Tranquila, que esto de reggaeton tiene apenas 10%, apenas por el dembow característico del mismo, en la primera parte de la canción. No es mi estilo de música, por su alto contenido de electrónica/experimental, pero bastante bueno.
Cyberpunk, referencias de su cultura, una voz increible, efectos de otro mundo. Definitivamente es arte.

i wouldnt say this has much of a hyperpop influcence, but this definitely is still very creative! i think it blends more like, synthpop and stuff into it :)

it is not something new but even so it is appreciated that Arca experiments with it

This here is why i cant ever be as impressed again by other artists expressing their transitional journey like sam smith etc. My virginity to this awareness was taken by Arca. It overwhelmed me. The pain, the beauty, the sensuality. The music flowed thru me like liquid honey. It shocked me in such a delicious way. When the bass and drums kick in i feel the power. Although as a cis bi woman i would never understand her journey on a personal level but i not only respect her but love her for revealing her true beauty to us. Arca is amazing. Arca isnt trying to get popular or shock anyone. Arca just is arca and like an expensive italian perfume, we dont know the ingredients but we adore the scent. This is true beauty. ❤

I've been following Arca's music and production for a couple years and I've never seen someone so effectively translate grime and surrealism into something profoundly heartfelt, yet chocked full of symbology. A real feast for every facet of the arts. I have deep respect for pressing the bounds of music, visuals, gender, and really the collective experience of expression. God, I fucking love Arca. And as a gay kid in the Midwest, finding her music really helped me not only come to terms with my own identity struggles, but solidified the idea for me that it's through this experience my contributions to this world will be anything but boring and ordinary. Thank you for that. All of my love.

The most disgustingly terrifying pair of Reggaeton songs I've ever heard. Not even speaking about the visuals, just the songs.. the textures, the beat, the sonic landscape is so unnerving. It gives me anxiety, but in a good way, somehow. The video only helps further those sentiments.

i don't know why i was ever told her music was Hyperpop, even wikipedia doesn't say anything about that, but the people who showed me Arca claimed it was the same scene, but hearing Dorian and 100gecs, and comparing it to whatever Arca is doing, it's no where near stylistically close to each other. the labels that i've seen that make more sense to me seem to range from Avant-Pop, Techno, IDM, Industrial Hip Hop, and Reggaetón. i'm not even saying this is a bad thing, just matter of fact. i don't even like the sound of Hyperpop music, so Arca manages to achieve a vivid and strange aesthetic, while also having music that doesn't kill my ears.

In the context of the song its the burden of dysphoria, of having to live forever with the burden of not feeling like youre truly yourself;the mans that have to support the wheel are representing arca and the wheel is the dysphoria

Every day is a battle trying to figure out if I'm cultured enough to really appreciate what Arca is doing. She's worked with so many of my faves, but her own work just hasn't hit home for me yet, but that doesn't mean it's not hitting EVERY SINGLE mark for someone else, and I recognize icon behavior and production when I see it. I'll keep trying, and brush up on my Spanish/Portuguese while I'm at it
All the following is based on my perspective and on the experiences i had while evolving as an arca listener. I think that looking her more recent work we can divide her songs in two main categories, the ones that still carry the arca vibe but are structured in a way that resembles conventional pop and the other global market music (klk feat rosalia, desafio, machote and even prada/rakata). The other category would be songs that totally deconstruct that structure (la chiqui, incendio, riquiqui, rip the slit etc). In particular what made me pay attention and enjoy this second category is I noticed that my ears were kinda trained and used to some features of songs (especially comercial/chart songs) that even though are nice, are not the only ones and are kind of a limitation to forms of artistic expression. In this second category I noticed that some of these song may not sound perfect as a whole conjecture, but parts of it sound really amazing and you can see that it has some serious dedication to it in terms of giving shape. I think the language barrier is also a thing that affects how we perceive her songs, I imagine. But i really enjoyed your perspective on her work, you know, since you are not so familiar. Wish I could go back and see my reaction the first time listening to mequetrefe
