When I moved for college, my parents literally dropped me in my new room and left me to unpack it all. Hahaha.

Put the blame where it is deserved, on your own parents, not others who are luckier to have parents who go to more effort for their child.
I am sorry to all those students who wished their parents had been more helpful when moving out.
I am sure some parents chose that quick approach, like you do with toddlers at nursery, so to not drag out the emotional upset but then I am sure there are some parents who are just selfish. I hope the children of those people manage to surround themselves with supportive friends.

I was born in Winona!!! I still live in Minnesota but we moved away. Most of my moms family still lives in Winona though! And we visit at least 3 times a year
