Yup, $210 as far as the rumor goes. Hoping it stays there upon release, it's actually obtainable for me unlike the Lion Knights Castle (plus from what I hear it will be modular, so as an individual with very little space to work with, I'm happy to know I can probably store this one.)

when i was a kid i used the avatar red vladek helmet front with the red scorpion vladek one as a separate character to my black armor vladek figure. Honestly full black armor looks dope , had that one and two standard ones ie really worked well for like an evil blood knight

If they do return to castle sets I think they should expand their scope and vision a bit. Traditional castle lines have had such a focus on knightly factions, completely neglecting so many other aspects of medieval theme, and especially medieval fantasy. Not saying we should not have any factions, but definitely don't need everyone to wear an animal football shirt. By expanding the scope of castles to medieval fantasy, we can create an ever green line of sets on par with Lego city that covers all aspects on fantasy set in the past or with magic similar to Dungeons and Dragon, including Lego Pirates (with small modifications). No need for a story line or recurring characters, that would just bog down the sets with repeating minifigures as well as giving the line a set lifespan unlike Lego City. Instead our Fantasy sets will include a variety of classic medieval fantasy trope archetypes like wizards, paladins, clerics, rangers, rogues, witches, alchemists, etc... either in their living environment like houses, towers, cottages, waggons, etc or up against different medieval fantasy monsters. Ofcourse there would be dragons, but there are no many opportunities for other creatures to encounter like Giants, Centaurs, Goblins, Oozes, Elementals, Undead, etc. Always having a battle pack on shelf for a knightly faction however would be great. Not only would it act as a base for army building for those who enjoy that aspect or lego Castle, but also potential guardsmen for a medieval city, parts for customizing your own heroic figures, or enemies for those same figures to fight. The faction is said set should correspond with whatever big castle set is on shelf, as there should always be a castle available.
I would love for this to be a thing. Sure, the Falcons would be great, but the main selling point for me would be the return of pearl-dark grey helmets. All of mine are currently on my Green Dragon Knights, and buying more of them is a tad bit expensive.
Great idea! You should have included 1 or 2 helmets in the weapons rack, so you can turn the wizard into a soldier. If you buy multiple packs, you don’t want multiple wizards. But the weapon rack on its own is a great idea!
Love the wizard dude! Never thought of adding a custom wizard to Black Falcons, and this one is very inspiring. I'm thinking of having a staff topped with one of the old gray stone falcons

LEGO should just hire you to make a line of castle sets, pretty awesome battle pack idea. I agree, and I am also tired of all these expensive castle sets, while cool and incredible its dah gone hard on the budget. We've all been waiting so patiently for a new castle line
I think you could pretty easily swap the spear for a shooter in the ballista. I'd even suggest including both options in the box, so those who like the shooters can use that while those who prefer the look of the spear piece can sub in. Including both sets of heads is a great idea. I prefer yellow, but lots of folks are big fans of the flesh tones. That said, it seems to me that Lego is pretty universally using yellow for their in-house themes. The one thing I'd change is swapping one figure for an archer. Use the PDG nasal helmet but give him a PDG crossbow and a quiver. An extra shield and spear could go on the weapon rack. Or, bump it to five minifigures. A full wave would be very interesting. You could leave aside the high-ticket castles, since there are both a very expensive one and a 100 USD option already available. Maybe go with a 50 USD tower, a very small knight-on-barded-horse option with a side build, a couple civilian builds (farmhouse, toll bridge, walled village?), and for something that I don't thing has ever been done by Lego, a nobleman's villa or manse.
Oh you are totally right! Having a swappable play feature vs display piece for the ballista would be smart. I considered adding the rimmed kettle helm & a quiver piece but ended up not doing it. Probably would have been better so you could more easily swap the wizard into an archer. I think i'm gonna take your idea and not make any 100+ sets if i make a wave of sets. There's so many great builds that can be done in the sub $100 price range so i've got a lot of options.
I really love your idea of adding the option for flesh coloured heads, I wish all face prints were printed on all colours of minifigure heads, the only thing stoping me from switching to flesh coloured heads is that the majority of good face prints are on yellow heads. I still try to mix them in though when I can kind of like how Lego movie does it with batman and DC characters mixed with everyone else
Nice idea. I disagree with the sentiment about pick a brick I think it's actually a great way to build an army or pick up some great parts. I know it's still a little bit of a wait on PAB but that's really not that big of a deal. We are getting a village set next year for castle that should be interesting if it's anything like the leaked photos from earlier this year.
I wish Lego release more mediaeval sets so everyone can get them and make some good adventures.
