If Nike don't want us to buy fakes then they should put out enough for us all to get a pair, instead of letting us get robbed by resalers.

The smell is the worst way to LC shoes. I've had retail Jordan 1s (direct from Nike) that had a super strong smell and I've had reps with no smell at all. It's all a function of how long ago they were produced, so if a rep was made more than one or two months ago, it will smell like a retail pair and if a retail pair is really new it may smell like a rep.
The first giveaway is shoe branch when look from the back. So far I don’t fake able to master that yet. The real one looks like Y shape while fake one have Y shape but the top of the Y curl inward. Stop at 3:12 and you can see the different.
