  • This video will help you to learn how to get rid of acne. We will start by explaining what acne is, afterwards we will dive into the best skincare practices and lastly we will discuss the most common acne treatments.
Acne or Acne Vulgaris (in latin) is a skin disease which is caused by the clogging of skin-cells and skin oil (called sebum) in a hair follicle. Hair follicles are the complexes in which hairs grow. The blocking of a follicle can lead to inflammation and ultimately it can cause acne.
Acne mostly affects skin with a high number of these oil glands. This type of skin is found on your chest, back and face. Acne is seen most in teenagers, but may persist into adulthood.
The primary cause of acne are genetics. Causing about 80% of all cases. However, heavy sweating, putting on a thick layer of makeup and squeezing your pimples, may also increase your chances on acne.
If you want to perfect your skincare treatment than follow these steps:
    1. wash your face twice a day with lukewarm water. Use mild soap to gently scrub and pad your skin dry with a clean towel.
    2. Only use water-based skin products which are fragrance free.
    3. Don't use oil-rich creams or ointment directly on your acne.
    4. Change your pillowcases more often (every 1-2 days).
This is the most commonly follow treatment program:
    1. Perfect your skincare.
    2. If this is insufficient your doctor might prescribe you Benzoyl Peroxide or a local retinoid (like Adapalene).
    3. For the next step your doctor might combine these drugs with a local antibiotic.
    4. If this is insufficient your doctor might switch the local antibiotic for an oral antibiotic.
    5. For the last treatment option your doctor could quite prescribing you the treatments mentioned above and start Isotretinoin.

I cut out gluten and diary completely and the difference is night and day.
Im shocked how i no longer get acne.
I notice I only get acne when i used to eat these things. Its crazy how much ive spent on creams. Creams only treat the surface. When the root of the problem is our diet which was causing inflamation to increase.
Acne is a sign of inflamation in the body!
One time i accidentally ate a slim jim which has wheat gluten and i had the biggest pimple the very next morning!

      Hi Um Abdullah,
The best way usually is to control your acne, because this ultimately causes the scars.
