Glad to hear and ya i spent hours tryna find the what the best shortcuts were and the ableton website list wasnt cutting it so i made a picture of all the shortcuts that fit on 1 screen
After 10 + years of using Live, I felt validated by knowing most of these commands (minus a few which I will definitely be adopting). Thanks for sharing!
i didn't know about ctrl + space in the piano roll and holy shit that's cracked and i feel extra stinky stoooopid for not doing that 11/10 my guy got all the infinity stones of ableton all laid out for us
incredible cheat sheet, I feel like a better producer just having this in front of me while I work. Every time I feel like there's something I could be doing with a shortcut, I find it on the sheet and remember for next time. ctrl+shift+d is a lifesaver. I would love to see more workflow tutorials like macros, effects racks, sampling, layering
I installed this DAW yesterday and I don't know what is up with RUclips to recommend me this hell of a god damn nice and quick tutorial that has solved all the problems I had with Ableton Live. Thank you sir!
@@Pronoc1 Haha ya it seems like a basic one but alot of people don't know about it surprisingly. I posted Ctrl Shift on reddit awhile back and top comment was "bruh." so ur not alone
This video is so important and I’m about to watch it over and over and over again. So many little things I’ve been meaning to learn for sometime, workflow goat
great video and I have the cheat sheet printed out and on my wall now. super helpful coming from FL where Ableton feels more sluggish to get around at first. thanks
Now if you want to save TWO HUNDRED hours in Ableton, spend one day reading the manual. Just think, if you don't know these key commands, what else are you missing that Ableton can do?
YOOO HOW DID I NOT KNOW THAT FIRST TIP 20 SECONDS IN AND THIS VID JUST MADE MY LIFE EASIER thank u This is hilarious there are so many shortcuts i didnt know about!!!! Ive been a little peeved by all these small things but never realized there were fast solutions!! God bless u
0:20 I'd like to add that if you want the track to now play every time you press space, not just when you press ctrl space, you need to press ctrl shift space.
Mind blown, holy shit. The only thing I would add “which idk how to implement” is when renaming a track, leave the hashtag because it will automatically leave each track numbered, and will even adjust accordingly if you move the tracks around. Thanks so much for literally the most insightful, concise video tutorial I’ve ever seen. Mr Bill would approve.
Was recently thinking that I should focus on improving my Ableton workflow. These tips were MASSIVELY helpful, even having produced with Ableton for 3-4 years.
shift alt tab for switching between "Notes" "Envelopes" and "MPE" ;-) (just found out after seeing your video with "shift tab", by try and error :-D) Thank you
Wow. I've been using Ableton for 10 years now and never knew about ctrl+space for playing from the playhead inside a clip and ctrl+shift+d for duplicating across all tracks. Thx!
Thank you so much. This tutorial is gold and your shortcut picture rocks 🤘🏻I'm not a Windows user but it seems you say Control talking about the Windows key instead.
you can also click just above the MIDI in the piano roll and a little speaker icon will pop up and it will play from there. sometimes it is glitchy tho and starts a bar before where you clicked
Im proud of myself for knowing most of these. I also got shortcut buddy and have that mapped for stuff I used all the time like eq compressor and limiter. No need for typing.
it is tough though because the manual doesnt order by most useful making it kinda tedious to read. I made the shortcut pic just for that, for most useful to least useful all to fit on one screen :)
this and a future fl shortcut video my only 2 gems tho, after that idk that ill have anything as useful to offer regardless I very much appreciate it and hope to continue some high value content!
watching this video felt an hour long. definitely the longest 3 minutes of my life. bro if i fit another softwares keybinds in my brain it's gonna explode
All shortcuts accessible from a menu have their shortcut listed beside them. That's how I discovered "0" for disabling selected parts of a track, amongst others.

yeah I just saved this cause I learnt a lot. seeing it in action is also a better visual aid than reading in manual
Glad to hear and ya i spent hours tryna find the what the best shortcuts were and the ableton website list wasnt cutting it so i made a picture of all the shortcuts that fit on 1 screen
the manual is invaluable though, sure, less so for key commands (which just take repetition)
Live Manual isn't that bad, just learned shorcuts from there and it's super visual too
@@AndroidGamingApps true, it's not a bad manual at all. but it's nice to see the things being walked through in context

I really appreciate it thank youu
I just love you. The cheatsheet is genius. Your concise way of putting things is a belessing. Hope you get to 100.000 subs sooner than later.
Wow, thank you! That is very appreciated and nice
Why 100,000? What made you think that 100k is his worth? What does the number matter anyways? Does anything matter? Life is short and we are nothing
