    So I just rewatched your video and noticed that I can see our boat in our slip at 14.12 minutes into your vdeo , in the furthest marina .. :-)

    Well it was like reliving our first trip to Howe Sound with our 98 Mac in 2002 Sunset cove is a tough ramp to launch off of and Plumper cove locally known as Thumper cove , never did figure out where you call home , we hauled Our Destiny to the coast for 12 years running (1800 KMs) to Madeira Park in Pender Harbour much better launch ramp there.
    We live in Wandering River Alberta and now have a 99 380 Catalina in Gibsons Marina .
    we can give lots of tips if your interested

      ushillbillies very cool that you have essentially done what we dream of doing. We are from camrose but lived in fortmcmurray for 8 years until recently. We have decided we like the catalina 400 and we really liked Gibsons. The catalina 380 is also a very nice boat and we considered one as well. It would be great to chat further about your experience with the 380. Send us a email. Mantey_5@hotmail.com . Cheers.

    I've been wondering how a Macgregor manages out on the coast. Looking forward to the rest of the trip. (Noticed you were eyeing the 36 foot Catalina already!) Another 10 feet of boat is always nice but those Macgregors sure are a practical compromise for the landlocked Albertans that will be in shallow prairie lakes most of the time.

      Your very right. We like to look at every boat lol. And dream of full time life aboard though on a different boat. For now the MacGregor is very hard to beat.

    I've been looking for videos about cruising in smaller sailboats. I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of your trip. I've had a Rhodes 22 for a year, but the longest trip I've managed so far has been two nights. I'm hoping to get in a few week-long cruises this summer. There's a few videos about my boat on my channel.

      Thanks man. We are hoping to get some more videos up in a couple weeks. We are actually sailing with a friend in Antigua at the moment so wifi is hit and miss. I checked your vids and look forward to watching them. Looks like you have some good projects.

    Wow, great scenery. You've got a great little set up there. Were there many Macgregor 26's to choose from in your part of the world?

    • @sailingthefreelife
      @sailingthefreelife  7 лет назад +1

      Neil Harper We did have a few to choose from but actually drove to the coast to pick this one up.

    You should specify this is the power boat version in the title. Specify 26S, 26D, 26M, 26X etc.

    • @juankrogulec759
      @juankrogulec759 4 года назад

      why?

    • @artsmith103
      @artsmith103 4 года назад

      @@juankrogulec759 There are many versions of MacGregor 26: 26D, 26S, 26M, 26X are the ones I can remember. Saying "Sailing" in the title and then showing a 26M or 26X motoring around is confusing and a bit disappointing. Title of "Motor/Sailing Our MacGregor 26M Around The Sunshine Coast", would be much better.

    • @juankrogulec759
      @juankrogulec759 4 года назад

      Art Smith sorry but is not relevant. You can sail in all those models. They are showing their experience only, it is not a technical post.

    • @artsmith103
      @artsmith103 4 года назад

      @@juankrogulec759 It's relevant to people searching for sailing vids of MacGregor 26D, 26S, or some people say Classic.

    The Sunshine Coast is a lie. Drove into the clouds at Jasper went to Powell river drove back to Alberta came out of the clouds at Jasper.

    can you sail on the ocean with a McGregor 26? Is't it too small of a boat?

    • @sailingthefreelife
      @sailingthefreelife  5 лет назад +1

      It's not a ideal boat for ocean sailing not because of size but because of its design . Anytime a boat can be easily loaded and moved with a small truck it will not be as sea worthy as a heavily built boat that has no consideration to being moved on land.

    I watch lots of sailing videos and for your own sake I have to say many of your shots are too long and repetitive. That makes it very boring. Will watch the other segments though. Thanks.
