  • In this video I show off my Symphonic (Funai) DVD/CD player, model No. WF104 (a.k.a. No. SD200E, Funai SV2000 No. WV205, and Magnavox No. MSD115). This is a very light and inexpensive DVD/CD player manufactured in 2004, but in reality it was a very well made and durable player for its time.
Symphonic is a brand that was known for producing electronics, including TVs, DVDs and VCRs, but also produced other audio and video products. It was a Japanese company established in 1981. They were known for producing affordable and reliable electronics. In the late 1990s and early 2000’s they faced financial challenges and ceased operations in the early 2000’s.
Funai Corporation, Inc. manufactured and marketed the Symphonic brand, at least in the late 1990s to early 2000’s, and even manufactured lines of VCRs and VCR/DVD components for Magnavox, Emerson, Sylvania, and others. After the Symphonic brand died out, this exact DVD/CD player was manufactured again in 2006 under the Funai SV2000 brand, model No. WV205.
The remote control for this unit is NB000UD, NB050UD, NB079 or NB091.

Sorry, I don’t know. You might be able to find it with an internet search.

Some of the cheap models were region free, believe it or not lol. But somewhere along the line, that changed. I think it depends on when it was manufactured. The older it is, the more likely it was region free. A lot of lower end DVD players were like that.
