Ah!!! Watching this video I got so excited for the One Piece cover even though I already own it myself!! 😂 I love it so much! I didn't intend to buy any of the One Piece leather ones but then I saw them in person in the Hobonichi reveal event in Japan and I fell in love! I also thought that it is a cover that you can easily carry around without it being too cartoony! I have many cartoony looking staff but I want them for my own eyes only hehehe. I also got the two other One Piece color covers! But this black is still my favorite!!! 😍
And I love that it says "vivrecard" inside. Have you encountered the vivrecard thing in One Piece yet? At which arc are you? I didn't grow up watching it but I started watching it as an adult with my little brother and we both loved it so much! Starting One Piece was among the best decisions I ever made!! 😃😃💝
Ahhh the fact that you got to see them in person!!!! I totally get you with the cartoony stuff being for your eyes, that’s exactly how I feel! I have a ton of cute stickers and stuff, but I like to keep the things I carry or my home looking clean and more grown up 😂
I love the other two covers for the shows sake, but the black one was the one I needed to have!
Nooo I haven’t gotten to the vivre card! I know about it from friends, but I’ve begged them to not reveal any no spoilers. I’m passing through the second season. I’ve been slowly watching the show, I just want to enjoy every second 🥰 I usually binge through anime, k dramas, everything. Although, it I feel like One Piece would be the best show to binge with all the episodes! Which arc are you on????

I did!!! 🤭 I saw it at launch and couldn’t stop thinking about it! I really had sit down and decide if I wanted it especially since it’s my first real hobonichi 😅 but I figured any A5 notebook would fit in there too if I didn’t love it. So after stressing for a while I just went for it. I have zero regrets 😍 You MUST get one for your A6 it’s too perfect!

Dear Paris, So excited to see your name pop up in my feed. I very much look forward to EACH and EVERY video as you prepare for 2023. I bought the Hobonichi Weeks Mega and a Naya Paperie cover in "Spiced Cider," the A6 (going to use my Hobonichi "Reflect" cover again) and A6-5 year journal this year with the Hobonichi "Search and Collect" cover. While I did consider the Cousin for a bit, I worried about not having enough content for each day. But...after watching your video and hearing your delight, it certainly has me reconsidering. Can't wait to see how you decorate as your planners are always so beautiful. Have a blessed Thanksgiving, my friend!❤

Your cover choices are gorgeous, you have such good taste!😍 I purchased the Search and collect in hopes that it would fit my Hibino, sadly it didn't. I was also searching for the Reflect in A5 as that cover is so cozy, again no luck. That's when I decided to just splurge and get the one I have. I'm so excited to use it. I've already started decorating it a bit 🤭 I couldn't help myself! I don't know if your side of the world celebrates Thanksgiving, but we are sure busy prepping for tomorrow. When you said that the cousin is the big daddy of hobonichi's, i was enthusiastically nodding my head! I know some people don't like the colors in the book but i love love love the cousin, especially with all its colors and quirks ❤ And ofcourse the Going Merry logbook maybe one of the most thought out planner covers Ive ever seen - period!! Loved your video 🥰
I love it too! The colors aren't that wild to be put off by it and it does add so much personality vs the boring black or gray. I feel like the colors are soft enough to work with anyway, I'm already analyzing my stash to see what works with January. And the Going Merry cover im so obssessed!!! Paris, I ❤ your excitement with your new planner ! I feel like a real dummy because I’m clueless about what you said regarding the ship and the show and the map reference. I’ve used two Hobonichi planners just like this one and two of the Weeks but I am very much in need of an education! 😁 For 2023, so far, I’ve not gone with Hobonichi and am planning on using TNs but geez I feel myself weakening after this video. I’m still using my tns for my usual stuff (memory keeping, prayers, writing etc) but I do need an actual planner this year. The weeks was supposed to be that planner, but didn’t love the weeks so much. Although, I feel like it’s the perfect health planner - especially for dr visits.

Hey Paris, thanks for making me feel less of a weirdo myself! When unboxing my first Japanese paper ever - a Hobonichi Techo A6 notebook, like 4 weeks ago - the first thing that struck me was the smell. It's like a new carpet, and somehow exotic and exciting. And then, that texture! And the different grid colours .... man, I'm struggling to NOT buy a Cousin as I type this (because I already have a weeks, and a TN). You made it even harder for me ....
It does smell sooo good!!!! I never loved the smell of paper so much!🤣 that is the perfect description the new something smell, you know this paper is from somewhere else. You should buy a cousin!!! I’m partial tho I love it more than the weeks! I would take the cousin and tn all day!

I really wanted to buy a 5 year! Maybe I’ll give up my memory keeping in my tn next year and do it in a five year. I love the idea of 5 years in one book vs all the inserts. It gets overwhelming to store. Should I purchase it for 2023 and use the weekly inserts for something else?? 👀
@@FrenchyInFocus I will say, I do love doing my TN memory keeping more than the 5-year...I'm trying to stick it out for 2023 so I can see how I like doing year #2 in it. It's definitely a huge commitment that sometimes stresses me out :\

I started watching one piece late September (about a week before the hobonichi one piece release). Got the a6 leather cover and I love it!
About the pens: I think the dry time with fountain pens are actually quite decent (I only use fine nibs and I've never had problems with them). The pens that literally never dry on this paper are some of the gel pens. I once wrote several lines with a sarasa clip vintage, left the planner open and tended to other businesses. When I came back at least 10 minutes later, they still smear.
So now I go fountain pen only for all the tomoe river paper.

Thank you for letting me know, especially the sarasa pens 😊 I use EF and F fountain pens pretty much exclusively, except a receipt or something so I'm glad it won't be too much of an issue 😅

I didn't pay attention to Hobonichi 2023 too much, but you let me want to get the Usagi weeks and use them as a health planner.
I am also looking at the Usagi hon, but that needs to wait until December, and I feel it is too late for me to set it up.🐰🐰🐰

Ohhh I've never see the Usagi Weeks or Hon! I can't find it. Is it similar to hobonichi? Im setting up my hobonichi in December, I tried to set up early, but it feels so weird, since the planner doesn't truly start until January.

Hon(本) is a new design. Everything is the same as the original(A6 version) but comes with a hardcover (same as some weeks' covers). They will list it on 1st Dec.
I got some mini-series Nolty for my TNP and will use them as notebooks.
I have two monthly, one weekly in TN stander size and one weekly in TNP.
One undated Take a Note in TN stander size and set an undated 12-month diary (TN stander size) inspired by Midori's new lineup.

Business on the outside, fun on the inside 🤣The cover is sooo gorgeous and classy looking. That's my issue with a lot of Hobonichi designs - there's no way I would whip them out at my work meetings. I'm so glad they have the Cousin in English now! I wonder how the quotes on the pages will be. Sadly, I think I won't be doing any Hobonichis this year (I'm sure I'll regret it later!). I still have to figure out what I'm going to use for my planners for 2023, apparently I am waiting until the last minute! I'm going to Kinokuniya in 2 weeks and want to see what they have in-store before I make a decision. I remember last year they had a bunch of Japanese planners from brands I didn't see elsewhere and I'm curious about them.
I hear you, even though a lot of covers are so cute. I can't roll up with something cartoony or cutesy on it, so this one was perfect (as long as no one opens and looks at the stickers inside) You have to do a hobonichi!! I was so surprised too about tomoe paper. It's super soft with FP It's true but you're right when you said that paper take a long Time for dry. I discovered it alone and oooh damn so much smudges in my Hobo weeks 🤣.

Yess!!! Lavender, it was made for me!! 😍 Ah yes it does take a long time to try and apparently some inks smudge even months later 😖 but so far none of the inks I use are bad with tomoe river paper. Do you like your week???
@@FrenchyInFocus me too Paris me too even sarasa and Muji gel Pens don't work ! I'm so confused...my first and my last Hobo weeks I think. Paper looks so fragile too. I need strong stuffs 🤣. I will use it but not really fan. I prefer Midori or stalogy paper so far.

But It's really strange because I have à lil' Hobo a6 notebook and I don't have any smudges 🧐 and all my FP work so so well. But in my Hobo weeks...I messed up my pages !
@@Ephemeryde Oh no there has to be one ink that's okay. The whole reason I bought these planners is because of Tomoe River paper. I love that paper except in the hobo weeks and the Midori Hibino. I messed up my hobo weeks pages much! I was so mad I tore the papers out! I will NEVER buy a weeks again! It's so weird that your hobo a6 note book is good. I tried the cousin paper on the test page and so far so good., it definitely behaves better. I wonder if the weeks paper is just different? It's definitely a different color. 🤔 Hmm the hibino is also a cream colored paper. I wonder if Tomoe cream paper is no good?? Hmmm we will see😤
@@FrenchyInFocus yes ! I Really don't Understand ! I love my Hobonichi a6 too much the paper is so smooth ! I finished two inserts in my TNP. Now I'm into the a6 Hobonichi because I finish my TNP inserts very quickly. The weeks makes me crazy Paris ! Crazy ! I write without any pleasure...my pages are so so ugly. I write like a lil' pig in a very fast way. I'm ok because It's just for planning but no more Hobo weeks for me. I'm done.

I went with the a6 size but quickly regretted not getting the cousin! I’ll stick with the a6 for 2023 and probably upgrade to the cousin for 2024 haha
That's kind of what happened to me with the midori Hibino, I thought the two pages would be enough and that I wouldn't miss the weekly pages, but I was so wrong. I thought of the A6 cousin first, but I wasn't taking anymore chances 😂 I hope the a6 still works out for you😊
