- This week's Wednesday Quickie is a review of Zatarains hot spicy chicken fry mix thighs air fryer style. New Orleans Style hot and spicy. Let me tell ya this was so dang good...spicy and good, wonderful breading and true to the title.

Booger, what a great product! What a great review! You've now reviewed 847 products (I've been counting) that called themselves "spicy," but almost all have fallen short of your expectations. I have to try this one. I love spicy! I can use it when Ms. Lulu is out of town. She could never take the heat. You know what they say, if you can't take the heat, stay outta the kitchen!

Papa..I think I broke the internet with the batter bowl..it's gone..from every place I thought it was at....I had someone tell me they searched all day on the world wide intra'net and couldn't find it anywhere...it's an awesome dang contraption and it seems they don't make it anymore..I hate that!! why do they stop making a good thing?? ugh..Tom loves spicy but his tummy doesn't..this is way too hot for you my love

I just ordered three boxes of this from Walmart.com because they don’t have it in my store. Fried up a bunch of wingettes today and HOLY MOLY!!! Great seasoning but BEJUS it’s hot!! I like spicy but this had me breathing hard. I ate three pieces of chicken and had to stop. Home alone and my hubs will love it for himself when he gets home but I can’t take it. Love Zatarain’s stuff but this is a little too much for me.
Btw just adding on…I’ve had that same Batter Pro for over 20 years! I got it from QVC. I don’t believe they sell it anymore but I do love it.

ok just checked..that's the one that the ratings weren't that great..let me know how it works..seems it sips out a little ..not a tight seal

Newish subscriber here. This was the first thing I tried in my new air fryer, thanks to this video. It was SPICEEEE but delicious. I just ordered the buttermilk version from Amazon since my grocery store only carries the spicy version. I was curious if you prefer Zatarain’s or the Louisiana brand chicken breading mix? Thanks !

I totally understand that..My husband loves spicy but his tummy doesn't..so I just make spicy stuff like this for myself. You could do non spicy ones for them like Kentucky Kernel is pretty mild, hooters batter is a real good one. I find most of the things I review at Walmart...I am trying to get a link to this where you can buy it online to make it easier for everybody. I appreciate you stoppin in!

I mixed mine up as you did, but fried it in oil in a cast iron skillet, and it wasn't hot at all. Whenever I fry chicken that's supposed to be hot, it seems like the hot/heat cooks out. What am I doing wrong?
Well there are 2 different versions of this mix now....even though it says New Orleans does it say 'hot and spicy' under that title? the one that doesn't say hot and spicy is just regular mild mix so I'm wondering if that's the one you got..

I did buy it, I buy all my reviewed products unless a friend of mine sends me their's ...I got it at a Walmart I think...I buy so many...but I have contacted Zatarain's to ask them where we can purchase it online cause I could not find it anywhere..and their link on their site does not work as of yet..working on fixing that

If I could have reached into my computer screen and grabbed that fatty chicken flap I would have had it before you even noticed. Man oh man that is the part of chicken that is the best. Honestly, the coating was great but I want that extra flap of chicken skin and fat. Coating or not. I'd fight you for it. No...wait...you'd win! I'll beg instead. You'd be kind to a begger right? I'm the guy who wants the "scraps".

Hi there Shantel. I use it all the time just not on videos much..anytime I wrap something in bacon I use the rack, I use it when I cook steaks..so many other things. Also use it when I want to cook 2 layers of something like biscuits or even toast

Corrina I do..but when it comes to a battered food..I use the aerosol spray so I just get a light spray on top..the Evo sprays more than what I need for battered stuff..I use both , just depends on what I cook
