  • According to an older video by ricohallo22 ( • A loud Unknown elevato... ), this elevator used to have manual swing doors as shaft doors and folding inner doors. It has since been converted to glass sliding doors of the telescopic center-opening type, although it is unknown in which year the door replacement occurred. The year of construction of the elevator is also unknown.
Instead of steel cables, two chains are attached to the car top, as a look through the glass doors reveals. At the top of the shaft, the chains are diverted back down via unpowered sheaves. With the elevator car at the lower landing, the chains barely extend beyond their diversion at the shaft top. Rather than going directly to a motor, the lose chain ends are attached to steel cables. At the bottom of the shaft, further unpowered sheaves divert the cables back to the shaft top, where they are presumably wound onto a winding drum. However, neither the motor nor the presumed winding drum are visible.
This video includes additional footage of a dumbwaiter in a glass shaft. It is a simple single-speed traction model and is located nearby, across the street from Utrecht Centraal railway station.
