A special curry of wayanad area is, curry by using tender jack. It is presented in today's video. A speciality of it it, we don't require grated coconut. Usually we prepare curries by using grated coconut. But here we don't. The jack should be very tender, so it is ofcourse a seasonal dish. Spices used are red chillies, dhania, methi and hing(hing was already fried with sesame oil). The fried spices should be made paste by adding required water. The paste is added to cooked tender jack pieces and boiled well. At the end, a tempering is done. That is called "kada chakka kandal curry."
Ingredients:
Tender jackfruit
Turmeric powder
Salt for taste
Coconut oil
red dry chilli
Coriander seeds
Fenugreek seeds
Hing
Tamarind
Jaggery
Curry leaves
Water
for tempering

This kada chakka curry was great....love kada chakka.....or bread fruit.....can use it as simple dry curry or in sambar or masala curry....its tasty always.....kada chakka will not grow very big like the normal fruit chakka

With plain rice and curd thus semi dry dish is superb.Using spices which are usual for non.veg Almost similar dish is prepared in ANDHRA AND orissa , West Bengal....
