- During the process known as the Spanish Reconquista, Córdoba was captured by King Ferdinand III of Castile on 29 June 1236, after a siege of several months. The city was divided into 14 colaciones, and numerous new church buildings were added.The centre of the mosque was converted into a large Catholic cathedral.

I am happy that Spain did not destroy these magnificent structures. They respected the culture and beauty of the Muslim people. I truly appreciate all the architecture and art. I love how they blended many cultures.
This is a very charming city, I hope I can visit again sometime in the future when all this is over. Seeing and sharing places like this is why I love traveling and make videos so much! And please keep up the great job!

I think the spanish government should allow these beautiful buildings to be reverted back into mosques, there's a large population of moroccans and algerians living in andalusia, it would be fantastic if they could pray in the buildings their ancestors built

@@ignaciobh7370 and I'm not sure if you're aware, many churches sadly get closed down across Europe. Christians aren't religious anymore, very few attend churches nowadays. Whereas there's always a shortage of mosques. I'm sure the majority of visitors to the mosque of Cordoba are tourists and not practicing Christians anyhow. If it was to revert to a mosque it would see hundreds of Muslims pray in congregation each day.

Agreed like how the Greeks contributed to the Muslim culture like Domed mosques was influence by Hagia Sophia and other churches in conquered lands by the Muslims.
