I've actually never watched this show, and seeing how different it is compared to the Madagascar movies and the spinoff show with the penguins, this upped the adult jokes by A TON. If I had never known these characters were from an animated Dreamworks kids film franchise, I would have assumed they were from an adult comedy franchise because the sexual innuendos are everywhere, and I love it. I'm amazed with how many gay jokes there are, and it basically being canon that Mort is gay and lusting after Julien.
I love how in the movies Mort was shown as just having a weird obsession with his king and attraction was only maybe implied, and then in the cartoon they just made him fully gay lol
You can tell some of the writers were just secretly putting their fetishes in the show. The diaper episode says it all. I also remember, someone on Tumblr said Sage is like if someone with a pec fetish decided to make a fursona. So I can’t believe he was just casually in a kids show.
