We rode 520 miles in 6 days.
The trail seemed to never end and the scenery got better around every corner and over every mountain!!
The 26 he rode trip to get there is absolutely Worth it!!! Will be back in 2-3 yrs for sure!!!!!
We so get it. The first time we went, we told our wives "It's a once in a lifetime trip". Well, that turned into a every other year "once in a lifetime trip".

No time like the present. Hey, I saw you posted some videos about Walker Valley. I think you and I are located very close to each other. I ride Walker every December. Love that place!
@@ATVOverland I love Walker Valley too! It is the closest ORV park for me (20 mins). I just started riding last September and I usually ride by myself (still looking for ATV clubs/groups to join). It'll be nice to ride with others. Let me know if I can join one of your rides. Thanks!

This trip was early September. The weather can be hit and miss (hot or cold) this time of year.
Weird question but what kind of mileage and range do you get out of your atv? my 2020 grizzly only has like 130km of range
Fully loaded, meaning with all camping gear fuel and water, I averaged between 95 and 100 miles which is just over 150 kilometers. This is pretty consistent between both the king quad 500 and 750.

The forest service motor vehicle use maps are your best friend for planning the trips. If you're staying on the Paiute system, the Nat Geo map is really helpful. Have a great ride!
Awesome! So who was the mastermind behind all these trails and who maintains them? Government or atv clubs? Do you pay an annual trail pass fee or how does it work?
And are they a mix of Jeep/atv trails or strictly arv/sxs trails.
So cool being able to go from point A to point B.
It's a mix of Forest service roads, and then true trails. The trails are possible because of the cooperation between both government and local clubs. Agreed about being able to create large rides without having to trailer.
@@claycope right on I will tell local gov here about this. I’m in Canada and we have all kinds of trails but not ones that connect unless they are snowmobile trails.

I'm surprised that you didn't take the Bosski trailer on this trip.
On these trips to this area so far, we've had ambitious plans to covers 120+ miles per day. With someone hauling a trailer, it would definitely slow us down on the steep hill climbs and descents. These trips have been about going going going, so far, and exploring new trails. And not knowing the trails before we go, we are hesitant to get into some situations that would be uncomfortable.
Additionally, my Kingquad is a 500. some of these hill climbs (Barney Lake for example) would be a LOT of work for my 500, and there are spots where I'm confident would turn into a "winch 20 feet, then reset" event. We do have plans to use it on some shorter trips this coming summer. But for these trips to Utah so far, it's been all about light weight, and covering ground. The trailers are also great if you were going out to setup a base camp somewhere, then ride.

Is it possible to ride from 4-5k feet to 9k feet with a carburetor machine without it running bad? Do you ever have to dip into your reserve fuel tanks that you carry with you
You can do it if you adjust your carbs accordingly. They sale jet kits to rejet it for different elevations levels. And yes, we definitely dip into our fuel. On this trip, we have a stretch of roughly 160 miles between fuel stops. Thanks for watching and enjoy the series!
I have ridden at elevations above 10k with carbureted machines with no problem, stock jetting. I did it with a Kawasaki brute force 750 and a Suzuki 500 Vinson. hope this helps.

@Steve Anderson Great questions and these answer are really the limiting factor on the route. Fully loaded down our kingquad's average between 95 and 100 miles range on a full tank of gas. Without a load, it's around 120 ish miles. We plan our routes with us carrying 4 gallons of fuel (spec sheet say we have a 4.6 gallon tank). So to play it safe, when building the route, we try to keep fuel stops around 160 miles apart to be safe. Thanks!

Planning to return to Utah fall of 2021. This month was suppose to be Moab, but we are all dealing with the Covid situation. Can't wait to get back to Utah. Hopefully Idaho this summer.
