i've seen people point out the coronary artery not carotid arteries in the comments already, but the lub dub is actually the sound of the health valves closing! the lub is when the atrioventricular valves (tricuspid and bicuspid/mitral) close, and the dub is when the semilunar valves (aortic and pulmonary) close!
Thank you for producing quality videos I can use in my middle school life science class. Your explanations are clear with simple visuals that do not distract the students from the message, the videos are well-paced, and just the right length to incorporate into classes. You make me a better teacher!
The heart revealed guys! I never thought It was that much easier! Thank you Mr.Andersen for all of your works .. you have students all around the world and you make our day..
Finding your videos makes me beam with joy. Anytime I am overwhelmed and confused, it brings comfort to me to find your explanations show up from my RUclips searches.
i have been struggling to understand the heart through my igcse syllabus and never understood it and thankfully it did not come but i was obliged to understand it now in my a level course and today because of this video , i for the first time in my life understand it i dont know how to thank you but you are so magical and definitely my favourite teacher on youtube , may god bless you!
I have a science exam coming up (I'm 14 and in a high class at school) and I find science difficult. Your videos are extremely helpful, I take notes while watching them numerous times. Thank youu :)
I love this. My almost-3-year-old was asking a lot of questions about the difference between a heart shape and the hearts in our bodies, so I finally decided to look up a video to show him. This is what I found, and between the video, a comparison to squeezing air out of his rubber ducky and then sucking water into it (obviously, he's not even three yet so I'm not worried about explaining the valves and chambers and all), and a short excursion to Photoshop to sketch some stuff out for him--after all that, he seems to at least understand that the heart in our bodies isn't the same as a heart shape, and that the heart in our bodies pumps blood through our bodies to keep us moving. And he was enthralled by the video! :)
I've honestly learn more watching a few of these videos than when attending lessons. It's so helpful seeing all the pictures and it's so straight forward.
I love how you go back over your videos and fix errors. I can depend on getting good information. I also love how you have a lot of information written for those who want to read up to refresh, (purkinji fibers, oh yeah!) without putting to much in verbally. You rock, thank you!
Your hope is granted, Mr. Anderson. That was helpful as hell. I started watching these videos four years ago in high school and they still serve as wonderful review for my university courses. Way to do something good.
Thank you for your videos, I'm studying for my certification as a Spanish-English medical interpreter and these videos really help those of us who's main forté is in the humanities. Thanks again!
All I can think of after watching some of your videos, "My College and some in my Masters degree professors sucks!" It's like all my time spent in school come into waste. Wished I hadn't gone to school and watched your videos/lectures instead. LOL. Seriously, you are amazing! You make things simpler and easy to understand. Yeah, I would like to echo everyone: I wished you were my teacher! :-)
I'm taking an online class right now, and I can't tell you how helpful these videos are for me! My course is only text-based, so I don't ever get things explained to me like this. Your videos are saving my bacon, I'll tell you that right now.
I am a mom returning to college now that my kids are in college, my goal is to get my BSN, I find your videos are very easy to learn from & I thank you!!! = )
You've helped me so much in preparing for the SAT II for Biology. My AP teacher has barely covered organ systems at all, and my SATs are tomorrow, but your videos really help give me a broad understanding of all the systems. Thank you!
This took my teacher over a week to teach the circulatory resperation and digestive system. I understand why it did for her to take that long but I am going to show this to her and highly recommend that she uses this for reviews.
THANK YOU SO much! Best circulatory system explanation ever!! I been looking for years after reading and researching and never understood.God BLESS YOU MAN!!
Currently doing a fitness instructor course which includes the cardiovascular system and circulatory system and this video was a great way to go over what I've covered. Thanks!
Thank you so much for doing this! May god bless your soul for helping out an AP Bio student who was getting pretty close to the end of her sad, frayed little rope (and her unit test).
Bozeman Science Great LUB DUB beat box!!!! LOL... On a Serious note. You just wrapped up a 4 hour A&PII lecture in 11:35.... THANK YOU!!!!! GREAT VID!!!!
Reading ahead since am now in holiday so that I can't be lost at school. You've really helped a lot by explaining a whole sub-topic of Transport in a textbook (A Functional Approach) in just 11 minutes. Thanks
Great video :) I wish you could make an even longer more in depth video that also covers the structural layers and topics such as Starling's Law of the Capillary. You always present topics so clearly that I love watching your videos to supplement my course lectures :)
My biology teacher was the one who made my class know about this man, and I thank him so much because yay! test on monday and this guy makes it very easy for me to understand :)
Thank you for your videos. your videos help to explain things in a way I understand or if I want more information on certain things. plus your voice is amazing so its so much easier to listen to you. Thanks from New Zealand
our heart does tend to beat our whole life. it's not until the last few seconds that it doesn't beat. because generally if our heart isn't beating we aren't really "alive" there was a lot of humor in this vid. i like it. it's nice to see that your classroom and your videos are not very separated in your teaching style.
Love your video. I am trying to study anatomy and physiology myself for nursing degree. The video was vivid. But it is not the carotid artery that around the heart, it is coronary artery. U may want to correct it.
Thank you! You have actually prepared me for our class tomorrow. Even though, I'm an Accounting student, I get to learn a lot from your videos. I just love the facts and trivias you are sharing with us. 2 thumbs up!! :)
We are so dumb in front of you Mr Anderson. You make us understand such difficult concepts with such ease. As a matter of fact i would hate to call that difficult now :p. Also i realized our heart is so faithful, works constantly throughout our lives and our mind always makes excuses, so that we don't work. Wish i could be as consistent as my heart. May be one day. Thanks a ton.
What took me an hour to learn, you explained it so well in 3 minutes! Thank you!
actually da video is 11 minutes
dhilan nagaraju probs means a specific topic

Thank you for your love in science! Your effort and time in simplifying it with audio and visual cues is helping me way more than my text!
@francesderook Nice catch. I have added an annotation in the video. Hopefully I wasn't having a heart attack when I made that mistake. :)
This took my teacher over a week to teach the circulatory resperation and digestive system. I understand why it did for her to take that long but I am going to show this to her and highly recommend that she uses this for reviews.
