Prestien is rite 😮
She looks so beautiful with her hair like that. And not to forget that brilliant voice. Her and Dean were amazing
I will never forget the day this album was released, and I went and bought it at Tower Records in New York City…and listened to the entire thing from beginning to end maybe 10 times that day. And its impact and dark beauty has never left me.
Thanks for watching and commenting Tim
Jesus Christ Toni was beautiful.
Criminally underrated band, shame they never got the fame and fortune they deserved, and Cuckoo was a class album as well.
@PatrickS.Tomlinson are you retar-ded?
Curve are criminally underrated and always overlooked. They set the blueprint for Garbage and Toni Halliday had a similar stage presence as Siouxsie. Amazing live act.
Because you gotta have good songs if you don't want to be underrated)))) Garbage had really cathchy songs and Curve had the sound. But the songs weren't memorable enough. Curve are great anyway)
one of my fav bands back then, and lot of their songs still give me goose-bumps, like this one here ❤
I tried to play their "Doppelganger" album for everyone I knew and then some. They mostly looked at me perplexed and turned back to the grunge stuff. Decades later Curve is FINALLY getting some love.
Back when I had the cassettes, nobody got it either. I was lucky to read an article about them in an actual magazine and bought Doppelganger on a whim. Decades later and I'm still discovering little patterns and details. Infinite stuff.
Remember them well when they first came on the scene in 91, there was some serious excitement in the music press about them. They were touted as the next big thing. The problem was that they fell between a few camps, they had elements of pop, baggy (as was then) against a backdrop of indie/ shoegaze. Shame because they did all the above extremely well. Also their lead singer Is eye candy.
Best music in the world.
A great band! Too much psychedelic and beautiful melodies with a very strong sound.
The best!!

Her vocal flourishes at 3:45 Mind ... blown!
This period in time was the last time anything different or interesting was around with guitar music.
This would be heaven if I ever saw this in concert.

Brilliant! Takes me back to a better day.
Glad you enjoyed this Mike.
I was 19 when this aired. I had such a HUGE crush on Toni Halliday.

My fav band
28 years ago today. I remember so much of 1993. It's one of the first years of my childhood I remember really well. It feels so different looking back over 3 decades to a time I remember instead of a time before I was born

Amazing upload, made me realise how much I miss this band. Kind of took music like this for granted at the time. Thanks for this.
“…from The Young Pretender, Toni Halliday” I love it.
“Just saying sorry will never be enough…”
omg omg beautiful TONI;) Thank you for this HDver. amazing gift.
You are so welcome!
This Band were the perfect example of the shoegazing guitar sound... I really love Curve!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for taking the time to comment William.
Thanks for sharing! Loved finding all your Curve stuff recently.
One of the first bands I ever saw live. Still a highlight getting booted off stage at Anson Rooms by Debbie while my mate was booted off by Toni. He didn't shut up about it for years.
Sounds as good today as it always did, and blows modern music out the water.
Great memories of good time I trust. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment, I do appreciate it.
So pretty, love her voice. Their sound is so unique.
OMG
This band is fantastic.
What the fuck?
Why didn't this band take off??
Love the balance
Very big big thanks for this video in this quality//// cooooollll........
You rule, thanks for sharing these!
Saw them at Brxton Academy soon after this. Fucking fantastic.
Fresh as ever!
@jack : Oh my word , I know my Crystal isn’t Garbage, because I asked God for the best #product . I Trust and thank you in advance for my windows #Lord 🙏🏼👍🏿👏🏾🙌🏽💖
Wow, never saw this before 🤟
Thank you!!!!!
You're welcome!
Hard to get all their albums on streaming, I wonder why. :(
They're on bandcamp if that counts as streaming
Cos streaming doesn't pay the artist (.0003 cents is not "pay", its an insult). Streaming is the WORST thing that has ever happened to the music industry.
@@ObsidianLife Good news is that they're finally reissuing their albums on vinyl so that's exciting to hear. So far they only have the EPs and Doppelganger and Cuckoo are gonna happen later this year
🖤🔥
Nice!
I'll never understand these "shows" where the music is a backing track but the vocals are live.
Me neither, there must be a technical reason, but no idea what or why
Seemed to be a European TV norm even into the 90s.
@@ScottishTeeVee Back then, videos like these were recorded to suit a variety of nonartistic purposes, such as press packs that were made available to agents and promoters to help them stage club line-ups and festivals. This was also made during the MTV era when music video broadcast markets were exploding into cable and it was simple enough for a non-mainstream band to order up extra copies of these videos for any of the numerous content-starved local and regional UHF music video shows who requested. And occasionally, some of these 'one-offs' would find it's way into rotation on a bigger channel. It wasn't unheard of for a video like this to explode onto a major broadcaster's rotation only to see the act scramble to replace it with something more deliberately made for the music consumer, or, if lacking financing to that end, strongly asking the broadcaster to stop playing it.
Accordingly, since these videos weren't initially financed with the expectation of being a revenue stream, their budgets were relatively low. In order to produce a video of an actual live performance, whether in a club or on a private soundstage, would likely require hiring a far more expensive producer, and likely renting a much more expensive studio or club, the expense of which would then have to be justified against an entirely different objective then the one originally aimed at.
Anyhoo, I adore the Cuckoo album. But I've never seen any truly live performances by them that really capture the relentless magic of it. But that's not uncommon among most of the studio albums I adore. When you layer the sound so much that you are forced to follow backing tracks during live performances, you must find a way to compensate for the unavoidable loss of liveliness. Few find the trick.
@@TIm_Bugge Thanks for watching and commenting Tim
fuck Yes.
what camera did you use to record this? Love curve!
Curve > My Blood Valentine
Come at me!
It's not live as in Curve are actually playing their instruments and Toni is singing. They're miming it live. You can tell by the way the band are flailing their instruments around, probably on purpose. 😁
I saw them live and they still flailed their guitars around.
If heaven doesn't sound like this, then I want to go to hell.
Toni is such a babe 🥴🥴 wow 😫
Thanks for watching and commenting
@@ScottishTeeVee I already love your channel! like seriously, you post the best songs and videos
Wow, no difference between the album track and this live performance.
The were fantastic live. Thanks for commenting Jay
Its not live
Toni. Hot much?
Is this shit overdubbed or something? The guitarists' ability to control the distortion/noise is mental, I've never heard live music in the noise/shoegazey style played so precisely.
playback again
Liked it.
Nice !
Thanks!
