Olympus, and she only needs to feel like a zone 2 boss, rather than an end boss.
I think surface runs are annoying as shit the big guys drop fire on fuckin everything and everything is throwing shit at you and no matter how hard or loud you cry for help no one coems to help just another fucking fire barrel into your face you know what I mean the surface reminds me of my childhood

it used to be so annoying to dodge before the sprint buff from the first patch
The eris fight on the other hand, position yourself wrong once and you're easily eating 60+ damage before you can dash out.

Extreme measure makes the witches damage immune and you have to paddle the polymorph through them to beat it.

what's weird is i've still had attacks say "missed" while i am parrying, even though they supposedly fixed it
How do you parry a move that doesn't hit in the first place? Dodging is not the same as missing.
