So....that easy?
I just need a soldering iron and lead, and I can just fix it. Well that was easy to understand and much less intimidating compared to other videos, thanks a ton!
I'm really happy that you didn't criticized the mouse like other RUclipsrs. For the price what do they expect
Great video! I have a Logitech MX Vertical and the LMB started wearing out after a couple years. I replaced the buttons with Omron D2FC-F-7N(20M) buttons. It didn't go quite as easy as in the video, but I definitely recommend the solder sucker, as shown. Solder braid is helpful too. Using the higher temp setting on my iron also helped.
I am loving this influx of new videos!
I just hit my mouse couple of times with my fist, now its working :)
i'm gonna try that out thanks
LOL IT ACTUALLY WORKED THANKS XDDDD
HOLY SHIT
@@xturn1498 i'm dying
doesn't work for me, it's quarantine and i sadly can't buy switchers :(
"Its the left clicker that uses less clicks"
Minecraft Players: 👁 👄 👁 ehh-
Drag Clickers Laughing in the Background
as League player my mouse is perfect on the left click, but i need to replace my right click >
As a Minecraft tellybridger I can’t relate
Yeeees ty soo much!! I don't need to know how to do this now but I will definitely use this in the future! :)
Good and clear tutorial 👍
My mouse went broken after changing the click though 😐
thank you for this video, I'll use this as a guide for fixing my rakk alti
So cool. I hope he makes a video about repairing a busted headphones next.
Would love to learn how to pair wireless receivers if that is possible. Especially when you get sucked into keyboard mice combos
YOUR SOLUTION ABSOLUTELY WORKED. THANKS.
Bro, I snapped it back into place while just starting this video, Great help 🙏
Fantastic job, dude! Really well done! 😊
I've never thought about doing that!
Thanks!
Thought I could do this with my G604. I could not have been more wrong. More screws and parts than I could count. Video is perfect for the most basic mice.
Cool tutorial!!!. That`s how i replaced left switch for my 12 button mouse which is no longer available on market. Thanks
Thanks bro.. well done.. Is there a household liquid/solution like rubbing alcohol that you'd recommend to clean the carbon build up on the copper clickers?
Are they all 3 prongs? I love to fix stuff, i have G pro wireless that has issues with double click/right button click unregistering... That might be a problem.
Nice vid. I need to fix the wheel as it keeps jumping several pages sometimes, and the side clicks no longer work
I feel dumb about myself. I watched the video after I fixed my mouse. I used a common tactile button from a old TV as replacement switches and it works nicely enough since I can't buy a replacement since quarantine is still ongoing.
whoa nice tutorial bro, is it possible to upgrade the sensor?
Thanks man very helpful
Great video. I have a Steeleseries Rival 500, which they stopped making. One of the top left index finger buttons stopped clicking. I ordered all the tools and replacement parts. I also ordered replacement gliders, since I figured they wouldn't be any good once I removed them. I hope I can fix it with the switch I ordered, since the button is in an unusual spot. FYI it only took 2 months for the switches to arrive by mail.
Heyy, I was looking to fix mine too! At first I thought it be dirty or something is bended. But when I disassembled it and get to understand the inner of it, I figured might be the switches became less sensitive now, since the buttons wont click at all if they didnt hit the switches, but they still click correctly. It is hard to find any online resources to fix or even just disassemble it.
Tell us how it turns out please. Mine broken on the upper right and lower left. The middle button will soon die out too it seems. I really love the mouse layout, nowadays they all have boring grid pattern which is less intuitive. Even the new Steelseries replacement has the same layout as other brands now.
thanks man you saved a lot of money for me
Thank you so much, this worked great! I was able to extend the life of my fantastic 14 year-old Microsoft Comfort Mouse 1000. I replaced its left clicker with a right-clicker from a Microsoft Basic Optical Mouse v.2.0 whose scroll-wheel had gone bad. Works like new! :-)
14 year-old? WoW! Long live your mouse :)
@@LucaScarpellini3d Ha, ha, thanks! It's still going strong! :-)
2 years later and now both the left and right buttons have been replaced using buttons from newer mice. Happy 16th Birthday to our Microsoft Comfort Mouse 1000! 🎂 The manufacturer's evil "planned obsolescence" is (so far) losing the battle to all the DIY wannabes with soldering irons... 😋
@@AdamJanz3D Impressive length.
@@Bryan-T LOL, yes! They likely don't make them like that anymore. Though I'd probably get a little electronics soldering vise if I had to replace the clickers again. It's finicky work unless you have an extra set of hands... 😄
I have another issue with my mouse. If I press the left click it use both buttons like(left and right click) and for right click is nothing happening. Do you know what are the issues with this?
Thank you so much I was having trouble putting the mouse back together
Thanks idol. Please make a video for replacing the mouse wheel too.
I wanna say thank you for this , just so happen my dad left a soldering kit in my house awhile back and well , havent really got a reason to use it at all till now
was nerve wrecking since i last welded anything this small back in school but didnt burn the board thankfully and changed em for huano switches from another spare mouse
Interestingly the g102 have 2 omron switches lmb and rmb , the dpi and 2 side buttons are kailh
Most people when broken mouse button: Get a whole new mouse.
Actual GOAT! Thanks bro
In a lot of cases, you can actually fix the switches! Just pull the side tabs on the switch, open it carefully and you'll see a large springy metal. All you have to do is clean the contacts with a little piece of 2000grit sandpaper (or even very fine tweezers) and you're good to go.
I was looking for the list of switches to buy for a particular mouse maker, but no luck, Where can I find that?
Hey is there anyway to make an omron switch double click on purpose for Minecraft for example. Higher cps is critical for that game
Have my fixed Logitech G102 from someone who has far more soldering experience than me. Didn't take five minutes. LOL, instead of buying new buttons, I have them switched places with the mouse two side buttons. Now both of the left and right click buttons are working fine.
Interestingly, G102 main left and right click button are made by OMRON, yet they gave up so quickly.
I tried to replace the switch in two different mice, and one of them didn't work. Do you think I damaged the board or something with overheating? I don't think the replaced switch had any issue as I tried the same switch on different mouse and it worked. Just to let you know that the changed switch doesn't work and other switch (right-click) works just fine. Can you give any tips on what probably went wrong and how to correct it?
You probably got a dud switch. Test the switch before you solder them. A multimeter continuity test solves a lot of problems.:)
Do they also use same clicker on smaller mouse like the logitech mini?
Nice Vid man!
Thanks!
thank you .This helped me tech builder
Thanks for sharing . Are all mouse switches the same sizes ? Because i have a mouse that's smaller than the average-size mice . New here . Liked & Subscribed .
Thank you so much!
I'm gonna share my experience here, make sure you don't leave the soldering iron too long near the circuit board, it can mess it up. Now my clicks doesn't work at all xD
Thx this really helped me
i think that guy has nice tech videos hmmm just subscribed :)
Razer naga what switches to use ....i have one with problems
Loved the content, I did not like the music that almost muffled your voice. A little lower on the background music and perfect!
Is there a alternative way to remove it without soldering iron?
Where can i buy the solder mount u used?
When a mouse microswitch exhibits flakey clicks but still has decent mechanical clicking action then the contacts just need to be cleaned with contact cleaner such as Deoxit. I got my 4 Logitech Trackman Marble mice clicking properly again by using Deoxit on the offending switches. The microswitches in these things are half the size of switches in other mice and removing the top piece is quite difficult to do without breaking the tabs because the plastic is very hard and the fit tolerance between the top and bottom is tight. I also don't have a microscope to aid in this. At 55 the peepers ain't what they used to be.
You could introduce contact cleaner into the tiny gaps around the small actuator on top but that will be pretty tedious. I chose to get a pin vise (small handheld drill bit driver) and a 5/64" split point drill bit to drill a hole into one side of the top piece. The split point will help keep the bit from walking while trying to start the hole. Initially you need to apply good pressure on the bit just until a divot forms in the plastic. Then use only slight pressure after that or you risk suddenly poking through the cover and damaging the internals. You have to take this slowly and when you feel the drill bit grab a little it means you're about to pop through the side wall. This is where you need to hold back on the pin vise while turning to clear out the plastic "chips" from the inside of the hole and so that the bit doesn't crash into the internal parts.
The hole makes it much easier to introduce 3 or 4 drops of Deoxit into the switch. 3 or 4 drops is a lot for these switches but I wasn't confident one drop would be enough to make it to the contact points. It will easily wick into the hole. I only had a very small tube of it but it also comes in a plastic bottle that includes a thin needle applicator that would work better than the small tube I had. The Deoxit will start to wick out of all gaps on the switch. Just wipe off with tissue or paper towel.
Rakk alti, my right button is working fine but, if i soft hold it, it sometimes unclick and click, but if i hold it a bit harder, it doesnt unclick. WHAT SHOULD I DO PLEASE.
is it possible if you dont need a replace clicker and a heat thing?
"you need a soldering station"
me: died
Thank you very very much.
I did this to rival 100, unfortunate I failed on soldering :p BTW, can you show us the MM710 modified?
How do u open a gamdias demeter E2 mouse? The scroll wheel broke and I don’t know how to open the mouse to fix it
thanks i subbed love you
what switch button is silent ? or less sound clicking
I can't get the plastic strip and cord out do you need a tool to do so?
my mouse working ok but when i open browger its opening tab automatically how fix this problem ?
plz help
my left mouse button died in the middle of a rated valorant match and I don't have the funds to buy a new mouse so thank you for this tutorial my fellow kabayan
what to do if i ripped the switch's nanowire by pulling the switch without melting joints bc i didn't see them?
Hey, my mouse is the same as the 2, dollar mouse but it doesnt move. It skipas a lot of movements how do I fix this?
very good thank you
Here comes my inspirational dude :D
My mouse clicks work but when I move my most around on my most pad it was my most on the screen won't move everything else is intact except that you have any tutorials on
Could paper towel replace the suction pump?
Can you do another one for the scroll wheel? Sometimes the scroll wheel scrolls up and down at the same time.
the second christmas is gone i'm switching back to my good mouse ;-; didn't believe it was this easy to fix, buying a soldering iron and parts is WAY cheaper than replacing the mouse with the same mode... well about 35% cheaper anyway.
Modern gaming mice are way more complex then these old mice. Half of them have more than 10 buttons, internal RGB lighting and mechanical switches with optical sensors built into them. Corsair makes some of the most complex mice
I used one of the extra buttons mate.. It works like new.. Thank you so much❤
my problem with my mouse is each time i click its vibrating ik the spring is the problem no wonder i couldnt find any of this solutions?
How do I fix a T7 mouse it’s cheap but it has no screw holes so idk how to get into it
Thanks!
this worked but i almost broke my mouse, My soldiering iron was very shitty and did not melt the solder at all, i kept the iron on the mouse too long and almost melted other components, make sure you have the vice and a VERY high quality iron. The cheap ones will screw you over. I am lucky my mouse still works! almost melted the board.
Hey dude what school is the best when it comes to computer engkneerong here in the Philippines.
I find my mouse with no screws 💀
What about the middle button? Mine is not working properly, I have a Cougar Revenger
Oh man thank yoh so much!
I bought a razer 2 days ago, now i knocked it on the table just once and the right clicker gave out... this is just beyond dissapointing... i thought maybe it's because of some piece of plastic inside so i voided the warranty aswell...
I just had this idea that maybe changing the clicker might be a good option!!! It's so good to know that i can take a clicker from and old mouse and just replace it.
This is where the mouse really gets personal! Hahaha
so... it worked?
@@someguy9175 well... the mouse was a Razer Basilik X, it was the most fragile mouse i ever had, gave me alot of stress and instead of repairing it i took joy in crashing it to pieces.
my newmens wireless usb mouse is not working and what is the problem idk

well i did not acually know i had press on my so hard that i heard a snap, now its perfectly working.im crying in laughter🤣🤣
thanks so much for making people buy things when clearly their not really that much of A MECHANIC AND JUST TRYING TO FIX A MOUSE
Nice video I came from the usb mic instructable
Boa noite preciso de uma ajuda tenho um mouse sem fio e perdi o receptor. Há alguma possibilidade de comprar o receptor juntamente com o emissor, e substituir o emissor que fica dentro do próprio mouse?
Thanks bro
Thank u bro ....one prob which I faced was that to find a small star headed screwdriver :]
Does it work on Black PCB mouses ?
I enjoyed this
Good to hear! Thanks!
A wheel broke in my mouse. Went bought a new mouse.
Well done, you did well!
my mouse inside is broken and when i try and connect it back it dont work is it dead or is something else wrong with it
perfect, I will use a broken mouse to fix the good one. ty "I sub"
Very well made video! I think you deserve more subs and views for the quality of your content and your knowledge in techs inspires me :)
You can, but I dont think it's necessary for a large transistor like this. The pump also has a relatively low surge of current.
@@TechBuilder can you made a vid say how to fix my hp Gaming mouse m160 I play a lot of game with this mouse and it just broke
Bruh so simple thank you
My mouse still clicks but the body of it can't reach it, how do i fix that, ive tried putting it opening it and putting it back.
Do you have a tutorial how to make your mouse doubleclick?
is there a way to reverse this?
Hw you buy a New soldering iron
"First you will need a soldering station"
Me: Nope, i dont have that. (proceeds to close video)
What I learned today is either have an engineering kit to fix your mouse or go get another one,but nice video man
Can you do how to do the opposite of this for the bedwars community? Thanks
That 2$ mouse look good can you give me it’s link?(oh you already mentioned it on the description tnx)
