My opinion,,, the Rf have to behave as if H never existed and get over it! They need to settle down and stop trying to do so much, Anne is well over retirement age and QE11 and now KC111 should have already put things in place years ago for when she retires. Years ago the RF didn't gallop off to do so much so why now? I think Charles has seen the writing on the wall for the Monarchys decline and it feels like he is trying to ' buy' goodwill to shore up their popularity for future years. I like the RF but feel that they are touching on a victim narrative themselves.

Have you seen Princess Margarets grandchildren? Very good looking, all of them. Princess Margaret was quoted as saying "my children are not Royal, they just happen to have the Queen as their Aunt" she said the same about her Grandchildren. Hear that Harry?? I did read Anne does around 370 engagements a year. Sometimes 3 a day. She really does quietly carry a huge load.
She actually does closer to 500 a year. She does more than anyone else. Publicly, we don't always hear or see them. Zara could step in for her mother. She is so loved & extremely popular.

I agree I believe Edward has had to step in due to the health issues with King Charles; Catherine, the Princess of Wales, and now Anne, the Princess Royal, recent health issues with her head injuries. It seems there are limited working royals that are available to help out. Prince William has enough on his plate with his royal duties as well as trying to care for his family. This has to do more with which working royals are available to fill in more so than the line of succession. Anne was known as the busiest royal and did a lot to step up to the plate to try to help her family before her accident. I send the Royal family continued prayers for healing; respect, and love. I do feel for Edward - I remember when he was expected to join one of the forces - he stuck it for a very short time, but then, in a nutshell, said enough was enough and he left. In my opinion, that was a very brave move on his part.
He has always been more interested in the arts. Yes he was brave enough to come out and say the military was not for him and make it public knowledge. He was never expected to be doing public duties to this extent, but is doing an excellent job - he was always good with people.
I do wish he’d have the opportunity to do more Windsor/Monarchy historical videos. He did a wonderful job decades ago.
@@emstirling-is4nu And the charming and wonderful Sophie is EDWARD'S 'strength and stay', as the late Queen referred to her beloved Prince Philip. Edward seems to have become a prince of stature since his early days - good for him. I will always remember that my late mum saw him wandering round Sainsbury's with his detective holding the wire basket with butter in when he was an undergraduate at Cambridge University (Jesus College), so when I think of Edward, I also think of mum and smile. (She had a crafty look in the basket!)

You have to give it to the RF, they don’t react to every situation but keep looking at the long term and out plans in place.
Edward wasn’t trained to be a working Royal unlike Charles, William, etc. I am interested in what are the Queen mother’s views on Harry getting his hand on her inheritance?

Edward never thought he would have to do so many engagements and it was pretty clear from their interactions that Edward and Sophie were close to William and Catherine. As time goes by and William steps into the role of King he is going to rely on his uncle much more just like King Charles has relied on Princess Anne.

Yes, to all three. I recall an interview Diana gave where she said William (at that time) wasn't happy about the prospect of his being king. She related that Henry said, "I'll do it! I'll be king!" IMO Henry's mental illness thought he and William had an agreement. It didn't help that Diana reinforced that delusion by calling him "Good King Henry." Henry is enraged that William "backed out" of their agreement. I had a brother like that. It's impossible to argue with someone who has created a scenario in their mind and actually believe it to be truth.
I love these auto writing videos, there is always a surprising element in them! I wonder if Edward will be involved with a sort of ‘regency type role’ for George when William steps up? Strange. I had been thinking about Edward, too, a lot lately, George as well and they both look very troubled. Edward looks very thin. A question for future reading - Are William and his family safe?
It’s understandable that she’s worried about Edward. Her own husband was thrust in a role he wasn’t expecting and his health really suffered. I imagine that she is worried that the same will happen to Edward.
It will be Samuel Chatto, the next Earl of Snowdon. He was recently at the state banquet, and many speculated that he may well be recruited into the working royals. He is bright and good looking.
I believe that until George comes of age there will be a protective supportive hand from a named relative, other than his Grandfather & Father. This was/is Anne. Due to her recent accident, I expect this now falls to the next trusted member of the family, Edward. This is quite a responsibility to guide/support the future heirs & not something he will have seen coming. I like Edward the Unexpected. I have everything crossed for him. It's good to hear that Margaret's family are helping.

I like these auto writings. Wish I could have heard her comment on markle! She always kept her opinions close to the vest, but her family knew. I don't think she appreciated the kerfuffle created by Diana. Then there was Sarah and her damp toes. Even though she was (mercifully) gone when meghan hit the family like a bug on a windshield her comments might be amusing!

Fabulous auto-writing. I've always thought Edward could be the "unexpected" king. I don't know how that would happen, though. Perhaps the QM feels so for Edward because her husband was thrust into a similar situation, unexpectedly.

Another fabulous Auto Writing, thank you. I think if you put aside the LOS and just think family dynamics the Edward comments make sense. Her adult Grandchildren are Charles, Anne, Andrew and Edward. Edward didnt have much to worry about being so young. Now all his siblings (like the Queen Mother said) are in trouble, it all sits on his shoulders and he must step up to help the family business and support the younger genration as it would be in all families with Uncles and Aunts. Just like we would look up to, respect and generally obey our parents siblings if mum or dad was sick. In fact, as it would in my family, I would look to my Uncle for guidance, remember, although there isnt a huge age difference between William and Edward, he would be seen as an authority in Williams life as an Uncle. You can also see the closeness William has with his Aunt Sophie and I suspect his Uncle Edward. Glad Harry isnt removed from LOS, not that I ever want him to be a King, just after hearing the Pat Tillman Auto Writing I am thinking Harry lost his way, drugs manipulation, effected his choices. Better to leave him on the outskirts in his misery. And if we are honest, all this BS by the Markles has had a positive affect on the Monarchy as people are stepping up to defend thier Royals like never before in my lifetime :-)

It’s a shame that they never asked much of Edward. They had to know that as the family aged, more would be expected of him. It was foolish of them all to not prepare him for the future. He should have asked to be more involved from the beginning. Sad, it’s going to be a tough road for him at this age.

I agree with you. There's a large age gap, so they should have seen this as a possibility. Maybe they were depending on all 4 siblings having large families, but each one only had 2 children and some have chosen not to be working royals.

so she doesn't want the RF to be embarrassed by stripping the 'prince' title from a "valid threat". yeah ok - that would be MUCH LESS embarrassing than allowing him to abuse them all and go merrily along his way with impunity. but then again, there are accounts of the queen mother herself being abusive to staff. so in that light, i can see her excusing his behavior.
Charles Armstrong Jones is one of her grandsons and when I looked him up he looks like he could be one of them. He has that vibe.

Charles is busy and undergoing treatment, Camilla is busy and looking after him, William is busy and looking after Catherine and the kids, Anne is recovering, Andrew is out, Harry is out. We're basically looking at Charles, Camilla, William, Edward and Sophie. Anne's work ethic has been phenomenal for decades. IMO she handled enough engagements each year to keep 2-3 people busy. I can see why Edward may be freaking outl. Thank heaven he has Sophie!
I am always impressed with the way the spirits are so respectful of even those perhaps they are not fond of. Makes me aware not to call Meghan and Harry rude schollish names as we are all Gods children (or Allah's or etc). Respect is such a part of this family.
Princess Margaret has 4 grandchildren. One is Viscount Linley: his sister is Lady Marguerite Armstrong-Jones.Then there are the two Chatto boys, sons of Lady Sarah Armstrong-Jones. Artists run deep in this family- they all seem to be involved in Art at some level. They were the late Queens nephews and nieces.

Margret only has one granddaughter. Lady Margrita Armstrong-Jones. And her grandson Arthur Chatto is in the Royal Marines. I can see him stepping up easily.
I dont think anyone wants the York girls in. Ones seems very naive and the other was a little to cozy with the "threat".

The Queen Mother had to 'step up' and hold the Monarchy together when her brother-in-law (Edward)abdicated. Her husband (who was very shy and had trouble with public speaking), never expected to be king and the Queen Mother - until her death blamed Edward for the worry it caused her husband and his early death (cancer again). Look back in history, it is ALWAYS the WOMEN who hold things together.
She was, by all accounts, a right royal b**ch. I don’t know the truth of that but whenever she smiled her eyes remained unsmiling, very cold and calculating. I never liked her, jmo.
