It always blows me away when I see something like this. One man can run the entire unit from the cab.The hydraulics and the controls that run them are just a twist of the wrist or flick of a switch away. What a very cool machine. Thanks for the video!!!
Holy crap that is a fast rock drill for blasting! Clean and efficiant too...
Slick video. I'm surprised at how small that machine is. Very compact machine.
I've seen a lot of drills with the side compartments open to keep them cool.
Welcome! I think he was averaging about 15 minutes to drill one hole, but I could be wrong. The hardness of the rock determines how long it will take to drill one hole. The number of holes depends on the size of the shot
Nice video. i take it the rig has a slight overheating problem thats why the side door is open. extra cooling lol.
The DI600 can drill to a max depth of 137ft. On this job he was using two steels, so 40ft holes are what you see him drilling.
It can vary for every mine, but normally the drill should be a few weeks ahead of the production crew. In this video, the drill is 3 weeks ahead; the backhoe is working on a shot and there is another shot already fired and ready to be dug before he will get to this one where the drill is.
I remember when you had to change the steel yourself, and I don't miss that. Sure would be nice to have one of these babies to run.
How many minutes per hole and how many holes? Thanks in advance and very interesting video, as usual!
Yep, it's fast. He was averaging about 15-20 minutes to drill a single 40ft hole.
How far ahead are the drill rigs from the rest of the operation?
pretty neat vid but next time lets see the K-BOOM that follows after the drilling
How deep can be drilled? Thanks for the reply
What is it doing at 1:24? Going to a wider bit?
No installing a second steel. Each steel is 20ft in length, he has to drill 40ft so he has two use two steels
Is this drill good or better than other crawler drills?
That has to be my first spelling error on a video title, haha, thanks
It's a cool rig until you have to change one of thosehydraulic hoses in the middle of that mess going up the mast. Or fill the steel rack with those heavy bastards.
yes it a common fault with drill rigs especially those with hydraulic driven fans like this sandvik.
