    Awesome season of training, races, videos and diaries! You are 100% the best channel for ultra running on youtube. Can't wait for what 2024 brings. Love this line up of products also. I am in the market for a new headlamp so that one you used in Moab is the one for me. I also like the idea of one double A right in the front. I used to think that design looked dumb but after using one with 3 AAA batteries in the back.....I get it now. First, the strap would be so much more comfortable and no fumbling with batteries. Pitch black mountain 80K into a race trying to fumble with multiple little batteries......that will never happen again:) Have a great Christmas and safe travels out east!! 2024.....here we come!!

    On the sock side, have you given XO Skin socks a try (toe or non toe version). They are by far my favorite! Super light, breathable AND super durable. Their shipping to Canada is a bit of annoying and pricy, but I have several pairs that I've been wearing for years now that show no sign of wear so worth it.

    Haha we seem to have similar tastes in gear :-D Love my older more durable Drymax socks (not so much the softer new ones). If the ultra 3s had pull tabs to make it easier getting in n out they'd be great, unfortunately Genesis are too wide with too much volume for me. Ah lake district - memories of rain, poor vis n midges. I've also got those arm sleeves. How was the wind in Patagonia? I'll be trialing the Adv Skin 12 this year and see if I prefer it to my Ultimate Direction packs. I´ll stick with my carbon Zs, though may look at Salomon or Decathlon if they break. Cheers & Happy Christmas!

    • @JeffPelletier

      Hah, sounds like it! The wind was pretty wild in Patagonia. Probably not unlike the worst weather in the Lake District.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  8 месяцев назад +1

      I don’t use calf sleeves, mainly because I’m not really a fan of compression wear for anything other than recovery or for when travelling (eg compression socks).

  • @hernil92

    How is the Salomon Pulse Belt with the flask? I need a belt for the runs where I want the flask and filter but don't need to bring the whole adv skin 12 pack. Got a bit overwhelmed with all the options from Salomon on the belt side. I just want something where the flask won't bounce (it bounced way too much on another belt I had laying around) and room for a few bars and some keys. Thanks again for a fine video - I always know I'm in for a little treat when you publish new stuff!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  8 месяцев назад +1

      I typically use a smaller flask which I find fits much better - I think it’s 325 ml. The larger one is a little tight!

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  8 месяцев назад

      I’m not a huge fan of UD packs, mainly because they only have one flask pocket up front, and that one is too short for a Salomon flask (it flops around).

    How long/how much water will those Salomon filters filter before needing replacement? I haven't been able to find this on the website...recently found your channel and have been enjoying the content, cheers.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  4 месяца назад

      I believe it’s rated for up to 1,500 litres. But like any filter, the flow rate does slowly diminish. Bacteria can develop over time as well unless you’re really careful. So I would recommend budgeting to replace it every season or two.

    • @JeffPelletier
      @JeffPelletier  7 месяцев назад +1

      That will be true with any high powered headlamp. The bulbs, which are manufactured by a third party, generate quite a bit of heat.

    Hi Jeff, thanks for your great videos! I have a quiestion regarding the Salomon XA Filter Cap. How long can I use them? Are the produced in a way that I need a new one after 100l or will they last forever? And are they as expensive in Canada as in Europe? They are at 60EUR here what feels a bit expensive for a small plastic part...
