- Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward is known for his outstanding defense, having earned five Gold Glove Awards in his career. His favorite defensive highlight? The nearly impossible catch he made in a game against the Giants in 2016. The diving catch, and crash, in triples alley in San Francisco was heralded by former Giants manager Bruce Bochy as "the greatest catch he's seen ever made in that ballpark." J-Hey walks us through the moment in an all new episode of The Breakdown, presented by CDW.
"It was a rewarding catch as an outfielder but definitely a painful crash." - Jason Heyward

This is the best series I’ve seen on RUclips for a while. All the edits and production is just so good🔥🔥
I was at the giants game when he made that catch… it was so cool watching from the 1st base side. Go Cubs!
what stood out to me was seeing soler on the cubs lolz. JK tho absolutely phenomenal play by heyward, dude has always been special out there in the field.
I was at this game drove 6 hours to watch the future world champs it was crazy catch to see in person.
I love this series!
Honestly. The best right fielder of the 2010's defensively that is
I dunno about THE best, but he is up there.
Great content! Love this breakdown
That catch was better that Mays's catch. I've caught a ball before like the one Mays did. It ain't easy at all but I think Heyward had more obstacles to deal with along with a longer run. Both were absolutely great catches but Heyward gets my vote in this case.
Even Willie Mays said that wasn't his best catch.
I haven't watched yet, but I remember the catch in question. Ben Zobrist homered into McCovey Cove if memory serves right. That game was the only one that the Cubs won in San Francisco until they went back there in October. I remember watching that with my brother and my dad in May of that year.
His offensive numbers have been a disappointment, but he is a damn good outfielder.
Was…now he is average on defense. He would be dfa if not for that contract
@@billyv321 he's still a legend and deserves all the love
I was thinking this was the catch against the wall at wrigley in the playoffs
Do a video like this but on Jason Heywards World Series rain delay speech !
What is there to do a video on? Nobody outside the team even knows what was said.
great catch Mays don't ever do it again- Lou Brown Major League
The Best!!
Go cubbies!!!
Anyone else remember Reed Johnson’s insane catch against the nats
This guy does, oh man. Forgot about Reed!
Everybody does.
Can we get a schwindel grand slam against pirates please
He somehow managed to ground out to second twice during this video
😂
Waiting for The Breakdown episode of Jake Arrieta's no-hitter.

Terrible hitter tho
You got what you needed when he was in Atlanta
Dear Cubs, I spent too many decades of my life tolerating the "lovable losers" and "no place like Wrigley" BS. Put together a team that can win 100, or I won't buy another ticket. Call me if you need some help.
The Cubs trading their three most popular players then bragging about how they saved Wrigley
Spoken like someone who doesn't know wtf they're talking about. Congrats, casual.
I just wish he didn't ground out to the 2nd basement a million times a year
You live in a second basement.

I'd rather see him break down his insane contract. Like, how did he pull it off?
He was a 5+ win player before he went to the cubs. nobody could have predicted that he'd completely forget how to hit in his mid 20s
