I drafted this set last friday at my LGS. I ended up in simic. Pick 1 pack 1 for me was Birds of Paradise so I was already pumped as I don't have one yet. (Only started play mtg about a year ago.) My strategy was kind of a mix of the 2 archetypes you laid out in your video. I had blue for counter magic and a bit of card draw but I actually ended up picking up a 2nd copy of Birds of Paradise the fullart one and also having access to utopia sprawl and open the gates i always had ramp to the bigger payoffs like overwhelm, and siege wurm. I ended up winning 2 of my 3 matches which is was very happy with as it was my 1st draft night I've ever attended. I had a bunch of fun and i will definitely be going to more.
Posting this after getting a chance to do a $20 draft of this set at my lgs today and literally watched this on the way there since I had no real idea how the set functioned. Typically I try some hairbrained concoction and end up pretty frustrated, but this time I stuck to your guide, put together a consistent, low to the ground Rakdos deck, and just had the most fun I've ever had at a draft going 2-1(I'm usually lucky to get a win). Suffice to say - thus video was absolutely perfect, even months after its release. Thanks for again fir all that you do, man (Who knew I'd have so much fun playing a color combo I typically hate and avoid! 😄)
quick (definitaly not meme) tip: When drafting persistant petitioner it might be worthwhile to also draft orzhov as that guild has quite a few extra advisors

Drafts around me are running about $30. I might wait and pick up a box down the line to draft with friends but right now, I don't want to pay that to get ran over by Boros or Rakdos on turn 3-4.
If my household hadn’t literally banned me from buying more boosters, I’d be drafting Ravnica Remastered. …of course we also have a Khans draft to get through, two drafts of New Capenna, the Mystery Boosters box, the chaos draft made from our previous drafts… …okay, I might see their point.

Right now on TCG Player its going for $165. Still too much. I think the max id pay for is $110. Dominaria Remastered is being sold for $93 and has some fantastic rares to chase.@@TolarianCommunityCollege
71 rares, 10 of which are shocklands. This means that on average, a draft box should have 5 shocklands. The 5 shockland challenge seems reasonable with this set.
Guilds of Ravnica was my first Draft set and gateway to MTG, so it's like a circle that the set boosters end with Ravnica. Sadly I'm not gonna draft this. Drafts had been dried out in my area. No LGS that I'm happy to go to, no friends that are into drafting, and economy doesn't help either. I wish to return to drafts one day, but I need to find the right community for that.
What a BAD set of reprints. The way they are messing with rarities is TELLING. They care more about perceived value than they do about the game itself. They lean on the "limited balance" argument but if they actually cared about formats outside of EDH they'd be doing so much more than rarity shifts like this. Also, when everything is "special" nothing is "special".
Went to my lgs after watching this twice and was super ready for a petitioners deck to fail beautifully, or try for gruul or five colour good stuff, but only one person showed up for the store's draft, and they had even already left.
I did a draft of this on Friday and had a blast with a 4 color extort deck. Helped that I got 3 shocklands between the draft and the prize packs. Looking forward to more drafts of the set, so far every remastered set has knocked it out of the park in terms of likited environments.
I just had the best draft experience with this set. 15 dollar entry. Person who passed the 2nd pack didn't notice they had cyclonic rift. Got it. Drafted two lands worth 10. Then one Phoenix anime worth 8 dollars. Won the tournament and got 3 packs. Opened the packs and pulled a 5 dollar card and a 25 dollar demon card which was an anime borderless version. So happy.

Actually, RVR is just like DMR with retro frame rares - it doesn't add an extra rare to the pack, it replaces the normal rare and puts an extra common into the pack. Very sad that this is apparently becoming the norm, rather than how TSR did it where the retro and rare are just always there
I found this very helpful! I’ve only done one draft (Ixalan pre release). I had fun, but had no idea what I was doing. Gonna watch this a few more times to make sure I I don’t blank out at draft on Friday!

I HAVE NOT THE OPPORTUNITY TO DRAFT RAVNICA REMASTERED! 4 years ago I could do draft events for 12€, to a max of 15€ in the greediest LGS. Now, a draft event of ravnica remastered cost 35€. It's absurd. And here Ravnica draft boxes sell for 160€. Do your own calculation. Sadly also the prices for tournaments grew, from 5€ to 10€ to 12€ to partecipate to FNMs. It has been almost 4-5 Months that in one of the major city in Europe any kind of event struggle to start. I hate Wizard, I hate Hasbro, and I hate LGS. They practically killed Magic. Now you either play commander, play magic arena, or you are rich enough to travel to big event. Kids don't play anymore, because guess what: 12€ can be spared, 25€ not.
I appreciate you showing us the Ravnica Remastered drafting. Our group will not buy this overpriced product unless there is an Amazon dump. This is just like the overpriced Dominaria Remastered reprint set. We will wait awhile to buy singles though we have a lot of the original cards from the Ravnica block. I have already drafted from each of these Ravnica sets. This remaster is not only too soon, but overpriced, & there's nothing interesting about it.

Curious what you consider a reasonable amount. Given a Standard draft box such as Lost Caverns is usually about $110 (USD), what would you consider a reasonable amount for Ravnica Remastered.

As a Olive branch to players for all good will an bridges WOTC/Hasbro has done lately. Not to mention nod at hardships of inflation.
Take this video with a handful of salt. A lot of the recommendations in this video are unlikely to hold up to actual gameplay, similar to the ONE draft guide.
It'd be nice if there were chapters in videos like this. Also could've saved me a bunch of time if iy was mentioned bruvac and his backup dancers was an archetype I could go for.
Looking forward to drafting this set. Probably going to keep a few packs just to hold as the last draft packs. Also looking forward to the Behind the Campus video that I'm sure will be great and fun to watch.
Good video. I think of myself as a pretty experienced player and halfway decent drafter, but there are things I wouldn't have thought of before, like specifically waiting on the selesnya and boros signets since they're more likely than the others to get passed. Thanks!

Shocklands don't appear in the rare slot. They're in the mana slot. There should be 3-4 per box.

WotC asks like they LOVE arena but they barely pay attention to it. Every set should be draftable on arena.
They act like they LOVE standard as a format because they print so many sets for it, yet they don't do anything to make it popular again.

I love Bruvac he is so fun if you like to mill. He is also an advisor so keep that in mind when you do Persistent Petitioners second ability.
