I'm cracking up thinking about how someone from the show must have had to explain to Roger what his proposed role would be when asking him to be in the episode but only in a flashback done in the style of an old video as the spitter in the bushes in a scene parallel to...

In the original script they wrote it as Daryl Strawberry.
But Strawberry was going through some troubles at the time and Hernandez knew him and thought him spitting on fans wouldn’t be very good for him. 😄

Then weeks later I thought of Newman, walking past Brock Purdy after Purdy-Boy lost the SF Superbowl game vs the evil Kansas City/Missouri Chefs!! Newman (walking with Kramer) mouths off "Nice game, Purdy boy!!".

Some of the younger posters refer to the "old video" used in the flashbacks. They are actually imitating old 8mm FILM, which is the format of the Zapruder film. They periodically cut to a guy shooting with an 8mm camera in the clips, suggesting his camera is the Zapruder equivalent, e.g. the important angle that photographed the actual "hit."

There's an episode wich Kramer complaint to Elaine about a guy he just met was asking him to help moving to a new place, because he barely knew the guy. You know of course that Wayne Knight plays a character named "Numa" in JFK. But there's another Newman connection. The man seen grabbing his son a short distance from the scene of the crime is based on a family who were feet away from JFK's limo when the fatal bullet hit, and reacted the same way. Their name: Newman.

    Something doesn't add up.
On June 14, 1987 the Mets were playing the Pirates in Pittsburgh. Keith Hernandez hit a double and a homer in a commanding 7-3 Mets victory.
The Mets did lose to the Phillies at Shea exactly one time in 1987, and it was on September 7. Keith Hernandez did in fact commit an error in the top of the 5th. Keith Hughes hit a grounder to Hernandez with one on and no outs and Hernandez bobbled it. But then Steve Jeltz hit into a 6-4-3 double play, putting Wilson on 3rd with two outs. Dwight Gooden then struck out Don Carman for the third out and the Mets escaped the inning without allowing a run. The Phillies were up 1-0 at that point.
The Mets would tie the game in the bottom of the inning, and Dwight Gooden hit a sac fly in the 6th to put the Mets up 2-1. But the Phillies had a 3-run 7th inning and the Mets never regained the lead. Keith walked in the 7th and again in the 9th, but the Mets weren't able to recover and lost 3-5. His error had basically no effect on the outcome of the game. In fact, his WPA of .250 was the highest of any Met that day...his contribution equaling basically a half of a win (each team starts at a 50% chance of winning so 25% is halfway to a win) He did commit an error but nobody on the Mets was even close to his win contribution that day. The closest was Wally Backman with a .090 WPA which came from his clutch pinch-hit single leading off the 9th. Keith Hernandez was on deck and walked, but Darryl Strawberry, Kevin McReynolds, and Gary Carter were all retired after that sealing the Phillies' victory,
