For the headphone jack option, just bear in mind that it WILL make the Deck's built-in mic array not function until the headphones are unplugged. So for that (especially if you are like me and play games that make audio latency not feasible, recommend some headphones or IEMs that include a built-in boom mic. I'm using the Turtle Beach BattleBuds. Hella-good boom mic, mind you.

I love my Steam Deck. Usually the giddyness of having a new device wears off pretty quick. For some reason not the case with Steam Deck, it manages to blow me away each and every time I game on it.
If you want the Average Joe, get 512gb and be done with it. If you can tinker any bit, get the 64gb. You can upgrade the memory yourself much easier/cheaper and most reviews of the 512gb screen aren't worth enough to justify purchase anyway. Biggest consideration is how you imagine using the Deck after you already have it. Are you a casual or are you invested deeply, with not only your memory, but also your money?
Buy 64gb, as well as a 1TB nvme drive, if u look in the right places the ssd can be around $110, at around $560 u can have a 1TB steam deck so long as u know how to flash steamos onto the ssd and of course self install of the ssd but the results will be worth it, grab a micro 512gb micro sd for emulators and indies and your set bro!
Who said that Starfield requires ssd? It will definitely not fit in the internal 64GB, but I don't see why it can't be installed on a large external SD card.

I never thought about USB C headphones on the deck. I always just use regular ones with a normal AUX Jack.

You can actually swap the sd cards without turning it off.

Starfield struggles to hit 30fps at 1200p on series x 😂😂😂 (they used temporal reconstruction for 4k). No way will it run on the deck.
