Unpopular opinion but I think Slim Ryan Taylor was fight of the year. The history, the trash talk, the rivalry. The CHIN ON RYAN TAYLOR. Was a blood battle, and Slim got his revenge and everyone got entertained.

The Deen vs walid fight had too much controversy surrounding the stoppage to be fight of the year imo. Gib vs Austin had way more riding on it in terms of trash talk, the build up, the story line, and the early knockdown gib battled through
agree. and Gib put everything on the line, basically if he didnt get a straight up KO on austin, then it would be rigged like they did his last fight with taylor. He risked it all for that revenge and it paid off.

To be honest since Jake kind of ended the debate of whether or not he is a step above all or not by winning against Silva he would be my pick.
With all that's been going on he really put himself on another level and I couldn't argue for any of the other guys on the list to beat him.

Fighter of the year is def a close race of gib and slim, maybe slim just cause hes been more active, but KO of the year imo is slim vs temperr just cause it was a 2 week notice and he wasnt expected to do that to an experienced fighter

When my 8 yr old girl did the salt papi face with no involvement on my part, I was surprised she even knew of him.
Salt Papi got the first award
Breakout Fighter of the Year: Slim Albaher for finally making a name for himself in mainstream YT Boxing, or Salt Papi for how quickly he gained a following after out-classing all of his opponents.
Upset of the Year: Slim Albaher KOing Tommy. Nobody expected Slim to knock Tommy out on 2-weeks' notice. Also Alex Wassabi beating Deji, for nobody expected Alex to actually look decent and out-class a highly experienced Deji.
Knockout of the Year: AnesonGib over Austin McBroom. Despite being dropped early, Gib continuously made Austin miss and made him pay with perfectly timed counterpunches and beautiful defense-to-offense transitions. Nobody expected Gib to flat out hospitalize McBroom. By far the most skillful and most brutal KO in YT Boxing.
Fail of the Year: Tommy getting robbed a clear victory over Kenny for how obvious it was, or KSI vs Pineda for how underwhelming it was.
Event of the Year: Misfits 001 for how special it was for fighters like JJ, Deji, Slim and Salt Papi, plus the doors it opened for all YT/Influencer Boxers. Also Creator Clash for how it was packed with excitement from start to finish and how it was surprisingly professionally run.
Fight of the Year: DeenTheGreat vs Walid Sharkz for how that fight blurred the lines between YT Boxing and Pro-Boxing with very technical fighting and a stunning comeback finish. Also AnesonGib vs Austin McBroom for how much of a rollercoaster Gib's comeback was, added with Austin's warrior-like mentality of refusing to stay down.
Fighter of the Year: Slim Albaher because of his shocking KO over Tommy, his high activity and his phenomenal performances throughout the year, or Jake Paul for OUTBOXING Anderson Silva and continuing to show that he's way more skillful than all of the guys in YT Boxing.

The Fail of the Year has to be the McBroom and Gib event ticket sales. Banc of California holds like 21,000 people for soccer/football matches add a few more thousands of seats on the field. In the end, they sold like 2k. 😬
They actually sold 200 but gave away 1000 to make the crowd even bigger💀

The fight of the year is definitely jake vs Anderson no doubt. none of the fights even went 8 rounds and the fight was so 50-50 and intense. jake vs Anderson is arguably the best fight in RUclips boxing
I'm Honestly shocked that neither of them said Creator Clash was event of the year. That was by far best event in influencer boxing history
It was a close one. Because it was all for charity, and the fighters didn’t do it for the money, I’d probably give it to creator clash. But Misfits 01 was a ton of fun

It was easily the most skillful fight of the influencer scene
greg hardy beating hasim rahman jr was fs top 2 for upsets of the year considering the disparity in boxing experience and how he'd been completely written off by most people in the lead-up. also, deenthegreat was a betting favorite going into his fight, but great comeback nonetheless.
Salt Papi hasn't had any real competition like Slim, no way can you call him a break out star yet.

I have to give the fighter of the year to Jake Paul, yea he had just 1 fight, but it was against a person that everyone said he would lose to like an year ago, he also faced adversity, Silva put it on him, Jake outboxed him and dropped him, no other crossover boxer that isnt like Hasim etc beats Silva currently

Really disappointed to see that hasim rahman jr vs Greg hardy wasn’t even nominated, that was my personal fight of the year and I really like hasim and wanted him to win but what a display of heart from hasim and what a showcase of skill from Greg, loved the vid and the picks, really good work from you guys this year and can’t wait for more👍

Deji vs Fousey should be fight of the year.. nobody has a better story than him, 0-3 vs a guy that changed his life around. The entire arena was there for that fight for sure obviously ksi too but it was more uncertainty with the Deji vs Fousey abd for Deji to dominate that entire fight and finally get a win and social media went crazy over this one
For "Breakout Fighter" or "Fighter of the Year", I'd put either Deji or Slim in any of those categories.
Deji lost to Alex, but came back and beat Fousey and got his first win. He then went on to fight Mayweather, and even though the fight wasn't all that great, he was still able to catch Floyd and give him a bruise on his eye.
For Slim, he fought Temper on 2 weeks notice and was still able to get the job done. Prior to that, people didn't really think Slim was that great of a boxer especially looking at the people he previously fought.
Both these guys definitely fit into either categories in my opinion.
Delusional. Deji beat the worst boxer that's had multiple fights. Floyd toyed with him and Deji didn't look good at all. Floyd wasn't even going at 50%. Slim yh I agree with.

He went from losing constantly, to then getting his first win, to then having an opportunity to get in the ring with the best boxer in the world. It’s all about the journey, not the skill of the people he fights. That’s a breakout boxer.
@@MegaShadowYT I get that. But dude lost 3 times when he was the favourite and then beat the worst boxer and then suddenly people praise him. I'll give him props for not quitting bc that must have been hard af for him to deal with at the time of the losses. But he ain't no fighter of the year or breakout fighter. That goes to someone who's been dominating, or at least is winning their fights. If there was an award for most improved, or something similar that would more accurately describe his time in the ring then I'd fully support him getting that award. But fighter of the year has to go to the best boxer.
