True, we only hear of the black farmers that failed, and those were not even farmers, they were just politically connected lazy people that are painted all African people in a bad light. Whenever I see such African men, I feel proud.

What happened to the Ankole's? This guy bought a cow at Ramaphosa's auction for R1,8m in 2021. Why is he only talking about Boran's and not including the Ankole's? And why can he not afford to buy a farm but he can afford to buy two cow's for almost R10m?

Boran cow is a pure local african breed originated from the borana plateau northern kenya and southern ethiopia.the boran breed after the introduction of bos indicus cattle to africa after the arab invasion in east africa in about 700AD.The breed got its name from the borana plateau in southern ethiopia and northern kenya a region with hash high altitude climatic condition and frequent drought.Boran are humped medium framed animal with sound muscling and large capacity for size. They are often confused with brahman cattle because they also have a hump.Boran are beefier than other indigenous breed like nguni and afrikaner.
The unique attributes to the boran were recognised by the kenyan cattlemen in the early 1900s with the establishment of kenya boran cattle breeders society (BCBS) to protect and enhance the breed . The boran breed was introduced to south africa in 1995 and the boran cattle breeders of south africa was founded in 2003.It is not possible to import live animal to south africa from kenya.the first boran cow was born in south africa when embryo technology allowed people havest embryo in kenya and plant them in surrogate cows under strict rules of veterinary protocol. This started slow process of building boran breed in south africa.to really appreciate boran breed one has to see them in their natural environment in kenya. In 1947 some of these breed were exported to zambia.the boran breed society in zambia has the largest number of registered cattle in zambia.
The boran was introduced to Australia, United States of America,Mexico and Brazil. Importation to these countries were meant to improve beef productivity in these stressful tropical rangelands not only in pure boran breeding programmes but also in systematic crossbreeding schemes.
