Tony shalboub is a great actor, his impression of monk is perfect. The nervous tics and the compulsions about cleaning and organizing stuff were subtle but great touches.

The more that i watched Monk, the more he is a "modern day" Columbo. They can be irritating, annoying, but they are brilliant in putting everything together and solving the crimes. At some point, they always figure it out. The only difference is Columbo is older and wears a raincoat.

If Monk was afraid of ladders, why is using a stool in the opening credits. Ladders and stools are basically the same thing. When it ended, I invisoned, his wife is alive and all of these episodes are books he has written.

This song had a different tune and everything, and sounded like an old-school buddy cop show's intro, complete with backup singers singing "Monk!" at key points. I guess it was only in my head, but I distinctly remember seeing it several times, and don't remember this song at all. Maybe I'm just from a parallel universe...

I'm still puzzled by the sudden departure of Sharona from the series when it's out of her character, she wouldn't have left him like that.
The reason she left was because the actor had an argument about her contract and quit so it had nothing to do with Sharona
