You couldn't pay me enough to be an EMT /Paramedic. Huge props to all who do it! There was an accident near my house last summer. A pregnant lady got rear ended by a truck (driver of truck was on his phone looking @ Facebook). Her car got pushed into an on-coming car and her car got hit again. The mom, her unborn baby and her toddler in the backseat all died. The first responders were crying on scene. The extra sad part is that the husband/dad of the victims is a fireman in another town, but the responders at the accident knew the guy and they knew it was his wife & kid. All that heartbreak could have been avoided if the truck driver wouldn't have been screwing with his phone. Needless to say, the dude is going to be doing some major jail time.
Stories like this one is why me and my buddies think that while your in a vehicle and its going down the road, your phone should automatically disable itself, except maybe be able to call 911 during an emergency. That way maybe we'd have less stories like this one. Also, ever notice how it's usually the one that causes that accident by doing stupid crap are usually the ones that walk away, while the ones they hit end up dead? At least it seems like that's how it usually goes. Anyways, sorry for the rant, it's just stories like this piss me off. Hopefully that truck driver ends up in prison.
Used to think being an EMT would be cool, until a friend told me her experience. She responded to an accident, where an old man in his 80's had a heart attack, and driven across the highway into oncoming traffic. While helping his wife, she had to try to hide the fact that her husband had been decapitated. Definitely not for me.
Abortion should be used in cases were the fetus is going to die. I had a miscarriage at 7 months in. I miscarried in the bathroom. I was at home alone. We lived 40 minutes from the nearest hospital. My son never took a breath. I was inconsolable. I held my son after wrapping him in towels. I was in shock. I knew he was gone. I couldn't save him. I did lose my mind for awhile. That was traumatic. More than traumatic. I still think of him that was 18 years ago. The story of the mom texting and driving is just sad. Could have been avoided. Someone I know was in a car with his pregnant wife. Their 3 children. Man drunk head on collision killing the mother and her baby. I have much respect for the paramedics. So many traumatic situations they respond to. The paramedics who helped me were very kind. They showed me compassion and my son.
@user-ut6nu8ey4j no one even mentioned abortion and the idea of using abortion as birth control is nothing short of absurd. while I've never experienced it myself I know that it is excruciating and traumatic. no one is casually chasing abortion. please educate yourself from somewhere other than foxnews.

Was looking for this comment. The kid was definitely a little weird and slimy, but I genuinely couldn't believe those reactions. I understand talking to the manager that came out on their own the first time after the hanging comment, but insisting he be fired the second time, fearing for their life after very casually running into him at another store, and going to the police to try to get a restraining order for him... literally working there is so bizarre.
"Yet there's a nagging little voice in the back of my mind that something tells me I haven't seen the last of him... " He wants absolutely nothing to do with you ma'am, just don't go back to that particular store that you already don't like.

I believe that I have listened to almost all of your stories, I normally don't leave any comments but I just had to say something about the KAREN in the shopping store story, that woman needs to take a chill pill cause that boy is harmless and it just amazes me on how these types of KAREN'S can make themselves out to be victims when nothing really happened.
It's amazing how fragile and yet how incredibly resilient we really are. I'm a horror lover and have often thought about being an EMT because I'm so unflappable in emergencies.
Last town I lived in had two ambulance crews, who had to service that next two towns both half an hour away in opposing directions. Lady got in an accident and had to wait on a stretcher in a neck brace for forty minutes with the firefighters until an ambulance could arrive.
It is absolutely unacceptable to have a nasty attitude with an employee! Your imperious bullshit ends when you walk out of your home. I hope that customer gets what she deserves in life and I'm glad the young lady wasn't seriously hurt.
49:58 are you kidding? I'd have stayed in contact with the guy who single-handedly cleaned my intestines off before putting them back into my body and ultimately saved my life, wouldn't2 you?
The chilling part of that first Cop story is the uncomfortable thought that this is probably common among police. It's not hard to imagine given the last few years it's pretty obvious there ain't a lot of protecting and serving going on. Cops got access to all the most vulnerable people that could so easily fall through the cracks. For every kayfabe story about cops, it's good to remember the reality is that police ARE a terror to a whole lot of people out there, and lots of people who join up do so because of that desire to terrorize. They ain't got much else to offer.
In my old city a cop searches up a girls address that had been charged for something minor and went to her house and yk hurt her. It was sad to hear that, I've had my own experiences with weird cops. People never believed me but that story when it caught people's attention they started to believe me, some cops are nice but I've seen a lot of bad ones
This is amazingly hard work putting all this together. All the emergency services, police, fire, ambulance, doctors & nurses are worth their weight in gold. And as for people who are on their phones instead of concentrating on driving & watching the road, they should be jailed starting at 10 years & banned as far as i'm concerned. Afterall, vehicles are deadly weapons as much as guns 🖤👿
I'm so conditioned to falling asleep to your videos that I barely make it through one story anymore. Not complaining. Thank you Let's Read. If it weren't for your videos I'd probably still have sleep problems
I don't know why but it gave me chills when you mentioned Vernon-Verona-Sherrill and that the school district is tied into the Craigslist Killer. To think he went to a school district not far from where I live and family members work/worked at. Gives me the heebies.
I have listened to a lot of Let’s Read, but this is the first compilation that I can’t stomach. I’ve got second hand trauma from all the first responder stories
I get soo excited everytime I see new content I'm picky too only like to listen to someone's content if it's over an hour long anything under an hour I tend to just skip right over

All that heartbreak could have been avoided if the truck driver wouldn't have been screwing with his phone. Needless to say, the dude is going to be doing some major jail time.
What’s even worse is if he has no prior she likely won’t serve jail time for vehicular manslaughter.

The shaken baby story is PRECISELY why I wholeheartedly support people choosing to not have kids. Some people simply cannot and should not be parents.

It is absolutely unacceptable to have a nasty attitude with an employee! Your imperious bullshit ends when you walk out of your home. I hope that customer gets what she deserves in life and I'm glad the young lady wasn't seriously hurt.
Once again thank you for the content buddy. You help a lot of people including me.
Whoo hoooo!! 2.5 hours of Joel ♥️♥️ My favourite day of the week
I have a math test tomorrow I forgot to study for wish me luck lmaoo
Good luck! 🍀💫 I know you will do well 🤙🏻
43:02 I’ve done donuts in a gravel parking lot .. 😢😢😢.. I always wear a seatbelt. . & I make sure no one gets in my car without wearing one .
Perfect timing, Joel. Thank you.
Yes! Something to listen to while working on Tuesday. Thank you!
Wow, I haven't been this early since..... I've never been this early! Can't wait to hear the stories you've got for us! :)
Yes, just done with the last upload. I'm so glad and eager to listen. ❤️❤️ thank you..
Thank You Joel!
Love all your amazing stories hear you branching out congratulations keep moving one of my very favorite story teller thank you
49:58 are you kidding?
I absolutely love the music he uses in these, and I wish every video had it! 🖤
Love listening to your stories while embalming
Your voice is so calming
I'm so conditioned to falling asleep to your videos that I barely make it through one story anymore. Not complaining. Thank you Let's Read. If it weren't for your videos I'd probably still have sleep problems
Hey yall and Joel have a great night's sleep
I couldn't make it past the 2nd EMT story. Thank God for all our rescue and Healthcare workers!❤
I don't know why but it gave me chills when you mentioned Vernon-Verona-Sherrill and that the school district is tied into the Craigslist Killer. To think he went to a school district not far from where I live and family members work/worked at. Gives me the heebies.
This was a masterpiece narrated by a master.
I should not have listened to this to fall asleep. It was to good and I ended up listening to the whole thing. Great work sir.
Joel FTW
I have listened to a lot of Let’s Read, but this is the first compilation that I can’t stomach. I’ve got second hand trauma from all the first responder stories
Woo Hoo! A new video, thanks Joel💜
I get soo excited everytime I see new content I'm picky too only like to listen to someone's content if it's over an hour long anything under an hour I tend to just skip right over
