    Anim Curves can make your transitions fly... No kidding.
    We are also aware that the audio on this video isn't as good as usual because of a minor technical issue. We hope that you will still enjoy it.

    Awesome tips, I didn’t know about AnimCurves but they seem to make this much easier than sometimes struggling with keyframes and easing. Thank you!

    Superb tutorial, I’ve subscribed and enjoyed your content delivery; so relaxed and very clear.
    I would like to learn how I can automatically make a text number increase by one on certain parts of a video. At the moment I use markers and after effects expressions. I’d like to keep it all in resolve though, is this possible for fusion/expressions? Thanks! :)

    • @CoreAndBlue
      @CoreAndBlue  2 года назад +1

      Hey, first thank you very much for those nice words! Very appreciated.
      About your question, not sure what do you have in mind but depending on what you want to achieve, there should be different ways to make it work in a Fusion comp. On the top of my head, you could go full script using "GetMarkers()" which creates a dict containing each marker's frameId + it's data like name, color, etc... that you could then use or you can get creative with the "time" variable as this is returning the current frame number and can be used in a formula inside an expression.
      It should be a bit of work, but this is doable.

      @@CoreAndBlue hey, thanks for actually being a content creator that returns answers to comments, very much appreciated!
      I will give that a go, I was struggling to find info on where to get the marker data from. At the moment, I export markers that denote a kill on my gameplay, and import them into audition, export wav file to import the markers into After Effects which I can then expression code to create my kill counts. I count up to the thousands so titles and texts are just way to long to edit.
      Hopefully I can figure it out to avoid having to use anything but DR. Thanks for your time, stay safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

    Just awesome, very well explained and the technic is very elegant.
    I have a little trubble, i Can not use the template as a transition ( fusion do not let me drag the template between two clips) but i Can only as an "adjusment clip" (and anim curves works very well ♥️). On the macro i have well check the forground et background params of our input node. More if i use it in the template page, and go on the fusion page of the template the group of nodes Can well have the two inputs.

      Before anything, make sure that you have enough frames trimmed at the end and beginning of your clips so the transition can overlap. The length of the transition depends of how many frames have been trimmed.

      @@CoreAndBlue Thank you so much for always responding to comments! :D
      I'm not sure if I understood the answer correctly, but it leaves me with the impression that I may be trying to do something that isn't possible? On my edit page I have two images that last 5 seconds on the same video track. I can drag a pre-existing video transition effect such as Cross Iris, Push ... that will overlap on both clips. But on the same configuration I can't drag Side&Swipe to overlap the both clip, i can overlap only one clip.

    • @CoreAndBlue
      @CoreAndBlue  2 года назад +1

      Always happy to help. Let's find a way to make it work! 😉.
      It is really important to make the distinction between still images, video clips and compound clips as this will affect if transitions will work or not.
      Imported images are not a problem as DaVinci Resolve can dynamically build extra frames (A still image has only one frame) to cover the length of the transition. Video clips have a first and a last frame over which the transition cannot overlap without trimming enough frames. And then, if you create a compound clip or use the render in place feature, the transition won't be able to overlap until you trim the compound or render clip itself.
      Now, if a transition works while another doesn't, it is because they internally overlap over a different number of trimmed frames and our transition is a little more technical than most of the built-in ones.
      If the transition only nests at one side of a clip, it is because you didn't trim enough frames at the end of the first clip, at the start of the second or both.

      @@CoreAndBlue thanks again ! :D Ok I think I understand what you want to teach me, for clips I need more images than in the timeline because logicallly the clips need more images to be visible before/after its timeline start/end because of the transition. But for my case it is indeed still images (i drag directly two .png from my explorer in the timeline and not convert them as compound clip) so if I have well understood, I can not be in lack of frames in this case and it is an other problem ?

    Thank you for this! I am trying to add my logo to this. I am using a loader node for the image, then transform node, then merge node connected to the output node. I made the xTransfer control for the Transform node. I create the expression for Center (Point(xTranform, 0.5). then go to xTransform, right click and modify with > Anim Curves. I go to modifiers and try to move the logo image (with the transform node highlighted) and nothing happens. No movement. I've tried this multiple times in many different ways but I can't get the logo image to move. I can do this just fine if I'm recreating the transition from this video but can't get a loader node with a png file to move when trying to get my logo to move. Thank you for any help you have the time to give me!

      @@CoreAndBlue Oui merci j'ai vu entre temps. J'ai effectivement un 2° écran et bientôt un 3°. Je suis monteur / étalonneur (sur Resolve 12.5 depuis fin 2016) et ai switché de premiere à Resolve il y a quelques temps. Resolve est tellement plus pratique je trouve. L'intégration de fusion est juste énorme de la part de BMD. Je me met à fusion et ce n'est pas évident quand on vient d'after. Le système nodal ça fait peur au début je reconnais. Mais quel logiciel franchement !!! Merci pour les tutos et surtout pour les sous-titres français à chaque fois. J'imagine que vous les faites en anglais pour toucher plus monde c'est ça? Donc là c'est fait je viens de m'abonner à votre chaîne et j'ai activé la cloche pour ne rien rater. J'essaye de lire le manuel mais en anglais c'est difficile pour moi. Je vais bosser mon anglais et ferais des efforts pour mettre des commentaires en anglais pour coller à l'esprit de la chaîne. Merci encore. J'attends avec impatience les prochains tutos. J'irais voir votre site aussi. Bonne continuation...

      Merci beaucoup pour le sub! C'est super apprécié. Nous avons choisi de produire le contenu de notre chaine en Anglais non seulement pour qu'elle soit accessible à un large public, mais aussi parce que malgré mon accent très présent, nous parlons principalement Anglais entre nous. 😀
      Tout à fait d'accord, changer de software peut être très déroutant et il faut du temps et de la patience pour prendre ses marques. Une fois le concept de système nodal bien assimilé, Fusion devient par contre très logique. Nous avons d'ailleurs une serie de videos actuellement en production dédiée à la pratique des fondamentaux de Fusion au travers de la création de projets complets.
