Flacco is a starter on literally half the teams in the league. Its wild that teams would let him sit, Id love to have him in TN.
Needless to say..we would take him in carolina
CLE made a horrible mistake not re-signing Flacco.
Browns being Browns as usual.
HEY we have deshaun. WHO could of possibly known he would be complete ass. Oh.. most people? My bad..
Especially for Heinous Winston!
They still weren’t going to bench Watson though and couldnt afford a expensive backup
@dingbatkhat Yes. All true but they got a guy gifted to them. He had chemistry with every receiver. You just don't throw that away. You CANNOT. NOT AT THAT POSITION. You make it happen whatever it takes.
Amazing that Flacco is still playing at 87 years old
He won a Super Bowl, got paid a kajillion dollars after, then fell off so hard. Was cool to see him on that browns team coming off the couch haha
@@Mythowars his line was terrible at the end.
don't sleep on flaco, he beat my niners in super bowl and im still butt hurt after all this time
@@jandoxbsbnx I mean the chokers don't have a good reputation in Superbowls these days
And he’s better than most
Jordan Love waited out A.Rodgers. Richardson can wait out Flacco. Best guy should ALWAYS win the job.
And AR’s barely old enough to drink
Cause he was going take the spot with Rodgers there healthy and somewhat still elite
Exactly right, who came up with if you pick a qb high in the draft he has to start? Brady sat behind Bledsoe, also, and after sitting out 2000 wouldn't have started in 2001 if Bledsoe didn't get injured.
Y'all always ignore how much each person played in college. Jordan Love played quite a bit in college. Aaron when he sat behind Favre played quite a bit in college. Mahomes who sat behind Alex Smith for a year played quite a bit in college they had a bunch of experience playing before sitting. Look at Trey Lance he has sat for a long time now and just threw 5 picks in the preseason he's the only other prospect aside from Richardson who barely played in college. Lance obviously needs to play to grow same thing with Richardson
'Best guy should always win the job' we're agreeing with you but unfortunately Joey is that guy right now 🤷🏿♂️

Miami should sign Flacco to a 2 year contract.
Nah that makes too much sense...
Flacco my favorite player of all time. Ive watched every single game he’s ever played in since he’s been drafted, I even bought his Denver merchandise, 😔I still have a Denver Flacco shirt. My ex girlfriend painted me a canvas that says ‘Flacco Jets #5’. I’m literally a Flacco mega fan. It’s kinda sick. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Flacco is currently better than Aaron Rodgers
True
Absolutely he is better than Rodgers ! Completely agree ! 👍
A couple years ago I remember Lombardi going on and on about how good the Colts were going to be with Matt Ryan and it was an absolute train wreck.
Thats the case with most of Lombos takes
Yeah bad take. Matty Ice was washed by that point. His last season on the Falcons you could see he couldn't hit long passes anymore.
Pats would be 3-2 with Flacco starting the first 5 games. Signing Brisset before Flacco was even signed told you that Pats weren't serious about waiting a whole year for Maye to start.
Browns would be 4-1 if they kept Flacco and started him. Look what he did for that team in just 5 games last year.
@Calibrownsfan I haven't watched the browns this year but I believe u
Probably signed Brissett cause he was on the Patriots and knows the system. This makes him more valuable for Maye's development .

Joe Flacco is better than Aaron Rodgers right now and no one is talking about it
That’s what I’ve been saying. He has the same amount of super bowls
That talk will make Rodgers fire you
It’s the same old story that has plagued running qbs (RG3 comes to mind), running is what makes him special, but can’t take the punishment, take away the running element and they become average at best QBs unfortunately
I said last year when he kept getting hurt every game that my worst fear was that he would be the next RG3. So far those fears are still there
@@Druhhhhh9905RGIII was just unlucky. His rookie season he set the NFL on fire, like Jayden is now. AR just doesn’t have the basic skills to be a NFL franchise QB. You can’t be successful in the league completing less than 60% of your passes in 2024.
@@joeshmoe8134Jayden can actually make throws from the pocket and has some semblance of how to read a defense. AR is just out there winging it. It works at time because he’s a athletic freak but if you can’t make basic throws and read a defense you can’t even try to start playing QB in the league
This was Maxx Crosbys favorite segment
What will help the Colts is getting rid of Gus Bradley, and it's not about injuries because his defense stinks with or without injuries
If AR is healthy, he has to play. No question.
I like Flaccos old school helmet.
They better put Flacco in and they better protect him.
Here we go. Real Colts fans know AR needs to play. We all knew this was gonna be a 2-3 year project. Real Colts fans know we not going to the playoffs, even with Flacco we're still a 7-10team. This year was about AR playing games and getting experience.
100% this
Lmao you think he needs 2-3 years? Bro he's not a fast learner, he's not gonna "get it" until year 7 or 8

While I agree. What good will it do if he gets hurt every half a game?
@@georgealvarez1195And you know this how?
Keep Flacco in.
Here's a huge wishful thinking idea... We keep Flacco, who is slinging the football like a pro he is, and Colts go for Adam's? With Pittman out for his back and don't know how long(if not severely injured, of course). Now I know Adam's would probably not do this because he wants a ring, so KC and Bills would be better places, but just what if.
bench him and play Flacco. make him mad and tell him to earn his starting role. next season he'll be a beast after studying under future HoFer Joe Flacco(in if he gets the respect he deserves)
I genuinely love seeing Colts fans swear allegiance to AR. That’s what fans are supposed to do….unconditional, blind, ignorant, ridiculous love for a high draft pick with no history of success or leadership. Forget that 28 other teams wouldn’t take AR. Forget that he’s injury prone. Don’t pay attention to his inaccuracy and limited defense reading ability. Just pure unadulterated, unconditional love. Colts fans are in the honeymoon stage still. Let them be happy.
Says Joe shmoe
Not this colts fan. Richardson is terrible, Ballard made a bad gamble on drafting him and hopefully it will cost Ballard his job. I look for Richardson to be out of the league in 3 to 4 years I don't wish for players to get hurt but the colts could win with Flacco, not so much with Misserdson.🤣🤣🤣
@@chrisparson4542 right
they drafted him based off the josh allen mold. raw talented prospects with fixable issues. i'm no colts fan but considering that he is raw i think it's a bit premature to give up on him after only 8 games. it took josh allen 3 years to look even remotely decent. it's still not a guarantee that he will be anything, but it's worth the wait if it pays off.
@@eyz-4 finaly somebody with a brain although I think he will show out sooner
Why not have a bunch of packages for AR and let Flacco run it for a bit ??
If the colts want to win now they need to start Flacco
But they said that they aren't in "win now" mode. They have a lot of young talent locked up for a while.
Where’s the talent?
Flacco should stay this year
He's signed for the year lol
Joe Flacco is the current Vinny Testaverde
I totally agree they need AR to get reps to develop, but it would be nice if Flacco could have started a few more and maybe a big name QB goes down on a contender and Indy could get a day 2 pick for Flacco
It's not a developmental league. Going 4-13 with a guy that can't hit a 10 yard out or a screen option ain't going to cut it. He needs to sit and work with Tom house all season to work on mechanics.
It's like he had a shoulder injury that set back his development

@Rowsy91 Or he had a shoulder injury that had never really healed and he had to compensate for it.
As a colts fan I say keep Flacco in , ik we need to let AR get reps , but he not even letting himself stay healthy to even get reps
I was thinking the same. Except put in Richardson on some wildcat type plays to keep the defense guessing while getting Richardson more reps slowly over time that way while Flacco starts this year.
That rug is as glorious as Flacco's arm!
Also bet joe Flacco. Made me a grand on +1000-3000 parlays last year
Start AR, let him hurt himself again, put Flacco back in... easy peasy.
Steelers fan here... Joe Flacco got that DAWG in him.
If they’re actually trying to win games and possibly playoff games then ya they should start Joe.
If not…you need to keep developing Richardson. Keeping him out of games may be the best way to do that right now also so who knows
Bet the Browns wished they stuck with Joe Flacco lol
Or Mayfield
Last year of my Madden 2001 Cleveland Browns franchise rebuild, I had to make a tough decision. Tim Couch wasn't playing well at all, and I had this young qb that was fairly highly rated (76 ovr)...so I decided in the middle of a lost season to start the young man. That season we had a .500 record and missed the playoffs, but won several in a row to end the year. The next year, I name the young guy the starter, get some pieces to put around him (99 ovr Bubba Franks at TE and an improved offensive line) and now we're in the Super Bowl. Moral of the story: I'm a f***ing nerd, but you gotta play your young guys to let them develop.
Funny addendum: We just beat the Colts in Indy in the AFC Title game on a last second TD "DRIVE" led by a qb named "DESHAWN". I love Madden.
I love this arc
Do you use the real draft class with rebuild like 02,03 from real
Life ?
As a browns fan i wish he was still here. On a side note, i wish the steelers would be stupid and start Wilson and let Fields go.
No one understands what development means anymore, make him sit and earn the starting job by becoming the best chance at winning
And he sits for a season and Flacco leaves and then another band aid comes in. Sounds like a great plan
@@soulknife20if bro can’t beat out Flacco and whatever back up they have next year then he’s just not that guy and the colts need to move on.
But he's not developing and staying on the field...that's a huge part of developing
how can he develop when he's always injured?? no practice reps or walk throughs, games, Aaron rogers sat for 4 years, you can develop without guys trying to kill you, putting him in live games is saying you have to win right now or you're fired
Sitting on sidelines doesn't make you better. You still need to be putting in work behind the scenes
Flacco is awesome…he has 5 energetic kids at home they keep him in shape when he’s between teams😂…he’s on his 6th team and still has a lot in the tank 😮
Anthony should sit and study. work him in when we can, he is too inconsistent. GO FLACCO!!!!!
Id go with the superbowl champ joey flacco!
Flacco lives in Haddonfield? Dang. I grew up right around there. Still live close.
Flacco is obv better than A Rich.
That was clear going into the season i thought
Flacco should go to Miami but if he’s happy to be with us I’d love to have him!! The kid needs the reps though he’s still growing
When do we start talking about the lack of pocket passers in the nfl? And how about when veteran pocket passers come in and destroy modern defenses? The league has a qb problem
The top three best QBs in football are mobile QBs buddy
@gerardangelo7975 I am not bashing mobile qbs. The league is so fixated on mobile qbs they have almost completely disregarded cultivating pocket passers. I can't think of any young pocket qbs except burrow. When old traditional pocket passers from the 2010s get some run (like flacco) they eat the modern defenses up. Just saying its easier to shut down those mobile qb guys in the passing game. which makes the overall game less enjoyable
No it has a woke problem. A racebaiting problem. A dei problem. And an idiot problem. Pocket passers are underdeveloped because there is so much money in college ball the coaches are simplifying offenses so the don't have to develop the qb . Problem is in college your opponent has maybe one nfl caliber player so when they get to the nfl those offenses don't work. So the qb has to be developed for years and then you don't know if he will be able to make the adjustment.
He throws an A+ deep ball
And D- in every other throw.
Found the salty AR holder
The person that has actually played QB is a better QB??? Who wouldve thought
Cleveland letting Joe Flacco go was straight politics.
The real discussion will begin if Lamar gets hurt, God forbid, and the Ravens need a proven backup. In comes the Elite Dragon and he takes his old team to the Superbowl again, and wins it. This is more of a league wide question, but what do QB needy teams do if Flacco goes full 2011/2012 playoff run and wins a SB with one of the greatest post season runs in NFL history?
I think Flacco can be the new George Blanda the old man that’s available when they need him!
Is the "Alex" Pierce bugging anybody else? 🤔
always, it's alec I don't see how hard it is to understand 😂
AR has a weird throwing motion
ELITE
Here we go... now Anthony Richardson is going to tell reporters that this 1 year GM to STFU😂😂😂
I think both sides of the develop argument have a point, I don’t think you need to play him entire game & I also don’t think he should sit… they ought to chalk this year up to learning & rotate the QB’s out during the game, & Flacco can coach him up in real time.. With Flacco you can have a winning season, great, but with a buttoned-up AR you could have a winning decade.. EVERY TEAM wants a stroud/Daniel’s Situation with a star QB on a rookie deal because that’s a sure fire way to build a contender
Just start Flacco.
Dumb take. Don’t be dumb. You play the developmental guy you drafted with more upside. Take the lumps as they come. AR hasn’t lost the team games, the defense has.
%100 defense has been our downfall
no. you play whomever gives you the best chance to win. Let him develop when your team is out of contention
@@Calibrownsfan not in this case. Josh Allen played thru the ups and downs and developed. Same scenario here, he’s gotta play to develop.
If Flacco plays, the win ceiling is no different than with Minshew, and playoffs are still narrowly missed. Flacco and the colts were 1 dimensional last week.
Colts fans should want to prioritize the future, not now where it looks like the DC could be out by before the bye week and half the team could be not ready to win by next year because of that.
It’s a similar situation to the Giants under Daboll - the playoff win set the expectation too high going in to the next year.
Facts
Here's the thing he's coming off injury and he has a vet to learn from. There's no harm giving him time to learn from someone well he heals especially when you would just be sending him in to take hits that aren't needed
Richardson looks like the biggest kid on the high school football team who's dad gives the school money...he is NOT a Quarterback! He has no touch, and no feel for the rush or the concept of throwing people open. Ballard can lift all the weights he wants but he is still doesn't know pro football scouting. How long do we have to put up with these clowns? Protect the Shoe!
Or...and stay with me here. HE NEEDS TO PLAY!
Why do the Colts have to go with Richardson? Rodgers sat behind Farve, Love sat behind Rodgers and Brady sat behind Bledsoe. Look how many top picks have been ruined by starting them before they are ready. Just because they were picked high doesn't mean you have to start them. Why do sportscasters even say that?
Joey flac for president
Wishing Flacco signed with the fins
Anthony Richardson is not a QB. He is a RB that throws the ball poorly. That’s it. Any sensitive colts fan that doesn’t agree doesn’t under NFL football. Wait…. Do colts fans know anything about football? Lol
Are you talking about american football or soccer? 😆 🤣
It's like he needs to be developed
Dude ( a.r ) will never have a full season. He will always be hurt
miami should had got flacco to back up tua his arm tyreek and waddle would be perfect
Same situation with Josh Allen. It's gonna look rough at times, but you gotta let the guy play
More a Daniel Jones than Josh Allen
Everyone forgets to mention all those qb tombstones Allen's walked on between him and Jim Kelly. It's like colts fans are in the bargaining phase "well he could be josh allen" it's more likely than not we got josh freeman than josh allen. It's just objective statistical likelihood
@@Travisjoe31 JA has been taking massive hits for years
@@Travisjoe31 Or maybe Colts fans want to give him a chance before we write him off after 5 games. Everyone knew he was a raw player coming out of college, now everyone is surprised that he's a raw player after a handful of games? To say it's a bargaining phase is like saying he's a lost cause already and people are trying to be delusional about it. I’m a huge AR fan but I think we let Flacco ride it out! That man is one of the last of the Manning/Brady/Brees era QBs. Love watching him play
@@seththomas6727 those bums should be honored to have played in the Flacco Era
It's probably best for Richardson to sit and learn as well.
I would scheme up rotating AR and Joe, depending on the plays. It gives AR some time to play and get reps, and the other team needs to scheme for both of them.
This....isn't a bad idea
Agree I don't know why more teams don't do this
Like Taysom Hill in NO?
It's OK to let Anthony Richardson sit a bit longer and learn from Flacco I don't see the issue personally
Honestly, it doesn't matter who we have in at QB considering our defense can't stop a nosebleed.
I would start whoever can took the Browns to the playoffs.
There's no question Flacco is the better QB. But there's also no question this has to be AR's team. He HAS to play and get more experience to see if he can development into his potential. That takes a lot more sample size than what we've seen. As a Colts fan, it's so frustrating, but that's just the ugly truth of the matter.
I will say this. AR needs to play but what they should do is the way the Ravens did with Flacco and Lamar Jackson. Have them both play the position. This will speed up his process. Give them some of the same plays so when AR is out doing that play if he messes up then you have him focus on Flacco and his body movement when he throws in the same play. As AR grows that will be the turning point for him.
Really dumb discussion. AR needs reps to improve and he can’t get those reps, *drumroll*,.. unless he’s getting those reps. 🤦♂️
Reps are important but you can learn from sitting to. Not everyone learns the same way and after luck do you really want to rush him back
@@themaker2149 No, not just “important” but the only thing that matters right now in his development curve. Game-speed reps and experience.
Right after he was drafted Chris Ballard and Coach Steichen said he’s not going to be great year 1 but year 3. This is his 8th NFL game, effectively halfway through a rookie year.
Casuals need to understand that and stop poking the kid with a stick and wondering why he’s not Josh Allen or Lamar yet.
@@thirdplace3973 here’s the dilemma for Colts fans. You either stick with Flacco and win some games and possibly make the playoffs or you play AR and lose a bunch of games. There is no world in which AR leads the Colts to playoffs this year and most likely next. So as a Colts fan, what’s more important? Winning games and the playoffs or losing games a developing AR.
@@joeshmoe8134 That’s not a dilemma at all. You continue to develop your QB1.
@@thirdplace3973 And how much time are you going to give him if he keeps getting hurt or doesn't show enough improvement? I mean if you look at it, this is almost identical to Trey Lance Situation
This shouldn't even be a debate. The colts spent 5 years of boring football clawing our way to .500 trying this with Wentz, Rivers, Ryan and Brissett. This team isn't going far in the playoffs with Flacco and he just lost to the 0-4 Jags (Played well, we still lost though). Any decision other than play AR until the end of his year 3 season then evaluate is the wrong one. Amazing that AR was considered one of the most raw QB prospects ever because of his lack of game reps, and people now question whether he should get game reps to develop.
Pat's wrong as a Colts guy for even putting this out there, just adding fuel to the fire
Richardson is not anywhere close to being a good QB
yes just as the browns should have stuck with him over watson
Obviously…if they want to win. But what’s best for AR? Or is AR not what they thought he was? That’s the highest probability by far if you look at history. Chances are AR ain’t the guy, and a lot of young QBs that are starting or we’re starting aren’t among the top 50 QBs in the league. Nobody wants to pay the older guys like Flacco long term, and they’re all treating the draft, when it comes to QB, like a crapshoot, which it arguably is if you’re trying to find a guy who can be the man now and win right away, on his rookie contract. We used to let guys sit and take time to learn the hardest position in all of sports. We used to be afraid we’d ruin a young QBs career…..like what it looks like the panthers have done to Bryce Young.
There’s only ever about 5-6 great QBs on the whole planet at any given time. And the 2nd tier is so far behind.
It's not that he can't be the guy but not every young is good right away some take years to develop completely. Look at Sam 10 years and he's just starting to become a good qb
@@themaker2149 Are colts fans more concerned about developing one player on the team or for all 52 or so guys winning games? The Colts could make the playoffs this year and I don’t think AR is the QB to get them there. I see the Colts offense struggling this week
People called me crazy for saying flacco didn't suck 6 years ago lol. And pat needs to just admit his team isnt good
let AR sit and learn. Throwing essentially your rookie qb into the fire is how busts happen
Just because you draft a guy number 3 doesn't mean he is going to be the future and doesn't mean they have to play right away.

Joe Flacco is the best QB on the Colts. AR needs to watch and practice this year behind Joe Flacco, maybe they could do some wildcat things in their playbook with Joe Flacco at quarterback and AR and JT on the side, creating lot of confusion for any defense, not knowing if AR is going to be a receiver, are they going to pass it to him and have him rush or pass, is it going to go to JT?
I’m a Packers fan but I don’t understand not starting Richardson. The Colts have zero chance of winning the Super Bowl so let the young guy play and get experience to really judge if you should get a new QB
Alec Pierce had 3 receptions for a 134 in the span of 5 minutes once it was decides for Joe Flacco to throw the ball more than 10 yards... If they wasn't bullshitting AP earlier in the game, he literally could of had 300 receiving yards maybe
Dude is injury prone lol. Never drafting him again
I drafted him in an eternal dynasty league. I also drafted Flacco though hoping he'd get in there
Brah I have Flacco I wish they would start him over AR
Half the league has injuries right now. You just gonna stick to drafting everyone on the bench to ensure they never get hurt?
AR needs to stay in the pocket and only run when absolutely necessary. We should have held onto Minshew. Flacco cant survive being the starter for 12 games
