I'm a transplant South African (lived here for 14 years, born in Ireland but raised in NY) and it's been hilarious watching South African twitter, of all complexion, completely shut down the race angle as far as DDP being the first true African champ. Everyone is behind him, I'd almost say especially so of the black users because when you translate their tweets from Xhosa/Zulu or whatever into English, they're the ones bringing the serious heat at Izzy basically daring him to show up in SA and see what happens if he tries running his mouth about Dricus while he's here. I don’t think there was any conspiracies for why the UFC scheduled DDP and Rob. Either of those guys would have been a massive PPV draw in Australia vs Izzy. That part just boils down to economics in my opinion.
