- If You're Galaxy S9 has a dead spot on the screen you may want to get in touch with Samsung immediately. You can run a screen sensitivity test on your Galaxy S9 by going in to your phone's Dialer and entering *#0*#0. Your S9 will then go in to test mode and you can select the screen option. You are then presented with a task of following a track around the border of the screen as well as an ax through the middle of the screen to determine if sensitivity is present in the screen. You will also notice that as your finger runs through the test, it will produce a black line. In order to determine dead spots on your Galaxy S9 screen, you must look out for Breaks in the line produced by your finger. If the line is continuous then it seems That you probably do not have an issue with dead spots on You're S9 screen.
My Galaxy S9 has also started having Phantom touches, that Is, my phone seems to be Engageing the screen without me touching it.
As you can imagine, I am very disappointed To find this hardware problem on the flagship phone of my favorite mobile company. If they should happen to you, there are 2 things you can do. Or you can call Samsung at 1 800 Samsung. They will most likely refer you to a local Samsung store or 3rd party provider who is authorized to evaluate your phone and determine if there is a dead spot on the screen. Apparently, they are also authorized to perform service on your phone to repair the dead spots on your screen. I have to say, that the experience on the phone was very impersonal and the associate who was speaking with me was impatient, and a bit rude when I questioned him about being sent to a 3rd party instead of a more reputable Samsung store. This associate also convinced me to hang up instead of forwarding me to the survey portion of my call as he knew that he had given me very poor service.
The 2nd thing you can do, especially if you recently received your phone, is to contact the mobile provider who you ordered the phone from. In my case, it was t-mobile. I contact at the actual store and while I'm on the phone with the Same associate who sold me the phone in the 1st place. She was very pleasant and Encouraged me to come in to the store to have my phone Evaluated and told me that if there was a problem with a dead spot on my screen that she would replace my Galaxy S9.
I will continue to keep you guys updated on the status of my Galaxy S9 and the dead spots as well as other hardware and software issues that I'm experiencing.

This is awesome and I had no idea that this feature existed. I was led here because I was playing a game on my phone and there was what I thought was a dead spot but when I did the test you showed, there was no dead spot. Now I'm restarting. Hopefully the problem will be resolved
Thanks!
Thanks for the video. I discovered mine while watching a youtube video. The onscreen message (while on landscape mode) would not go away even when you tried to slide the arrow up. I had the same test run shown in your video and it is the exact same issue. SG S9
If you cannot complete the test use the volume up button. It will bring you back to the test screen without reset.
Very cool tip thank you
@@planetgalaxys9680 how do you fix black spots on galaxy s9 please

@@planetgalaxys9680 i brought it to a couple different places they all said its because my screen is cracked its messing with the censors but its $300+ to get thr screen replaced
@@raphaelsamera6794 so your phone has dead zones because of the cracked screen? Because that happened to mine but I didn't know that's what caused it
I have generally same issue in the center of screen.
I hope that you were able to solve the problem quickly through exchange or repair
I had the same problem with my Note 9, but I solved it by performing a soft reset on the phone.
It worked fine after that.
Soft reset - press and hold volume down and the power button for a few seconds, the phone is going to reboot itself. Nothing is going to be erased.
Hope it helps someone. :)
I hope so too
Only once ? Or had to do it every time the screen didn't respond ?
