All those saying that this is boring football, well guess what? Burnley don't have the financial power to compete with most teams in the league and their main aim is to stay up in the PL, not to win the title. Their style of play is effective and will help them achieve their goal. Stop expecting tiki-taka or high octane football from every team.
I think it's only happen in football, where the fans doesn't really appreciate defense. Other sports such as american football, basketball, etc is really appreciate defense as much as they appreciate offense. It's entertaining to watch different teams playing differently.
A random guy You will like don't win by much either and you're right it's not exactly entertainment. No shots at all in the 2nd half against Liverpool. 75th minute until the first shot on target against Huddersfield
When are you guys gonna incorporate stats such as Expected Goals (xG) into this series? I think xG (conceded) would've helped even more in explaining how effective Burnley's low block is in limiting (quality) scoring chances for their opposition. Love the series. Love the channel. Keep up the amazing work Tifo!
Bus parking doesn't mean that they can't attack...morinhos teams use counter attacks very well and it always helps to have goal machines like Ronaldo or messi
In my opinion, playing two up front with wingbacks is the best way to unlock a low block like this. The two strikers forces the centre backs to split allowing balls to be crossed into space
Thank you so much for this video. This helped me understand myself and how I play as a center back as I don’t fit in many systems, however this one fits me perfect and helps me understand what I am strong at and need what I need to improve to become better in other systems
Dyche’s defensive organization works amazingly in a league system, but probably won’t help you too much in a cup run. Still have so much respect for the man tho
Do a video on Valencia or Inter or other surprise packages in Europe, would be a nice mix-up since you haven't really covered much outside the Prem this season
I wondered why Salah and Mane had such poor records against Burnley, now it makes sense that the low block and narrow defence line limits shots from angles as you say. Firmino has a much better record, maybe due to playing in a central attacking mid/striker role? It makes me wonder whether Jota might do well in the same position this Saturday.
It’s like Dyche has a Toyota Carolla while Gaurdiola, Mourinho, Klopp, and Conte are racing with Lamborghini’s, Ferrari’s, Bugatti’s, he’s doing the best with what he has, can’t be them.
Hei, i love your videos, just can't stop watching it. Can you do tactical explained video for Michael Ballack ? The underrated one but he's key player for Chelsea and Germany :)
Our style is ever so slowly evolving, not helped now by our most creative player Robbie Brady being out for the season, it's a huge blow. I think a top 10 finish would be incredible when you look at the size of the town and our budget (no fancy foreign billionaires), and the longer we spend in the premier league the better players we can buy. We simply don't have the players or the money to be trying to outscore teams, anyone saying defending is boring really doesn't understand the realities of the premier league.
Maybe it's just me, but I love watching defensively sound football. Chelsea's main defensive pairing in 2004/5 (John Terry and Ricardo Carvalho) were so damn fun to watch.
hey tifo could you please do an analysis of inter milan and how they are currently doing well under spalleti.. id like to know icardi and borja valero's role in how they play ive seen that they are key players to his tactics
Burnley is just another typical English club who only park the bus and play long balls. Mediocre English teams are much worse than teams in Spain and Germany.
@@ay613 😂😂. Remember we were talking about Palace? I think you were saying Viera isn't that good iirc. I'm so happy we got Dyche. He's got 50% more points per game than Lampard with no striker.
Burnley are having a ridiculously lucky season, xPoints puts them in the relegation zone right now, should have conceded way more goals this season, hopefully soon they will stop getting so jammy and start going down to where they belong.
Surely the high number of shots on target faced and low percentage scored means the defenders aren't actually that good and its their goalkeepers playing amazing???
Partialy, the defenders are positioned so that they cover the sides of the goal, so when a shot comes they can aim for the sides of the goal, but a centre defender is standing in front of it, or the middle, where the keeper is. This creates of lot of easy chances for heaton or pope to save.
It's not flawed. This is just shallow analysis. Those are fundamentals they explained that have been around for decades and decades. Many low budget teams play like this, but not many are as successful. There is something else to it that they didn't cover at all.
+Hosea Jackson And Burnley are sixth for their second consecutive season in the PL. And that woth less money, experience and worse players. Dyche is better than Mourinho.
Boring. Yawn. Regressive football. They might be doing okay. But even Leicester almost screwed themselves over and nearly got relegated not too long ago.
killercaos123 Dude, Burnley cannot just aim for top 4. They are perfect, almost, defending wise - and it helps relieve pressure from strikers. Because guess what? They do not have MSN or BBC up front. Also also, Burnley ARE doing well this season, even if it is, as some expert called it, through "Boring...regressive football." Now shut the fuck up and think before you start yapping.
Where do people think Burnley will finish this season?
Top 10 easily
5-10th
9-12th
Football Hub not many points being arsenal and utd
Top 8 or 7

+Rikpratim Mazuumdar various playing styles is what makes watching football worthwhile!
Rikpratim Mazuumdar tiki taka isn't the only attractive football style you fool there are loads more
Rikpratim Mazuumdar then you have chelsea
Bryan the chelsea fan coming from a Chelsea fan
Conor Lewis shit reply nothing to do with my comment at all pathetic if you don't have anything valid to say than don't reply to me
Excellent video! I’ve always thought Sean Dyche was a fantastic manager but I never knew how his system actually worked.

Tommy Toar Huberto Purnomo utd fans appreciate defensive football. They dont really have much choice tbh

Exactly.
Play without two wide men and Burnley will overload you on the wings unless you have two Diego Costas in your team as strikers haha

Paco Piedad No cup run, to be realistic, for Burnley. They are doing well in the League, which is a pragmatic and preety succesful campaign.

Good work Dyche. I appreciate his strategy. Shades of a Mourinho style; defensive, reactive, collective football.

Sean Dyche is Mourinho without money.. He needs a bigger Club
+student helper which club do you think would be the right step up for him?
Tifo, I think he will do a better job at clubs that want a winner and not possession football.. Like Chelsea or Arsenal. He will work wonders
I think he's doing fine where he is. Plenty of managers step up too soon only to fail
student helper you're a fan of very defensive football then
West Ham or Everton

No
You get a bus and park it in front of the goals and that’s it
So it's somehow like parking the bus
rising raisings that's why Sean Dyche is called the ginger Mourinho
I see it more as counter attack football
It's literally parking the bus. Defenders used as human shields to protect the goal, this is exactly the definition of parking the bus.
Is this same as parking the bus?
Yes but all fkn game
Can you explain about Liverpool's defence too? Thanks
