Pile 1 very much aligned for me and my DM. We have both experienced a great deal of trauma while growing up, but I put a lot of distance between myself and my family. He has continued to remain in very close contact with his abuser who still verbally abuses him and has definitely never expressed positive emotions, seen his value, or accepted that at his core he is a beautiful and gentle soul who has endured being beat down for who he is. He is terrified to trust and has so much difficulty even accepting love or believing he is lovable. We do, or did have a very special bond and connection but he doesn’t feel deserving of me- and has said so several times. But he is! If only he would get out of the regular energy of hate and abuse he could maybe begin to feel better about himself. He is a very ambitious and driven person who is in a supervisory position and excels in his professional life. He just struggles so much in his romantic life.
