I love manga so seeing the High Republic went down this road I picked it up immediately! I actually enjoy the stories and will pick up the manga from phase 2!

I’m not much of a comics or manga reader so these haven’t been on my radar much, but I might pick them up sometime. Definitely agree on the price thing. Actually, that’s most of the reason I’ve been put off from picking up products like this… just seems a bit overpriced for what you get. Maybe if I find them used or something I’ll pick them up

Normal manga volumes are 9.99 and have about 200 pages so they are definitely over charging for the brand.

Can buy used copy or read digitally much cheaper. IMO this is the best storytelling in the high republic, rather than ponderous aimless books like Light of the Jedi. When all the kids books cost me $20, and new adult novels cost me $30, price is fine. If looking for value, use the library or buy everything used or mass market.

That’s a good point, but as a collector, my rule is to buy every book I read, and when the book can be read in 1 hour it’s hard to justify, and while the hardcovers are expensive, but you get 5-10+ hours of story and are more worth the price point.

@@jonathankoan agreed, should be $7-8 for a manga volume typically, so they are overcharging.
As an aside, wondering if you are reading the star wars comics?? It is some of the best star wars storytelling under Disney, with great art and cool new characters like Dr Aphra. Marvel Unlimited has everything on app both canon and Legends, which is how I read it. Can collect omnibus and collected editions if want physical, though will run you hundreds of dollars.
