"LOOK AT THIS PHOTOGRAPH. IT'S A PHOTO OF A PHOTOGRAPH. EVERYBODY IS A PHOTOGRAPH."
IM SERIOUSLY IN TEARS.
+stolenbaby2008 That jerk will be the death of me some day.
+Rocked Reviews I really need a full track of that
+stolenbaby2008 Best part.
Welp, I died--but for good reason. All the right reasons...
best version of a nickleback song. they should play that at a concert just to screw with people
Here's an odd "Regretting the Past" request:
Go through your entire album/CD collection, and pick out the album you personally most regret owning.
Then finish the review by wrecking it so you never have to listen to it again.
+firefly4f4 He might have already done that with A Thousand Suns.
Given he liked a few songs on that one, but the concept and interludes irked him (at least as I saw it), I'm willing to bet that's not his most regretted one.
The kind you look at and are like, "WHY DID I BUY THIS?"
darkrage6
I posted this message before the Risk RTP was released (Feb 25 vs May 23)
I do a couple discs like that.
Austyn weezy I can see why someone would regret liking adema but I still like them a lot haha
“I’m always happy when I see another critic in agony”
Yeah Doug, we read the google doc.
I was just about to say that
Oooooooooooooohhhhhhh
DAMN
Just remember, Canada may have Nickelback, but they also have Rush.
but they also gave us Bieber and Drake...
+JackTheBassPlayer he's boring
+JackTheBassPlayer Indeed
We at least gave you Rush, Kataklysm, Strapping Young Lad/Devin Townsend, Gorguts, Annihilator, Cancer Bats, Voivod, 3 Inches Of Blood, and The Agonist.
+NickTheCritic1 Arcade fire anyone ?
*guy over hearing this question.
" Fucking hipster !"
I actually hope a great book writer takes all the Nickelback songs and write a murder mystery of the Denney's Killer.
I'm actually hoping a great musician covers them all and puts them into a concept album. That and "Eat You Alive" by Limp Bizkit.
I wrote a comment saying that ‘Eat You Alive’ was about the Denny’s Stalker when he’s angry.
Dude, that's a great idea!
Don’t forget buckcherry’s songs
Best pfp here 🗿🗿🗿🗿
Ugh...
I once lived in a student dorm. On the opposite side of my room, there lived a boy younger than me, who acted like a tough guy. He dressed like "rocker" and was really cocky.
One night I was on the computer with my headphones on. Suddenly I was like "What is that music he is playing too loud?". I took my headphones off and heard Nickelback. I almost couldn't hold my laughter.
Majority of other students were about 5-6 years younger than me. That student was 17 at the time. Probably living that phase, where you are still searching your identity. I sincerely hope that he doesn't turn into a jackass, who humms "Photograph", while commiting minor crime...
That dude sounds like me lol (minus the committing crimes part)
"There's a photo in a photograph" guy should have his own 10 hour loop
Edge Video & Photography “Everybody is a Photograph” 😂😂😂😂😂
ATRR sold just as menu copies as the ENTIRE Alice In Chains discography.
Me: ... but they had like 7 albums or so?
& even their weaker albums were WAY better than ...
& 3 times the discography of A Perfect Circle!!!
Me: *flatlines*

"Oh, I'm always satisfied when I see another critic in agony." Oh, the irony...
That hasn’t aged well
Don't be upset when you hear Photograph. Just go listen to Def Leppard's Photograph.
Both are better than Ed Sheeran's Photograph
Some Guy listening to their lyrics is like clapping with one haaaand!!
How'd you know I like Anthrax, kappa
Listen to Weezer's Photograph
Def Leppard are criminally underrated. Both Pyromania and Hysteria are genuinely fantastic albums
what? Dirt didn't sell that much? I am genuinely surprised as it came out in the hight of popularity of grunge.
+TheZooropaBaby I was surprised too. Unfortunate. :/
+Rocked Reviews 14:20 Is it weird I kind of liked this one?
"Far Away" was THE high school slow dance song of its time... think about that the next time you complain about "Thinking Out Loud" by Ed Sheeran; it could be so much worse.
Doug Glassman I'm sorry...but I love Far Away. I can see why some people would think it's too cheesy, but I love it. Thinking Out Loud was unbearably boring
I'll never get the hate behind ed sheeran
I agree. Far Away isn't the best song of its kind -far from it - but it's way better than Thinking Out Loud
Invisibilly
He went from talented alternative pop to garbage pop selling itself with a badboy image.
nick supreme Ed Sheeran bad boy image? What? Everyone I know And their dog take Ed Sheeran as one of the nicest musicians ever
Dylan Yung
shape of you video is what I refer to. He appears to be trying to sell himself as a bad boy. I know that he's not in real life though, but still
If you hear a song that you think might be Nickelback but has effort put into it, it's probably a Seether song.
@Zoey Winchester was?
My parents loved this album, it was played fairly constantly in the car whenever we traveled. When I got an iPod for my 10th birthday it meant not having to listen to Nickelback on the way to the beach, for which I am very, very thankful for. Normally I can trust my dad's music taste, not when it comes to Nickelback.
"Fun" Fact: Side of a Bullet is actually a tribute song to Dimebag Darrell from Pantera. The song focuses on the shooting where Darrell died.
I... I wasn't expecting to see Doug. Well played.
***** It's a nice surprise (;
ladydiskette What about Some Jerk with a Camera.
I mean, Rocked is part of Channel Awesome.
@TheTexanHusky is he not anymore?
Well Rocked was a part of Channel Awesome by the time he made this video
Look at this photograph. It's a photo of a photograph. And it's out of this photograph. It's another photo of a photograph. There's a whole bunch of photographs. And the photo is a photograph. And this photo is a photograph. Everybody is a photograph. It's AAAAA some photograph. Every photograph attained it from his front door. He's a photograph that isn't on the bedroom floor cause a PHOTOGRAPH, PHOTOGRAPH, PHOTOGRAPH, PHOTOGRAPH.
I'm not too sure if any of those lyrics are right.
I'd love to see CoverKillerNation in on one of these.
I'd die happy.
Or ARTV and RanterInShades.
Go on RanterInShades channel, click playlists, then Whats Wrong With, and look for Nickelback. RanterInShades and I both agree with each on his video on Nickelback. Watch the whole thing.
+TheJbhmetal He was very fair in that video
God, just hearing Savin Me and Far Away for the first time in years really brings back regretful memories...
This album outsold ALL of Alice In Chains’ albums?!?! This world makes no sense.
Random fact: Layne was still alive when silver side up was released
That was just about perfect. The only thing missing was a Todd in the Shadows cameo.
***** We'd all love for you too. Hopefully you'll get your wish.
Also this album by Nickelback sold more copies than the entire discography of System of a Down combined
S.O.A.D. 6,700,000
Also it sold roughly four times as much as Dream Theater's entire catalog, at least in the US. DT's catalog is comprised of 14 studio albums, one EP, and eight live albums. Yes, I know they're not for everyone, but it doesn't seem right to me that Nickelback has multiple albums that went platinum and Dream Theater only has one album that even went gold.
@@DinsdalePiranha67 And I know I'd much rather listen to Dream Theater. Or Transatlantic, whom I'm assuming has sold even less.
OH DEAR CHRIST!!! THAT'S JUST DIABOLICAL!!!
AKA, Luke gives us all the right reasons to hate "All The Right Reasons".
Look at this graaaaaappphhhhh
Rych3rInLyf3 nippleback album sales are bad

Chad's soul is fucking dead.
awesome Nostalgia Critic cameo :D
Honestly, this does seem like Rocked's Foodfight
and the the others
Yes Nostalgia Critic is fucking funny
Tom McGlone I'd say Some Jerk with a Camera is more funny.
He saved the Photograph part
At least he dosnt sound like Scott stapp

To be honest, I would rather listen to Creed than Nickelback. At least there were attempts to write something a bit compelling in Creed, albeit not always on point.
@Whosur Caddy I would rather listen to Maroon 5 then Creed anyday. I hate Maroon 5, but at least they dont bore me to tears.
SAAAAAAYEEEEXXX
I'm so glad to listen to Austin's rock radio station KLBJ. I remember some one called them and asked to play any Nickelback, and they said "You're taste in music sucks".
So there still is good radio out there.
But... But Alice In Chains is fantastic. Noooo!
All The Right Reasons, for all the crazy interpretations the songs have, is kind of a guilty pleasure to me.
Sure, while "Follow You Home" and "Next Contestant" are hard to reinterpret, they at least have some decent instrumentation to them. However, I did like songs such as "Savin' Me," "Animals," "Follow You Home," "Side of a Bullet," "Someone That You're With," and "Fight for All The Right Reasons" for their catchy instrumentation. I liked "Far Away" and "If Everyone Cared" despite their cheesy songwriting and overdrawn melodrama.
My least favorite songs were "Photograph" and "Rockstar" because of how laughable they're written.
I'm not saying that All The Right Reasons is a masterpiece, but I don't think it's absolutely horrible either, like many people may act like is.
Like I said before, I like All The Right Reasons as a guilty pleasure.
I understand why you don't like it, and I can respect that.
Very well said, agreed
I unironically love Nickelback and I don’t care either. And I love “Photograph” and think it’s pretty nostalgic, especially the chorus. I do hate “Rockstar” but that’s the only Nickelback song I’ve heard that I’m not fond of. “Animals” is definitely a highlight from this album.
As I grown to loathe their songs. I still cherish those dumb days when I was young singing Nickleback songs on repeat.
My opinion on Nickelback: the guys are good musicians but they should be writing better music. I've never really had a problem with this band and I actually like a lot of their old music. That being said, this album is a mixed bag for me and this is where I drew the line.
Dark Horse and onwards is pretty bad. The band really had potential.
I like their first two albums: “Curb” and “The State.” I also kinda like their latest album, “Feed The Machine.”
More like, All the _Wrong_ Reasons, am I right?
Okay, I'll stop.
Here are my thoughts on All The Right Reasons by Nickelback;
1: It has decent guitar and drum work, but the creepy stalker lyrics drag things down.
2: Much like with the last song, it has creepy lyrics, but the instrumentals are really good. I'd definitely listen to this song instrumentally if available.
3: I honestly don't know why this was a meme, okay I can see why, but I just don't think it's a particularly good song. Signs by Creed was better than this. _SEEX_
4: This sounds like something that would be played in a demolition derby.
5: Decent, even if it sounds like the same thing they've been doing for the last two albums...
6: I get the implications, but there is much better alternatives to a song like this by more talented artists.
7: Ouch, isn't this a bit much?
8: It sounds a bit heavier, but nothing too memorable.
9: Something way too sappy and saccharine for me to enjoy.
10: Meh, it's pretty forgettable.
11: Well, at least they have more credibility of being Rockstars than someone like say, I don't know, Hannah Montana.
All The Right Reasons is pretty vanilla and milquetoast, and it has nothing memorable nor interesting to offer me.
I don't hate this album, but it's all filler and no substance.
All filler, no killer 😂😂😂😂😂
"It's like Paul McCartney contributing to a Simple Plan Album". You know what's worse? Paul McCartney contributing to a Kanye West album.
+Geeky Metalhead Now, that just makes it even worse.
Geeky Metalhead I'm scared now
Roger Panoz Me too
Kane is better than Simple Plan. So, not really.
Kanye. *
I don't think rock was totally in the doldrums. You had bands like RED, Breaking Benjamin, Chevelle, and 10 Years. Unfortunately, this is just what got the most recognition.
Four of my favorite rock bands right there! Even The weaker Red album the one with Perfect Life, Same Disease, is way better than this
JustPressPlay Red is alright. They did something’s right, but the preachiness is vomit inducing.
Jay Stewart I’m agnostic and I don’t find their material preachy, but maybe it’s just me.
@@johntitor2761 RED is not preachy but okay 👌🏾
"Driving like I'm black"
What-
I don't get it, either.
I think it's "driving black on black"
It's "driving black on black" - tires on the road.
Actually, the lyrics are "driving black on black" but it's understandable to misread the lyrics.
I remember when people mistook the lyrics "these five words in my head" for "despite words in my head" from How You Remind Me.
I don’t get it how does a black person drive
"I'm singing Amen I, amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I Amen I, I'm alive"
What.
No seriously,
What?!?

On behalf of my fellow Canadians, I apologize for Nickleback.
We're still keeping Neil Young though.
*Snaps Fingers* Damn!....

I've got nothing against Young. But Rush are modern day warriors, with mean mean... well, you know.
Well, he was right. As someone who considers Alice in Chains to be their all-time favorite band, hearing that this pile of shit sold more copies than all of their work combined was definitely painful, to say the least.
right?!? I would think dirt or at least facelift would've sold a shit load more than......nickleshit.....
@@jojohernandezGames Dirt sold about 4 million copies in the U.S. The other records either went gold or platinum.I guess it just boils down to marketing.
Good LORD TO hear that is just heartbreaking, wow
Like, I like some nickleback songs, but hearing that fact in the video was just painful. Alice In Chains deserves more sales than nickleback.
Alice in Chains is a great band, but sorry, Nickelback deserves all the sales they have
Fun fact: A few years ago I dreamed that I was at a System of a Down concert and they were playing "Follow You Home"
OMG!!!! 😂😂😂😂😂
“Sounds like a first month guitar lesson”
I’d hate to hear this guy talk about Deep Purple
STORY TIME
On my way to my job, working at carnival events (I’m only a kid so this isn’t my real future) I got picked up by a coworker I hadn’t met yet early in the morning on for a fireworks show, and we turned on the radio to a rock station, then Photograph came on. We listened for five seconds in complete silence, then the driver turned it off. We both laughed saying we hated Nickelback, than another coworker in the backseat said, and I quote, “Looks like we found something in common, hating Nickelback” so I have to thank Nickelback for sucking so hard that I was able to become good friends with my coworkers :)
I'm back. For my impressions on Nickelback. lol, okay I'll stop.
I've said my opinion on Silver Side Up, and now, I'm here to talk about All The Right Reasons.
So, here are my thoughts:
1: Sounds pretty good, except it's hampered by the creeper lyrics.
2: Again, this sounds like the continuation of the last song. Good instrumentals, but terrible lyrics.
3: This is a really boring song. It's WAY too disjointed and sappy. The lyrics are awful and the instrumentals were yawn-inducing.
4: It's weird. From what I can gather, it's about a group of kids messing around in their dad's car. And that's weird. The instrumentals were okay, though.
5: It sounds pretty good. And that's because it's recycled from their previous work.
6: I get what they were going for, but it's just not good. At all.
7: White Knight Song. That's all what it really is. A Fucking White Knight Song. Seriously, this is just some guy being hostile about other people who even looks at his "girlfriend".
8: It's heavy, but unimpressive. From what I've heard, this was supposed to be a tribute to Dimebag Darrel of Pantera, but it just falls flat in that regard.
9: Way too sappy.
10: Basically a pathetic love song. And I mean _REALLY_ pathetic.
11: Again, much like the last album, it's ironic for a rock band, they sound so "twang-y", which lead the ground work for "bro-country" like Blake Shelton and Florida Georgia Line, which is not a good thing.
In Conclusion, All the Right Reasons somehow manages to be worse than Silver Side Up.
Also, nice cover of "Photograph", it's pretty hilarious. Better than the actual song itself.
Here's my thoughts on All The Right Reasons:
1: Okay, the instrumentals are okay, but the stalker lyrics are _really_ off-putting.
2: Ditto for this track, nice guitar work, but creepy lyrics.
3: An absolute snore.
4: Sounds pretty energetic, but the lyrics are weird and schizophrenic.
5: It's a pretty decent song, but it reminds me _so_ much of their previous work. Wow, no wonder why I never listened to more of their tracks.
6: It has good intentions and I can see why people may like this song. But, I could just find a song like this elsewhere.
7: Wow, _I'm_ not that overly protective towards my girlfriend. Jesus.
8: Pretty heavy stuff, but it's unimpressive and uninteresting.
9: Okay, this is just overly sappy and facepalm-inducing.
10: Pathetic. Just why?
11: And they put this shit in a sofa commercial? Why? Yeah, this song made me cringe.
All the Right Reasons has decent instrumentals (well, some of their tracks, anyway), but terrible songwriting and creepy lyrics.
It's not even mediocre. It's below average, bordering on "bad"
But, I guess there will always be worse.
Hey what about The Long Road?
+Demon Rantz I liked The Long Road, it has plenty of decent tracks; "Flat on the Floor", "Feelin' Too Damn Good", "Someday", and "Because of You" being some of my favorites.
Yeah that album has solid tracks. I guess that's why he didn't bother reviewing it.
Call me whatever you want but I actually like this album. There's some pretty good songs on it I think and it's probably Nickelback's last decent album.
Exactly, those basic chords are amazing.
I think “The Long Road” is their last decent album ( although I hate that song, “Figured You Out.”’).
Yeah right its still bad
@@jesurenbnb >Nickelback hate in 2023
I do like Nickelback, but even I will admit some of their songs can sound a bit creepy and perverted. Not to say that I'm no longer a fan, but sometimes, you gotta pay attention to the lyrics. (Especially on an album like this)
@@archivedaccount5990 That's... not what Mockingbird is about...
Thanks to the Jerk, I will never hear the words to Photograph the way they were meant to be heard ever again. That parody is just too awesome.

Tohofan122 this was the first I ever saw NC before watching his videos THANKS LUKE! 😃
gokusondbz ok
That's twice this year that when a bunch of CA reviewers come together in their individual location for some sort of musical number, Tony's the standout (first time was the NC/AVGN TMNT 2014 review)
HOLY SHIT YOU GOT NOSTALGIA CRITIC IN YOUR VIDEO! That is damn impressive for someone with 10k subs.
Melon Sherbert ikr I was literally screaming "OMFG NOSTALGIA CRITIC!!!" repeatedly at my screen
Well they're both from Channel Awesome, they tend to come to each other's videos. Or was this before joining Channel Awesome...
this aged like milk
You know, if Nickleback had stuck with what they did on Curb or The State, I don't think anyone would have a problem with them. They've always been a post-grunge band, but they sound more genuine on those albums. They're still recognizable as the band they are today, but they were more energetic, less monotonous, and seemed like they just cared more. Those are actually decent ablums, I think.
Exactly!!!!
Unfortunately, almost as a rule, the more mediocre and non-innovative the music, the more mainstream and more money-making the music is and the real artists making the real stuff gets buried under this formulaic, constructed crap. . :( Thank the universe for the Internet now!
I fear no man, but that thing...
“Nickelback’s ‘Photograph’ Song...”
That Scares Me...
My ex gave me a copy of this album. After we broke up, I took it out back, set it on top of the crappy ancient computer that she had ruined by doing everything I'd told her not to do online with it, and pulled an Office Space. A baseball bat wasn't heavy enough, by the way. I used a sledgehammer. If I never hear that album again, it'll be too soon.
Canada may have given us Nickelback, Bieber, Avril Lavigne and Theory of a Deadman but they also gave us Rush, Protest the Hero, The Agonist and Cancer Bats. So it's not all that bad.
Magnus Grant Canada also gave us Arcade Fire and The Tragetically Hip
Avril Lavigne might have been marketed wrong but she is really talented no doubt.
Nickelback isn't bad tho
And Three days Grace
three days grace is awful
Oh my god it's the nostalgia critic
Yesssss
@@panick_9550 noooo
Holy shit you got the nostalgia critic!?!
I've listening Nickelback since 2004 , still my fav band uwu
I liked some of their earlier work.
The Alice In Chains comparison made me cry.
I'd still rather listen to Nickelback than 5 Finger Donkey Punch.
My thoughts on the "tri-force of suckage":
-Limp Bizkit: I can't stand these guys. I will admit I do have a soft spot for Rollin' because the first time I heard it it was stuck in my head for weeks, but other than that, screw them.
-Nickelback: While I can get why people don't like them, I don't get why they get as much hate as they do. I haven't heard every album they've made, I have heard 3 of them; Silver Side Up, All The Right Reasons, and Dark Horse all of which I liked and I can say I have all of them on my MP3 player with no remorse whatsoever. So to recap, I can understand why people don't like them, but not to the extent that they do. I think they're ok though, but not great.
-Creed: I freakin' LOVE Creed. Hands down, no questions, one of my favorite bands of all time. I have their full discography on my MP3 player also. Human Clay is one of my top 10 favorite albums I've ever heard in my life. I proclaim my fandom for these guys with pride, and I straight up don't understand why they get shit on so much.
Red Vince Creed is fucking awesome. I love Limp Bizkit too. Nickleback are bland and generic and they suck
I have Creeds albums on my phone well memory card I think their alright but like everyone else Alter Bridge is better
And I used to like Limp Bizkit And Nickleback but thanks to Luke and Crash from the rock critic I realised there were better bands
I have a soft spot for Creed, and I legitimately love Nickelback. I've never really cared for Limp Bizkit.
Not a big fan of rap rock.
thenoosehangsfromheaven S U P P O S E D L Y
I won't defend Limp Bizkit or Nickelback (okay, they have a few decent songs,) but Creed's first two albums are actually really good except for "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." Weathered is "meh" at best, and I don't care for Full Circle.
Kid Rock singing a Nickelback song... it's like puking on a pile of shit
You got it from Angry Video Game Nerd - The Power Glove.
Hearing Photograph in the context of the actual album it’s from is fucking JARRING. Like the album goes from “I got caught up in favorable slavery” to “Look at this photograph. Every time I do, it makes me laugh”
why is this guy not more well known. his videos are great, and well made.
Well, he's a newcomer to Channel Awesome.
What i hate most about Photograph is how easily it get's stuck in my head
I really hope you make more of these RTP videos. They are super entertaining to watch.
One Nickelback album outselling Alice in Chains' entire discography should tell you all you need to know abt global tastes in music.
This album is half 'just hanging with the bois/ baby I miss u uwu' and half Creeper/Stalker with added smut.
This is literally a Jekyll/Hyde Album
WOAH! You reviewed TWO Nickelback albums within the same year? Are you alright, man?
NNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
15:21 😂😂😂😂
Former stripper here..... Nickelback gets LOTS of airplay in clubs. There is a certain group of dancers who LOVE dancing to "The Next Contestant", "Animals", etc.... and the "Rock Star" song was absolutely massive. So many girls loved dancing to it. *shudder*
I just realized that the 4 non-single tracks all have the Denny’s stalker
When this video came out, All The Right Reasons sold 8 Million in the US. Now its 10 Million. That's right, Nickle back have a Diamond certified album in the US. Let that sink in for a minute. While it didn't sell more, this album shares the same certification as Hybrid Theory, Led Zeppelin 1, Ten, Tragic Kingdom, Van Halen 1, House of The Holy, Sgt. Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band, Never Mind and so many other albums successful and shitty that naming the rest would be way too painful. Let this be a lesson that success doesn't equal quality.
Nickelback*
Since you got Doug Walker in this, can you do a review of his album?
Let me just say, I used to listen to Nickelback when I was younger. I liked 'em a lot. But I was 12. And at the time, I was a huge fan of Linkin Park at the time too. But the thing is, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Linkin Park, but Nickelback is the ONLY band I regret being a fan of.
+Phillip Slater Could you Recommend some metal bands, then?
+James Justus To be fair, Linkin Park actually have some really good songs that hold up to this day. Too bad they started out doing Nu Metal sludge.
***** I might do that. Thanks.
+Phillip Slater I understand you, pal.
When I was young, people I knew (particularly my parents and siblings) were into some _really_ crappy pop and country music (Yeah, I hate that music, myself, *especially* country), and Nickelback, Creed, Three Doors Down, Crossfade, Trapt, Korn, Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, P.O.D., Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, and Seether were pretty much the heaviest I was able to listen to.
And even then, it was pretty hard to come by, since most of that stuff was _barely_ on the radio.
Unfortunately that's one of the only bands most of us were exposed to back then and we didn't get to live the 70s and 80s. We got screwed through our formative years
In Britain they used "Rockstar " to sell furniture......I wish I was kidding.
Don't get me wrong, I hate Nickelback, but creepy lyrics can have their charm. Just look at Misfits or TSOL
I think hate is too strong of a word but I think they're decent.
This was the first Nickelback album I ever heard. Never thought much about until my Mom bought it. The only song I could stand was Savin' Me. Then I heard the rest of their stuff. Hard to get into a ''rock'' album when your parents are into it. I think remember drowning out this album with Iowa, Untouchables, and The War Within.
I like some of Nickelback's music....but I can still make fun of them.
+OneWingedDash OWD
I do, too.
Nickelback is the musical equivalent of a migraine.
Etana Edelman I thought Metallica’s “St. Anger” was literally the musical equivalent of a migraine!!!
no, that’s cardi b.
It will cause a migraine
I was in a car with my aunt once on our way to the beach, and she played Animals by Nickelback during the drive.
We don't talk much nowadays.
I wanted to cry when I saw Chuck Liddell in a nickelback video...
I had no idea you would return to the Suckage Squad, but this was a fantastic review. I actually lost a bet with a friend, and I had to listen to this album for a day. All The Right Reasons is a big bone to pick if any. I can understand the stalkish theme throughout the album. It goes from following someone wherever they go, to getting dirty (Animals), to flat out “Ima murder your ass if you even dare to catch a glimpse at my girl!” mode (Next Contestant).
What REALLY grinds my gears is not the album as a whole marketing-standpoint (even though it outdid itself after Silver Side Up). It has to do with, in my opinion, the album’s biggest flaw: “If Everyone Cared”.
I know what you’re thinking, we got happy, lovey songs like “Photograph” and “Far Away”, and even a song about fighting suicide (Saving Me), which I’m all for if it wasn’t ”Someday Part 2”. But think of all the stalker/serial killer narration displayed throughout the album. What is missing? A song about caring! I’m sure the “next contestant” you just socked is totally cool and forgiving! And the girl next door that you're asking out in "Someone You're With", just tell her your observations were valid because you cared. That will start a first date!
I was pissed! I’ve heard this on the radio many times before, but it wasn’t until heard the entire album that “If Everyone Cared” is a giant walking contraction. Not only does it fail in conveying a peaceful message with the lack of lyric material, it's not enough to make up for 60% of the album spent on stalking, jealousy, threatening, and narcissism. Now that I’ve listened to the whole shitstorm against my will, I’m man enough to make the judgment call that “If Everyone Cared” is unforgivable. Listening to songs with risque and concerning lyrics only to have the ultimate payoff be a PSA from the CareBear Society?!? That’s just one of the many reoccurring themes you’re sure to hear over and over again on future albums. Just be prepared to glance at it for a few seconds. It just sucks!
Wow, that's a lot. My bad.
Kevin O'Brien "I actually lost a bet with a friend, and I had to listen to this album for a day."
You need new friends. A real friend wouldn't make a friend listen to Nickelback, not even if they lost a bet.
***** Yeah, you got a point. Turns out he was a scumbag in the end, but I'm over it. And I know who my real friends are.
It's been 8 months and I feel I stick by what I said. Luke said it best: "All The Right Reasons: Was that what they were saying when they were writing this garbage? That it was 'all right' to them and this is what they wanted to stand behind?"
When half of your album is part perverted, part "angsty", part hostile, and the other half is sugarcoated with mellow rock ballads to market the album with, then it's damaging to the album's flow, and is the only reason the mainstream crowd will buy the individual tracks on iTunes...or buy the album and skip the Denny Stalker tracks pretending like they weren't there.
+KingCheshireZorua I listen to them loads actually but yeah I don't like the stalkerish songs
OMG THAT LAST FUCKING GUY THO!!!!!!!! LMFAO
+Doug Murray can someone please give me a link to that full video
+Doug Murray I don't have a video link, but I think I have a photo of a photograph
I wish that we had an album of Some Jerk with a Camera singing Nickleback.
Look at this SEEXXXXXX
I'm surprised no one mentioned Side of a Bullet is a tribute to Dimebag Darrell
HOW IS THAT A TRIBUTE?!?!
Kevin Luper Well the lyrics are supposedly written from the perspective of an angry Pantera fan who seeks revenge on the guy who shot Dime. And the guitar solo is actually a recording of Dime shredding. Yup. Vinnie Paul gave Nickelback autorization to use a Dimebag guitar solo.
Wow.
Kevin Luper Yeah look it up on google, Dime and Nickelback used to be friends before he died
Oh damn
I can't help it; I have a soft spot for Savin' Me. Always have. Even though the melody is so similar to their other songs, something about it always did more for me than they did.
Sorry, but this is one of the best hard rock albums of the last decade. I still play it regularly.
But on a lighter note. Are there any Weezer albums worth regretting?
Ratitude?
A lot
Yea they had a couple of lows.
*cough...make believe....cough*
Make Believe, Ratitude and Pacific Daydream
There was that one time my mom had a brain fart and, intending to purchase a Nickel Creek album, bought a Nickelback album instead. I can't remember which album it was -- the CD never made it out of the shrink wrap -- but I don't think she ever returned it, so... Yup, that counts as an album sale.
I miss the “regretting the past” segments
It's a photo of a photograph!!! 😂😂🤣🤣🤣 I'm crying!! Lol
My friend always calls Nickleback a Canadian country band trying to be metal.
Honestly, a country version of Photograph could work.
Kid Rock singing a Nickelback song isn’t surprising. They’re similar in material plus together do a cover of Saturday Night’s Alright
This one is a guilty pleasure for me.
For those who want to see Nash's cameo, it is at 19:33
Thanks. I think I have an idea for a RDA request
For those who want to see Some Jerk with a Camera's cameo, it's at 20:30
19:22 until 21:24. Best part is when Tony Goldmark aka Some Jerk with a Camera comes up and it crackes me up and makes me laugh so hard.
Oh the legendary single, middle aged mom, getting drunk at the bar band. It breaks my heart to see a shitty band like this sell more albums then my favorite band Alice In Chain’s whole discography. I love you Layne, you will get your revenge.
I discovered your series on Radio Dead Air. I am enjoying this series. I do wince at hearing these songs again.
+Tara Edwards I'm glad you found it. :) Now I owe Nash my life.
...dang it.
+Rocked Reviews Also here because of Nash. And after watch the rest of Regretting The Past, I really, really wanted to see you review Photograph. And you delivered! :)
And it was great seeing your cameo with Dena on Mortal Kombat.
+Rocked Reviews 14:34 Would you think me weird if I said that I kind of liked this song? I wouldn't want to listen to it a bunch, but if it's on the radio, I'll listen to it. Its alright.
+Rocked Reviews Also, thank Channel Awesome for me finding you. You take requests? Such as The Me gas?
Ah, Nickelback.
While I personally may not be the biggest fan of this band, I will admit that they did make a few pretty "okay" songs.
Here are my thoughts on All The Right Reasons;
1: It has nice instrumentals, but the lyrics are _extremely_ creepy.
2: While I like the instrumentals of this track, even if they feel a bit repetitive. But once again, the creepy stalker lyrics drag everything down.
3: I didn't like this song, either. It's _way_ too sappy, even for my tastes. It's also pretty boring and poorly written.
4: It has decent guitar work, but the lyrics are weird and nonsensical.
5: It's more tolerable than "Photograph", that's for sure.
6: It's okay... But I could've found much better alternatives.
7: Dear God, this song was awful. Jesus, what's up with these lyrics? I mean, Kirito isn't this much of a White Knight. Seriously.
8: I'm sure this was meant to be a tribute to Dimebag Darrell, but considering how the last few songs turned out, I think the message was lost...
9: Wow, this was really sappy and dull.
10: Yeah, this is just creepy as hell.
11: I really hate this song. It's almost as bad as "Photograph"
Overall, I think All The Right Reasons is a below average album that I doubt I'll ever return to.
I will admit that I'm a bit indifferent towards Nickelback (don't like 'em, don't hate 'em), but I know they've done *better* than this.
Outside of a few standouts, none of the tracks are what I would consider "good"
Not downright terrible, but just uninspiring... It's just sort of "there"
+Asuna Yuuki Very impressive analysis.
You know for a fact that the Commander cranks up this album to get pumped before a raid. Also, track 1 is definitely about Kuradeel
Asuna Yuuki
They’ve done better than this. I like their first two albums: “Curb” and “The State.” I also kinda like their latest album, “Feed The Machine.”
What happened to the audio half way through this review?
1:56 Luckily this isn’t true anymore as of today Alice In Chains has sold 14 million and a half certified records and this album only is certified 10 million(ugh). Glad times have changed
