Good Video! So sad that in Florida you don't have many roads where the Lucid can show its real stuff. Head north to the Carolinas for some twisty mountain roads. Lucid CEO Rawlinson didn't only design the Model S, he was head engineer at both Jaguar and Lotus. Lucid's chief designer did the current ND version of the MX-5 and their aerodynamicist was recruited from winning Red Bull Formula 1. It's a drivers car and wants to be driven with gusto on a twisting road. I love my Air GT. Over the last 18 months I have learned that it pulls just as impressively from 100, and handles mountain roads like a true European GT of the classic tradition. From the Rockies to the Ozarks to the Texas Hill Country my Air GT has been a joy, especially in that it can get to these fun roads with enough battery left over to "play."

Also, the test drive was rather short, as the salesman had to be with me, and we only could go down to Key Biscayne and back. I would love to push the Lucid on some real mountain back roads to see what it could do. That’s amazing to hear the Chief designer has that impressive of a report card too. Makes sense! Air GT owner. This was a good overall review. You hit on most of the high points, and touched on some of the low points but didn't dwell on them. I honestly would prefer you to review more on the range instead of the power, since the Lucid has the best range in the industry. Focusing on power/speed is old news, and it is the one trick pony that is Tesla. But doing launch mode on wet streets does show off the overall control you have, which is a good thing. Good Luck!
Hi there! Well I must say, I really appreciate all of that! I'll give credit where credit is due though, because I could tell that the Lucid's AWD had great stability, even though I was spinning, getting a little sideways, and had to counter steer. It still felt very stable though, and put down the immense power extremely well. I will definitely keep the range in mind for the next time I get my hands on one of these types of cars. I wish I could have really tested out the range more. However, this test drive offered at the Brickell City Center is literally only from the parking garage, right over the bridge to Key Biscayne and back. We were back in about half an hour. Regardless, 516 miles is honestly insane! I haven't heard of many cars at all that can do that, unless they have an upgraded fuel tank. And, this is electric! What has your real life range been like? Why would the LED headlights need cooling? LED lights produce a lot less heat than halogens. Not sure where you are getting your information bud, but you should probably do more of your own homework before you comment on someone’s video trying to correct them. 👍
@@DoubleClutchAutoReviews higher efficiency than halogen doesn't mean they run cool. Look into powerful LED flashlights and you'll see various approaches to managing heat. Peter Rowlinson shows the LED elements, including enormous heat sinks, in one of his tech talk videos on the Lucid channel and says the ducts are for cooling them. It's okay if you didn't take the time to properly research your claims -- just don't snap at people that want to correct the facts for others looking for accuracy. They're helping your channel. And sometimes they might be professional researchers who have researched the model ad nauseum so you may look foolish. Just saying

Ooohhh i see you got your hands on a Lucid! I see these somewhat often where i live, along with the Rivian trucks. I had no idea they were this crazy tho! I personally love how they look in person, they stand out if ur a car person. I was shocked by the trunk space tho, as well as the rear seat space. Like damn thats a ton of room 😮 u gotta promise me if Dodge ever releases the Charger Daytona EV that u review it 😂😂 that thing is crazy. Id like to see it race the Sapphire 😮😮😮

You just show up, sign some paperwork, and you can drive this car too! If you ever get the chance to go to a Lucid Studio, I would highly recommend it. 😁 I think they are very unique and cool looking too. The room inside was substantial! Overall, I really liked this car! Yes, it's very expensive. However, I think if you can afford it, it's an excellent EV option/competitor to Tesla. And you got it my friend! I will do my best to get a chance to review one of those. And if I do, you'll be the first to know! 😎

@@AgeraXXX Yeah man! It’s deceptively spacious. And that’s cool! What is it rental? Or was it a free test drive? I’m all set with renting unless I absolutely have to. A free test drive though? I’m in! Yes, it’s pretty cool that Lucid offers that. They figure they have insurance on the cars, and they make you sign a waiver that you were going to drive safely and at your own risk. I think it’s a great marketing tactic though, because then it gets people inside the cars and driving them with no strings attached. It gets people talking about it and potentially interested in buying one! It’s a tough market out there, especially with Tesla being so popular.
