NUCLEAR SUBMARINE escorted out of Port Everglades April 4th 2024! | Cruise Ships Live
Haulover Inlet is a man-made inlet located in Miami-Dade County, Florida, USA. It is situated along the Atlantic Ocean coast and connects the Intracoastal Waterway to the Atlantic Ocean. The inlet is an important navigational feature for boats and ships in the area, as it provides access to the open sea from the protected waters of Biscayne Bay and the Intracoastal Waterway.
Haulover Inlet is known for its strong currents and can be challenging to navigate, particularly during periods of rough weather or strong tidal flows. The inlet's name is derived from the historical practice of hauling small boats over the sandbar at this location before the inlet was artificially created to improve access to the ocean.

I did it for over 23 Years, 17 and half years at sea. I would do it again in a heartbeat. I am Proud of my Submarine service. "Submarines Once, Submarines Twice" If you know you know!
That's so awesome congrats on an awesome life ❤
Fast Attacks during the Cold War. Almost the same TOS and Sea Time. Roooga, Roooga...Dive, Dive, Dive!
Retired in 2004, 3 SSNs, 1 Boomer. We made a liberty run to Ft Liquordale in 1980s. What a blast! Been in and out of P-Can numerous times.
Amazing - thanks for your service. I honestly don’t know how you folks do it - great job!
Thanks for your service. My business partner was a submariner. Unique breed.
Not in a million years would I volunteer for this type of service. Hats off to these men.
They're about the safest US navy job and fatalities are extremely rare. Hats off to them for making then keeping it that way.
I would, for the good food onboard.
@@michaelshih8163 good food indeed! Just 60 cycle sunlight for several weeks!
It certainly isn't for everyone. And that speaks volumes to ANY of our armed service branches. They are a cut above when it comes to serving and dying for their nation. God willing they all stay safe and out of any major conflict. Although with the way the world is headed right now. I'm afraid the inevitable will happen sooner than we may all expect.
I am with you richardb. I have a pretty solid case of claustrophobia and to be in a sub with no hope of seeing the outside I'd probably go nutty. God Bless all U.S. Navy submariners. They deserve all the great food provided on these boats.
Haulover
Pass is the calmest that You have ever filmed before.
USS Delaware (SSN 791) Virginia-class Block III nuclear attack submarine
I’ve never seen a cruise ship without any windows.
The Titan didn't have any windows either.
That's a Freedom boat right there. Stealth Service.
Thank you for always supporting Sweden, without you Putin took us, thanks USA we love you 🇸🇪🇸🇪🇸🇪
thank you to all of our service men and women god bless you all and keep you safe
The silent service you never know were they are God Bless them
Oh does this bring back great and fond memories. I served as an independent duty hospital corpsman on a fast attack out of Palm Harbor. Of course, you only tend to remember the good times, but I loved it and would go back out in a heartbeat. Thanks so much for the video... it brought a tear to my wife's eyes! GO NAVY... Be safe guys!
That's amazing. Thank you for your service.
I served on these boats for years. Stay safe boys!
Thank you. Honestly, what used to be a common calling amongst young men has become a seldom selfless act very few bother to even consider. You're one of the few and it means a lot to me. Many others as well, I'm sure, just an aging crowd.
Isn’t it illegal to record a submarine leaving port ?
@@ayotee3321 No. It's in a public waterway.
safe travels
Old boat sailor... diesel boats forever. USS Tang. SS-563
Oh yeah... diesel boat sailors are the real submariners!
My Uncle Served in the Pacific WW2 on boats...
My son served 6 years as a member of the "Blue Crew" aboard the USS Alabama SSBN-731. I takes a special sailor to operate these vessels. Solid nerve and character are the requirement. I was very impressed by the boat and crew.
Wow I never got to see this, from OUTSIDE the boat! We loved Ft Lauderdale / Port Everglades for a port call. There was a small bar right next to the pier, and the facility had 900 amps of shore power! Everybody got liberty, even the Nukes.!
Pulled in on a DD and a CVN, good time
That was awesome video!!! God bless the Crew a safe journey
21 years of Sub duty, Retired in 2010
Good on you... and thanks for your service.
Clear the bridge, dive. Dive. Dive…
That's cool!!! thanks for sharing. Not something you see everyday
"Voyage to the bottom of the sea" is all i can think of right now😂
Thank you for your service
Taking care of that hatch seal.
God bless the US Navy.
Wonderful footage!!!
Looking very nice!!😊😊
Coolest thing to see,the last time i saw one was in the late nineties doing a Humavac, somewhere in an island near the International Dateline.
It is really cool witnessing this live.
Indeed! It's not always you see a nuclear submarine
I spent 4 years on one
@@CasualLark As it should be.
🇺🇸 right there should be why we all stand for AMERICA… thank you to all those serving and that have served! That is why we HAVE freedom.. it’s being stripped from us when so many died that we may be free. ❤❤❤ Our HEROS
be safe
i see this or another sub going north and south near the world famous Dania Beach Pier often during the year
I've never heard the 'Pier referred to in that term, before. 🤔
These folks @long with all military members are the worlds best, I don’t give a crap what biden said about being #2
Good sound, from enjine
That is bad ass man. Thanks for the awesome footage. Would have loved to see it descend below the water.
Why is the sub so small? The Belgorod is like twice as big.
Thank you for your service. God Bless the USA and God Bless the Marines, Navy, Army, Air Forces and National Guard.
And... Coast Guard and Space Force.
@@Valkyrie11609 Yes of course, My family served in all the above that I mentioned. Thank You Military Service. 🇺🇸❤️🤍💙🇺🇸
Off ya go...where?....nobody knows.
Do they have civilian pilots on board? Do they have to sign an oath of secrecy?
No, because there's nothing secret on the maneuvering bridge.
😎🇺🇸🏴☠️🧜Godspeed & God Bless The United States Navy
Seawolf Class, or Virginia?
@jasonrichards5854 I tried to reply, but it kept taking me to the top of the page. It's a Virginia class. The quickest way I can tell is by the running lights on the side of the sail. Virginia class stick out. Seawolf class are behind plexiglass and flush with the rest of the sail.
Very nice to watch. I'm sure the American navy knows it's doing, but I'd like to know a bit more about the radar rotating right in front of two crewmen on top of the conning tower. Is it actually emitting, and if so, how are the two men protected ?
It is blocked in the part of the sweep where it points at the other masts - and the people. All radars are capable of this.
@@robreeve Thanks for that.
Been there. Done that, on a US submarine.
First Sub I was on,1971-Key West,Fl Sub. Base,,SST-2 USS Marlin>>at the Naval Museum at Freedom Park,Omaha,Nebraska.
With people standing on it for perspective, it seems smaller than I expected.
looked like it was starting to submerge at the very end with all the air bubbles surrounding it.
Look what we have done to Florida
Hi
I took a tour on one when i was in the Navy. There is not much room in those things. Takes special people to be on those. 100 men go down 50 couples come up lol.
49, there’s always 1 fighting…
@@alittlefunYeah. I forgot about that lol.
Ah yes. The tip of the spear. USN
Father career Navy, half of it on diesel/electric subs., after spending many years of my life in terrible Navy housing, poor medical facilities, dirty bases, and very seldom seeing my father I did the smart thing and joined the Air Force, after Vietnam it was like a regular job, great housing, great medical facilities and home every night with the wife.
Okay, this is terrifying to me. It brings me the phobia type of deep fear that I get when I'm on top of a 40 floor building.
Looks pretty menacing.
The stories we could tell about serving on boats...Unless you served on one wouldn't and couldn't understand...
What in the world is this Sub doing in Port Everglades? There are no naval facilities there that I am aware of.
Right at the entrance to the port is a US Navy 'research lab' inside the park along with the US Coast Guard station. That was the buildings in the background on the other side of the channel
So they can't do port calls?
@@mattz1230 You're an idiott...
@@mattz1230 You're a Maroon.
@@ironman0917 You said the dumb thing.
They can do port calls, just like any other ship.
My observation is how little of a wake it makes. Massive machine that can be so stealth.
My Late Father in-law served on the old diesel subs. Loved to hear his stories. Retired out of Key West
Two sailors standing behind the rotating radar transmitter getting a full dose of radiation rays !!
They have special broad band radar and don't care about it spinning right in their faces?
No but they have no hair left.
Dorkface. It's blocked from transmitting during the part of the sweep where it points at the other masts - and the people. All radars do this.
That's just a standard nav radar like you'd find on a small fishing boat
You know that a modern radar can block transmitting on certain sectors at certain times?
Secret service I respect them immensely- thk you for your service
Learned something new, apparently Attack Subs take on pilots to traverse port. You can see him leave the boat and get onto the pilot boat about mid video. crazy.
Pilots have local knowledge about depths, dangers, interfacing with civilian shipping, and port requirements, that submarine crew would appreciate, and cannot be expected to know, so not surprising at all.
It’s generally required for all large vessels
All large ships take on a pilot. It's required. That boat is 450 odd ft long and about 8500 tons.
10 year in the U.S Navy you don’t know that you will miss it till you’re out for a year or two . Then you wonder what you were thinking about to get out . I would definitely do it again and again and again.
That was a small “Sail Away” party on deck, and likely without champagne. 🤷♂️🎉
So cool, thank you for sharing this. I missed it on live.
The President will ask in "times" of concern
Tell me where the carriers are and just tell me the subs are in position and ready
What is long, hot and full of seamen?
I never expected the hatch to close so slowly.
Just imagine the fire power on the vessel. Crazy.
I was waiting for the flag to be taken down ...!
They're not diving yet.
Dudes on top tower getting gamma rays to the face!
They need to do something about out the ants on deck.
The Cooper River in Charleston S.C. Is tougher in and out. I was Manuvering Watch Helmsman on an east coast 637 class boat. With a good team of lookouts, quartermasters, nav techs, sonormen, Officer of the Deck topside, you can make it look easy. Getting into the Island of Bermuda was the toughest in and out.
We got so good, I would listen to the tracking party calculate our position to center of path and make minor course corrections before they had to tell the bridge we were too far off center and then the O.O.D. of course ordered me right or left. F. That the plot station was right next to me, pop off the headset on that side and stay ahead of the wind and currents.
Sure miss being on a boat sometimes.
I worked at the Charleston Naval Shipyard for 10 years before they shut it down.
Dolphins Away!
American Power
God Bless
Subs use a port pilot???
Of course. Why wouldn't they?
@@mattz1230super classified propulsion system, for one.
@@tfdtfdtfd They're not going down to the engine room.
And even that isn't classified. You don't know anything about this, do you?
@@mattz1230Unfortunately I can't tell you how much I know about this
@@tfdtfdtfd Then perhaps you shouldn't comment on it?
Great video excellent quality
As usual.. Navy apparently overstayed their welcome... :D
Yep... 😂 ... Only because we ran out of money to spend! 😂
Aren't they normally escorted with several military vessels?
No. Why would they?
@@mattz1230 Because they are completely susceptible and vulnerable to attack when they are on the surface moving in and out of ports.
