The first tip would be to buy a station wagon ;) However, I would recommend everyone to buy a trailer coupling with a bike rack. Then you don't have the dirty bike in the car and mess everything up. And you don't always have to take everything apart.
Wouldn't dream of transporting mine any other way in the winter! Quite happy to take wheel off and chuck a tarp down rather than getting the bike covered in salt once the gritters are out!
Also got a Fiesta. Moving the front seat forward is giving me enough room to put the bike in by only removing the front wheel. In and out of the car within 2 minutes. Once had someone came up to me asking how the F I got that massive ebike out of my Fiesta.
I think doing this whole disassembly several time would motivate most people to get a bike rack. There's nothing easier than taking your bike putting on the rack and hopping in the car. Trailer hitch racks are really nice and convenient.
Yea, if you travel with bikes a lot it's worth it getting a good bike rack! Some people will always prefer to keep the bike inside the car, for security reasons etc...
Using bike racks means people can see that you have an ebike, and that you're gonna be out of the house too....also you can't really go in a shop or something if you are on your own.
Only been an ebike owner for 2 weeks and I've just ordered a detachable towbar and bike carrier. Taking off the wheel and trying to get it in on my own has been a challenge to say the least
Taking off the wheels is easy if you flip the bike over like in this video. I would love a towbar kit, but they are silly money. I only need to transport my bike occasionally, so this costs nothing. I haven't tried it yet on my eMTB, but I have the exact same car as his, so should be good to go!
I put a large piece of cardboard from a box on the floor with the seats down. Then I put a towel over the entrance to the trunk. Then I place part of the bike on the cardboard and slide it forward until it is in the car. Easier than lifting and dragging it! I just pop off the front wheel and put it in. still takes some strength to lift it though!
Check with your insurance company if your e bike is covered if you use a rear mounted bike rack or tow bar mounted rack, this may be treated as a modification if you require electrics for additional lights or vehicle plates. it will be an expensive day if you are rear-ended in a car accident and wipe out your bike. Some insurance will only cover the content inside of a vehicle in a theft as well.
I fitted recently a mans mountain bike , with rack and panniers , into a fiesta , like the one in the video , I removed the battery and front wheel only, was a piece of cake , I was very surprised , just dropping the back seats , cheers shane uk 🇬🇧
I got fed up of trying to get my Levo in the back of a Golf, front wheel had to come off but still tight fit and even with a bit of tarp down mud still managed to get everywhere! As I have some roof bars I’ve been looking for a rack and was between a Yakima Highspeed and Pendle Ergorack, went with the Pendle as rates up to 23 KG and my bike is 21.5KG, look them up pretty good rack.
Even in a Corsa. I’m literally going to find out whether I can fit my bike in mine tomorrow. I’m not taking bloody pedals off though and derailleur though 😂😂😂
Get yourselves a rear rack. I put one on my tiny Ford Ka mk1, and it works perfectly. I just have to unmount the wheels, and tie up a few straps. You don't want to be stripping down your bike when you are totally exhausted, wet, muddy, and sweaty.
@@darthkek1953 Absolutely; for just one wheel it's not worth it. But the rack is something to consider if you have back problems, too. Much more forgiving on your back lifting up a bike vertically, rather than having to push/pull it in trunk.
It would. I don’t own my car because lack of space and the city regulations so I’m using mostly car sharing and if you don’t wanna carry a bike rack until your sharing car this would be a good option
buy a 2005 yaris verso. costs less than your e bike and you'll fit the bike fully assembled in the back. OR with only removing front wheel you'd get 4 bikes in the back. Thats my tip for uk. I'd never have the hassle of stripping a bike as much as this video just to put it in a car!, that's how much i strip a bike to put in on a plane! But really a bike rack would be the way to go if you did have a fiesta or something too small to fit the bike in and good locks. For north america get a north short rack on your tow hitch. Shame uk cars don't come with received hitches instead of tow balls.
J'ai toujours transporté mon E-Bike dans ma voiture 3 portes. Je démonté seulement la batterie et les 2 roues. Je garde le guidon, et je tourne ma fourche à 90°, à plat. C'est top.
Battery angle grinder, cut the bike up into no more than 200mm long pieces , place all bits into a bin bag, bobs your uncle. And you only have to do it once as the bike will now fit in any car including smart cars, bubble cars, caterham 7's etc.
Honestly, you don't need to go to this extreme. I have a Scott eRIDE 930 (large) which I can fit in my 2000 Toyota Vitz by just removing the wheels. I also include all the bike gear and work stand.
Hi, How to transport an ebike on a motorcycle? I think to turn the ebike upside down. The handlebars should be rigidly fastened to the luggage rack and the rear wheel should roll on the road. Can I do better?
In reality simply taking the wheels off the bike will get most bikes into the back seat/trunk of a car. I have more than one occasion put two bikes in the backseat of a Chevy Cobalt by putting the seats down and taking all the wheels off.
I used to travel a couple of hours every weekend to go riding with my bike in the back of a hatchback. Then one weekend I visited my parents, no bike. Through no fault of my own I was rear-ended on the M54 and the car destroyed. If my bike was in the car like that I’ve have been dead (bike would have been pushed through my seat). Do yourself a favour and buy a bike rack. Also saves getting car dirty
I have two short bits of pool noodle that slip over the grips and elevate the bars enough to protect everything up front. Do you have pool noodles in the UK ? Probably not lol. Its round soft foam section , about 8cm diameter with a 3cm hole down the middle.
Why to much work if you just lower the back of your passenger all the way back if your car allows that simply remove the from wheel and should fit nicely
I'm glad I don't live in a country in which it's illegal to transport the bike with the battery. Politicians have too much time to create useless laws.
It literally seems easier to just buy a bigger car. It might even take less time to take on a gig job to earn some extra money to buy the larger car/SUV/Van than it took to strip the bike, reassemble it at the trail, strip it down again, and reassemble it at home again.
Do you have any bike storage/transport tips? 👇
Top tip, buy a van 😁
Buy a caddy
How to fit e-bike into any car?
Just disassemble the entire thing! Perfect!
The first tip would be to buy a station wagon ;)
However, I would recommend everyone to buy a trailer coupling with a bike rack.
Then you don't have the dirty bike in the car and mess everything up. And you don't always have to take everything apart.
Well, another idea is to take a portable pressure-wash and hose your bike down after trail.
🤣🤣

If you haven't any pad spacers, a lolly stick works great. I've been using that "hack" since reading it in MBR magazine in the '90s!
Happy trails 🚲🙂

@@danmorrison667 they make locking cables for bike racks. I have used trailer hitch racks for 20+ years and have had no issues.

I carry a brake spatula in my tool bag and push the pads in before wheel install.
Them handle bars look very sick!

Always go tail end first, drive train up!! Very important.
Only removing the front wheel always worked more than fine for me and my cars... i managed to stuff a turbo levo basically anywhere :D
It works for me too

So basically, the tip, is to fully disassemble the bike? Cheers for that!

Interesting video 😁, but don't forget to lock your bike to the bike rack - you may need to stop somewhere on route.
Quality product.

I used to pack my bike into a smart for two. wheels went in the back and the frame went in the passenger seat. Easy.
Our emb foldable bike takes less than 30 secs to unfold and fold. And we can fit 2 of them folded in our small hatchback.

thanks very informative.
This is crazy, it will take just as long to load and unload your bike as the ride ?
I literally have the exact same car, I’ve fit 2 full bikes inside it
Same here, 2 MTB's just with the front wheels off in my Fiesta.

"in any car" he said, love to see fit a e bike in a Smart ForTwo 😅🤣🤣😂😂😂
Illegal to carry bike with battery in the bike? How can government be so ridiculous?
Get 2 wooden blocks and once upside down rest each side of the handelbars on to the blocks and then it wont scratch the ebike display / bike computer.
I've just bought some handlebar jack's for this purpose

thats brilliant. I will do that@@Tony_P
Nice......thnxs
I can get my large Whyte mtb into my Honda Jazz with just the front wheel removed and a tarp for protection
I get mine in the back of a Hyundai I10!
WOW! A 2 minute video in 12 minutes, they waffle on like Fish Wife,s this lot.
Lmafo if you have to do all that to transport your bike you probably can’t afford to buy and ride an EMTB ….take the whole bike apart 😂😂
So basically nearly a full rebuild once you get to the trail 😂
Saris bones rack, 5 minutes and your off 😌😌😌 no need to take anything apart, specially pedals 😵💫
Failed number plate camo
Why to much work if you just lower the back of your passenger all the way back if your car allows that simply remove the from wheel and should fit nicely
Get a truck diaper. Truck can hold 2000lbs so 5 emtb no problem
It would be quicker to ride there 🤣
2 bikes, 1 car
Best option is not to have a car then you don't need to take your bike apart at all simple..
or you could get a folding e-bike
You nearly have to rebuild your bike then
😂🤔😂
I'm glad I don't live in a country in which it's illegal to transport the bike with the battery. Politicians have too much time to create useless laws.
The EU rules do not apply to private transport.
great fun what a joke.
Totally impractical after a muddy ride. Rather be a roadie than all this faff

By the time you do all this just buy a bigger car. 👌
Seriously, who owns a Specialized full suspension ebike, and drives an old Ford Fiesta? The bike itself is more valuable than this car.
More boring content,
