I really love how excited you are to wash your car, it's really endearing and reminds me of myself. I just bought a brand new 2021 Honda Accord 2.0T SE and I washed it for the first time and felt and acted the same way. Love how it turned out c:

The reason why you go in circles when you wax is because by the time you wash and dry in straight lines, the surface theoretically is 100% clean and dirt free so when you go in circles for waxing it doesn’t cause scratches :)
That is such a badass looking car man. After the wash the paint just pops. Washing my car is my favorite thing to do on a Saturday. I never told you congrats on the engagement! From the interaction you both had on video, you can tell your both happy together.

I had my car life time ceramic coated. Paint correction, 5 layer ceramic pro etc. Definitely the best invest to save time car comes clean way easier. Also make sure to brake boost night and day difference.
You should be using two buckets along with a grit guard. You will get swirl marks on that soft, gorgeous black paint. You can use a leaf blower to assist with the drying process. You want to minimize any direct contact with the paint. Also, I would install a ceramic coating along with paint protection film. BTW I have a ceramic coating on my 2013 Accord and the paint looks better than new. Just hand washes and Duragloss Aquawax used as a drying aide. During the Wisconsin winter's also put a coat of Klasse sealant for added protection. Great shine and gloss even on alabaster silver.
Also, the reason why buffing off wax in circular motions is more acceptable is simply because at that point, the paint is clean and free of dirt/contaminants. When washing, you are actively removing said dirt hence needing more precautions.
Car looks amazing. I would of loved to get a type r but I drive a lot for wk and use it for wk so I had to buy a civic hatchback sport. One day my wife let me get a type R

Few tips for washing; Store things in buckets so that you dont pick up stones or anything which can cause micro scratches. To prevent scratching first without a pressure washer, wet the car first then try pouring the soap from the bucket over the car first. Then wash down with a mitt. To maximise the clay, pull parts of it off and re-need it after moving from 1 section, then wipe off with a microfibre. Will prevent water marking. Just small things but will help in the long run :) I'd also use a polish before wax'ing just to make it shine a little more. Nothing major but detailing is about your means, methods and tools at your disposal. Other than that (Only commenting because you asked for advice), I dont see much else wrong! Enjoy the car man. Congrats. EDIT - In regards to your question about directions of removing wax. Washing and removing wax i always presumed it was left, right, up and down. Unless its because the wax is a sticky abrasive compound - which in turn may just cause marring if not removed in small partions.
Also, you might consider a small leaf blower to get rid of the water. I use it when I hand wash my cars at home and it really eliminates towel swirl marks while drying.
looking clean! i will say you need a new wash mitt lol never throw it on the ground it picks up tiny pieces of dirt and rocks and will scratch the shit out of your paint

Suggestion: Ceramic coat the paint and the rims for added protection against swirls and rock chips, and higher resale value. Also detail it to correct factory paint flaws before you ceramic coating.
I loved that last little bit between you two haha Your Type-R looks awesome! You have such a good attitude/personality. Really admire that. Keep being you Cameron!
Hey Cameron, congrats on the Type R, as a fellow Type R owner and detailing nerd I’ll share some things that I’ve learned. Definitely get the front PPF’d. The paint on these cars is prone to chipping and my PPF has saved me from a bunch of rock chips already. It was definitely worth it. Also go grab a touch up kit from your local Honda dealer. I’ve got a few chips just like yours after 6k miles and even some diy touch up will look totally fine and is easy to apply. Also paint correction on the paint is very easy. I’ve only needed to use lighter polishes (no heavy compounds needed so far) to remove 95% of all swirls I’ve seen. Congrats again from Connecticut!
I’m a detailer here in Central PA. Anytime I’m waxing especially a black vehicle I always wax right to left I don’t do circling motion. Depending on the quality of the wax swirling can show up and will get worse as you apply more wax. You can always use swirl remover but it’s just added time. A machine does go in a circle but it will always spread evenly depending on how good you are with it even then there are sometime swirling. So next time give it a shot to just go left to right like 3 times in a row and work your way down a panel. Love your content buddy. Always love watching these videos and I’m glad your open to comments. Usually people will get a tad triggered my these comments just trying to make your car look good and saving you the extra money and time.
You wash your car side to side because if you cause scratches. Their more easy to correct and take out if they were made all in the same motion so when you buff and polish your car. Where as if you wash your car going in different motions you will most likely have to use different cutting compounds and motions to achieve the same results.
Hi bro been watching your journey when you bought the Type R and the drive back home so thanks so thanks helping me with my anxiety watching the drive journey
Welcome to the R community and enjoy the car it’s a blast. I’m currently 10k on the odometer and I regret not getting PPF 😖. I did get it ceramic coated and man it’s like glass all the time and dirt does not stick to it. I’m loving the content so keep it up.
Heck yeah!! Looks incredible Cam!! I’m so stoked for ya brother!! I look forward to seeing your videos with the Type R!! Keep up the incredible content!! I have always admired how good and interactive you are to the subscribers and fans!! I have been watching for a bit now and have loved watching the channel grow! Have a great week! God bless you my brother! 🚙👍🏼🚙👍🏼🚙
You guys are fun to watch together - love the interaction you have with each other. That is one nice car . For a good hose, try one of those fabric expanding hoses; they expand so fast and are so much more lighter and nimble to move around; and when you turn the water off the hose will decompress removing all the water from itself leaving you a very small compact hose to easily store away. I use them all the time and love them for car washes.
The reason why you can wax/polish/compound in circle motion is because the paint is clean meaning when you washing you’re car you’re most likely to drag dirt and scratch the paint. In other words meaning there will be dirt in you’re washing pad and it can scratch the car, especially with black.
Hey Cameron, congrats buddy, been watching your channel for quite a while now. Appreciate all your content. I too am a recent Type R owner, just wanted to say congrats and I also wash mine by hand. The car is great, hope you enjoy it for a long time to come.
I heard your girlfriends comments in the background about not having heated seats. I test drove one last year and was disappointed to find out it didn’t have heated seats or a heated steering wheel, living in Michigan it’s a must and I already have it on my focus ST.
Car looks beautiful bro! The gold class wash with the wax is the best imo. Been using it for years. For the tires.. Get the little sponge thingy.. Spray the tire love on it.. And wipe it around the tire. No slime on the paint or rims!
For the tire dressing, I always spray on a small sponge, then wipe on! You get consistent application of the product. Some part stores sell a "curved" sponge just for that purpose.
I believe the reasoning behind waxing off in a circular motion is to attack the wax residue from every angle to buff it in and level the wax coating on the paint.
You guys are hilarious together on camera lol. And so relatable. I cannot wait to see the next couple races you have setup. Will be interesting to see just how better the Type R is vs the Si. Can't wait for more!!
Scratches while washing your car is somewhat inevitable in the long term. Washing in straight lines reduces the chance of swirl marks; and straight scratches are less obvious than swirls. Also waxing a car is typically done when the car is clean of contaminants, so buffing wax off in circles means the towel won’t have anything to grab onto to make scratches. Plus buffing can be hard sometimes lmao
The combo of black paint, and seeing the wash mitt just tossed on the group hurt my soul. One of my Subarus is a 2011 WRX hatch in obsidian black pearl, and black paint is the bane of my existence. It does help keep the miles low because I want it to always be clean haha. I have put 35,000 miles on it in the 7 years I have owned it. I probably would have made it my daily if it were any other color. Thank god my daily is silver and my STI is white!!!! I have mad respect for you bro, I am interested to see how you like the black.. Honda does have way higher quality paint compared to Subaru, but damn my obsidian black pearl is a nightmare. Lastly, with black you REALLY need to do a 3 bucket method. One for wheels only, one for soap, and one for rinse. NEVER use a drying towel that has touched the wheels either!
I rinsed off the washing mitt before touching the car with it. and thank you very much. Ill go get some more buckets. I did not use the wheel towels on the paint!
Next mod ? A house with a driveway and a hose that reaches. LOL ! Car looks great ! Are you going to get it ceramic coated ? Say good bye to waxing. Maybe some PPF or something. Black looks great for about 1 hour then the OCD kicks in (I know I have a 2.0T 6MT Accord Sport). Doh ! I got my wife's AMG SUV coated. Best $500bucks you will ever spend unless you want to do it yourself because you can watch YT video's and do it it better than the experts. Did you see what I did there?

Taken from Car and Driver, “Honda noted that the scoop is able to reduce lift at speed by relieving pressure from underneath”
Why so rude calm down bud
Really though, can’t come in here talking like that without knowing facts Xd
The scoop doesn’t feed the intake or engine air. It comes around and out the fenders. It’s 100% a functional downforce item. Way to go fool.

Once I finish med school I can’t wait for this car and watching your videos makes me hyped!!!!
I recommend cristal X tire shine! A brand from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
That shit stains your car
Great that you made it home with ("No Rock Chips") Amazing.
After road trips usually I am less lucky, cracked windshield or new chips.
Youd love detail geek, hes awesome and DISTURBINGLY THOROUGH lol.
Hi bro been watching your journey when you bought the Type R and the drive back home so thanks so thanks helping me with my anxiety watching the drive journey
haha it did cause some anxiety for me and a lot of people who watched it! all is good now
Welcome to the R community and enjoy the car it’s a blast.
Thank you, Shaun!
You’re welcome brother!!👍🏼👍🏼
Hey Cameron, when you said, 'Their fries just suck'.. I felt that. Congrats homie!
I heard your girlfriends comments in the background about not having heated seats. I test drove one last year and was disappointed to find out it didn’t have heated seats or a heated steering wheel, living in Michigan it’s a must and I already have it on my focus ST.
I’m so proud of you for getting the Type R! What a Journey!
Car looks so Beautiful! 👊🏻
Thanks!
Congrats on your new car and congrats on your engagement!
I can't believe I was sleeping on the black. That looks so clean!
@@Camhill182 Honda paint is vastly superior to Subaru paint too so you have that working for you.
Amazon sells foam cannons that include a quick connect/disconnect for your hose. Usually about $40 then you don't have to worry about wash buckets.
Congrats on the Type R! Love the content, keep it up man. One piece of advice on the clay bar is to rip a smaller chunk off and knead it until it’s softer before using
Thanks for the tip!
AWESOME!! The exhaust is so loud that I felt it vibrating hard from my Bluetooth speaker that I take with me everywhere I go!!!!!!!
I actually get excited to watch your videos when you post them, and you’re the only channel that I drop a like on and actually watch the whole video haha. Love your stuff man. Good stuff, pls keep up the videos!
Thats a HUGE compliment. Thank you
@@Camhill182 weirdly enough find myself re-watching your videos too... hope that’s not weird hahah
@@travishoranski7470 wow, no thats not weird at all. thats flattering. I'm very happy to hear someone appreciates my work!
Been watching since 4k subs. Keep it up man, really enjoy the content!
