I have noticed a really concerning trend of (my fellow) white people who have tons of energy for advocacy when it pertains to feminism or the lgbtqia community or gun violence or advocating for people with disabilities. I do advocacy work with a ton of them. (Advocacy is my full-time job) but when it comes to anti racism or issues of combating white supremacy, they immediately shut down. Even the ones i watched go to Black Lives Matter marches hit a limit when it comes to certain issues especially self reflection & admitting to their own racism & bias which is required in order to be actively anti racist. 1 example is Palestine. They had tons of energy for Ukraine a white country which had a fraction of the deaths & none of them were denied water & food,they never had all their hospitals bombed etc but when it comes to an actual genocide of brown people by white zionists its crickets. The amount of FAKE advocates, speakers social justice supporters is mind boggling. Thank you for your channel btw RUclips just suggested it to me & im enjoying listening & learning!
White just like black is a meaningless category based on phenotype and even then, the phenotype varies widely even within race e.g. a "white" Norwegian looks different from a "white" Greek and there are lots of different cultures/ethnic groups with different languages, religions, etc. Then you have other hodge-podge categories like Latino/Hispanic which cuts across races or Arab, which seems to be a mixture of races. It's just that being able to self-identify and be identified as others based on phenotype as "white" gives you an advantage.
