God this helped me so much. I'm currently in community college and when I look at internships and opportunities around me I just feel so overwhelmed and unprepared. I'm someone who learns best from shadowing others in an active environment and COVID has pretty much completely stagnated any feelings of progress. My grades have suffered, my motivation has suffered, and yet my passion to become successful in this field remains. I feel like for the past year I've done nothing that sticks to my memory, but this podcast gave me hope to keep doing it over and over until it does stick. Thank you

I'm there with you, this sounds like my exact experience. Stick in there, communicate often with your teachers and peers, and just make sure that you are spending time every day with your tools.

@@daidalos138 thanks Daedalus, I'm thinking of trying one of the new google certificates over the summer. I'm about to finish my first year of an Associate's degree at a community college so im still super fresh and have a ton to learn.

Today I recruiter contacted me regarding their company has an open position as a security awareness and training manager... I have been working as senior security analyst for years and I am struggling to apply for this position or not: I honestly believe the end-user awareness can improve the security significantly (I even wrote my post-grad thesis about the power of social engineering) and to hold short security awareness training is one of my task among many others.... But know I am hesitating because I think If I choose this specialized career pathway I will move to away from the technical side. What do you think? If I will move to this field, and I will not enjoy it , is it possible to go back to the more technical side and continue my career as a security consultant or architect?
