- The multi award winning director Ken Loach has returned to the north east of England for a third time to shoot his latest and possibly his last feature film. Unlike I, Daniel Blake and Sorry We Missed You which were set on Tyneside, The Old Oak has been shot entirely in County Durham. It stars a retired fireman in the lead role and real life Syrian refugees who've resettled in Durham. Sharuna Sagar was given exclusive access to the legendary film maker and his cast and crew.
Please Ken stay well and healthy. We, in the UK need people like you so very desperately. I fear,
though, we are spitting in the wind as we are the few fighting against injustice
Ken Loach is a World treasure ! Wonderful person and director.
😂
As l can’t get out easily l have ordered the DVD and will watch it on Christmas Day if it arrives in time!
Ken Loach is indeed a wonderful man with great integrity and morals who delves deep into social injustices which need to be told.
Every film he directs is great for he enlightens us all into the injustices and hardships so many in our society are challenged with through their lives.
Ken Loach is without any doubt whatsoever one of the best ever film directors.
However more importantly he is a decent caring man, who always through his films stands by the poor and vulnerable in our society.
Wishing Ken. Loach and everyone involved in the film Great success with the film, as its well deserved.
I'm looking forward very much to watching what will be a very good film.
Saw this last month and its brilliant, excellent cast and screenplay ❤
I discovered Ken about 5 years ago. First Kes, then Daniel Blake, and since then he has become my favourite director ever!

Really liked this film. It was a true ''Feel good film. Nice to see the English really know how to make 'feel good films'' A lot of films especially German Films have no satisfying endings!
*Ken Loach is a man I'd love to meet.*
I know this area well. Worked in Easington, went to school in Horden and live in the next town over. Great to see this story being told through these villagers.
What a beautiful human being. Ken Loach.
The great Ken loach I just love his films. I am from India.

Thanks so much for posting.
Great job Cheri. Congratulations.
It will be interesting to see, especially as I live down the street from I Daniel Blake and have had asylum seekers living next door for years so know from experience!
Solidarity Sibling !
Congratulations Cheri. Well done.
great man ken
Well done Sharuna
I think Ken needs you now.
Would the American film industry award Ken Loach...😢
❤❤❤
what we learn from this ...Ken has never truly been "rewarded " by society for his work. We have pathetic types all been knighted and given OBE/MBE's etc . Yet Ken has never been made a "sir" etc etc And he should be .
I don't think he'd accept any of the above.
The photos on the walls...Have a real "Colin Jones" look about them
Hh see me at the film
Great man, naive concept.
Why do you believe that it's a naive concept?
as painful to watch as "kes"
