Easy going personality, high quality filming/production, beautiful surroundings and a call to be present in the moment.
Presence and thinking straight are synonymous with survival in the wilderness.
Thanks for your wisdom and humility.

I think, because of you, the algorithm sent me mountaineering vlogs, which I didn't realise I kind of like. I find you to have big compassion, are always calm vocally and give real good advice. Chur bro, from the west.

I need more knife edge ridges in my life! A couple traverses I'd planned the last two years didn't pan out (Pyramid over Aloha Lake near Tahoe, and Conness near Tuolumne in Yosemite this year). I declare 2024 Year of the Knife. 🔪⛰️
Sitting here on the plane with my UD Fastpack 35 as underseat carry-on. Extreme utility, comfort, and quality for shorter, lighter trips that don't require the big framed 45L.

Love this kind of content. It's been a while since the last time I saw such a classic problem-solving kind of video: the thinking process behind deciding what gear to use, etc. It was a bit anticlimactic because of the ease with which you reached the summit, but then you closed with the last bit of reflexion so that helped. It would be amazing to see/hear a lot more of that thinking process behind other adventures. Thanks for making these videos!!

That ridgeline looks epic! I'd say more of a hike with some high grade scrambling. This style of video was great to see from you.
Sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. Thankfully, I haven't experienced that yet, but knowing how fickle the rock can be, it's never out of the question.
Also, glad to see you guys wearing your helmets! I've seen too many people in RUclips not doing that on more technical terrain. I've had a helmet break my fall (probably 2-3m down and landed on top of my head) as I scraped off a rock that broke off the mountain with me on it. Better to wear and not need than need and not wear.

lovely video of a cracking route - good final points, i find concentrating on scrambles sometimes difficult - you zone out without realizing, especially if the route finding isn't difficult. the one thing that always seems to bring me back is when the scenery gives way - three points of contact or not - that one is always down to luck. atb

Dang! Whoa…the mental game… I have a lot of outdoor experience and am a pilot; yet, heights like these are really scary! I enjoyed so much the way you approached this with safety and enjoyment both…. I recently joined your Momentum program so that I can become more comfortable being on edges…. (Now to check out the breath video 😊). Being a hiker with a fair amount of scrambling experience but almost no climbing knowledge you now have me intrigued quite a bit about practicing the “vertical plane” as you say…. Hmmm…now to look up climbing gyms…. Thanks again for the video-lots to think about 😊 P.S. yes, beautiful limestone!

I like ridges a lot and most of them are at this fine line, where there are always some parts you ask yourself "is it worth the risk". In this respect, it's much better to overestimate things...
    Thanks for the vid.
I could never do such a vid. The time i have when hiking/climbing is only for me and most of the times i tell myself "you should have taken more time, more breaks to enjoy it even more". Thinking on how to put it into a vid while being out - must really be a hobby to be into...

I'm not a climbing expert, but it looks like master point at 8:03 should have one more carabiner and ideally 'third hand' for rappelling rope. Maybe third hand wasn't required in this instance due to length/weight of the rope, but better safe than sorry. Be safe.

Looks beautiful, but that’s a nope for me! If I might need ropes on a hike, I am not even remotely interested, lol. I’ll happily watch from below.
We did some boulder scrambling at Mt Rainier this summer, it wasn’t as steep as this, but it was slow and mentally exhausting.

Great Drone work Brother Man! Awesome Scramble too! Really is mostly a scramble, the rope drag would suck, be real slow, knock off rocks and be hard on the rope as well. If there's much vegetation or resting boulders on the route you can guess it's a scramble, often I'll use the drone to have a look before I commit to an unknown route, can be super helpful! Hopefully you find some of these routes on monster mountains, SO Epic! A Mini drone in a hip pack in a padded water bottle holder can be great for quick deployments! I've been doing lots of canyon scrambling lately myself as winter sets in here in my new desert home near Moab. I wish you were close, I'd show you some amazing things. Please come visit me or the channel and see. You are always welcome for an epic guided Adventure here with me! Cheers
